Lonergan Joins Mignola for MISS TRUESDALE AND THE FALL OF HYPERBOREA

Found Footage Horror film THE OUTWATERS Hits Theaters

A throwback to the early days of the found-footage genre, Cinedigm and Bloody Disgusting are releasing The Outwaters in theaters beginning February 9. The buzz around the film has been growing steadily since its successful festival run and culminated when its teaser trailer was shown ahead of Terrifier 2, which was also distributed by Cinedigm and Bloody Disgusting, this past October. You'd think there's enough here to cobble together 3 to 5 excellent horror/scifi films. YOU'D THINK!! Despite the depressing nature of the live-action Resident Evil movie series and a lackluster, half-hearted TV show, we can still hold out hope that some renegade team can pull out a win with blood-soaked animation. ...Cross your fingers, folks.

In 1983, the Ideal Toy Company introduced the "sticky-icky creatures from another dimension", the Action Aliens known as the Manglors. Comprised of both ferocious warriors and incredible creatures, these beings "made of the strangest stuff on earth" - sorbothane - were stretchy, sticky, clay-like monstrosities. The incredible box art by the late, great Ken Kelly promised the ultimate warriors of terror, but a perplexing marketing decision prompting kids to tear them apart doomed the line. Not even the addition of the amazing Prehi-Storage Eggs in 1984 could save the Manglors from tumbling into the toyboxes of obscurity.

I HATE THIS PLACE Returns with New Story Arc

Today Skybound unveiled a first look at I Hate This Place #6, which kicks off the second story arc of last year’s hit supernatural horror series from writer Kyle Starks (Assassin Nation, The Six Sidekicks of Trigger Keaton), artist Artyom Topilin (Ice Cream Man Presents Quarantine Comix Special), colorist Lee Loughridge (Deadly Class, The Good Asian), and letterer Pat Brosseau (Birthright, Manifest Destiny).

Animated Sci-Fi THE SON OF THE STARS Coming to Blu-Ray

Deaf Crocodile Films announces its release of the rarely-seen 1987 Romanian animated sci-fi film THE SON OF THE STARS (FIUL STELELOR / ULTIMA MISIUNE) for the first time ever on Blu-ray. Described as a wild mid-eighties mash-up of The Empire Strikes Back, Alien, and Tarzan, was directed by the same creative team behind DELTA SPACE MISSION (previously released by Deaf Crocodile), Romanian animators Călin Cazan and Mircea Toia. Working with the Romanian National Film Archive and Cinematheque and the Romanian Film Centre, Deaf Crocodile has created a new 4K restoration from the original 35mm camera negative and sound elements, overseen by Co-Founder and in-house restoration expert Craig Rogers.
