Call of Duty: Black Ops III "Ember" Tease
Today, we can wear a device on our wrist that does the jobs of several devices that used to take up much of the space in a small backpack. We are prototyping artificial limbs and organs with hardware that seems to advance daily. Doctors are making synthetic skin seemingly from nothing. We are, quite literally, only years away from cybernetic enhancements for our advantage and personal preference...not necessity. Today, Activision gives us a look into that frightening future where "cultural lag" is merely an afterthought. This is the future of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3...

Malkovich, Paxton, McGowan & Bernthal Battle the Exo Zombies Infection
Remember that time Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Sarah Michelle Gellar led Robert Englund, Michael Rooker and Danny Trejo into battle against George Romero and his undead hordes? If you play all the Call of Duty games, including the additional downloadable content, then you do. Nearly rivalling that bit of awesome comes John Malkovich, Bill Paxton, Rose McGowan and John Bernthal battling jacked up super mutant cybernetically enhanced zombies in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare - Exo Zombies Infection. ...and just like that...I want to spend the precious moments of my free time playing video games...all day..every day.

The Awe Inspiring Call of Duty: Ghosts Single Player Campaign Trailer
We don't cover a lot of video games, unless it is the nerdiest of the nerdy or pulls so hardcore on your retro heart strings, we have no choice, but I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic adventure (as evidenced by my recent devouring of Revolution season 1 in a 3 day sitting) and this new game play trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts is...just...the stuff that awesome aspires to be.
The franchise that has defined a generation of gaming is set to raise the bar once again with the all-new Call of Duty: Ghosts. Published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward, the studio that created the original Call of Duty and the critically-acclaimed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series, Call of Duty: Ghosts ushers in the next generation of the franchise, delivering a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast, all powered by a new next-generation Call of Duty engine.

Undead Carnage + METAL = New Call of Duty: Black Ops II Zombies Trailer
So I have to ask the hardcore gamers out there... Is it now standard for most military action shoot-em-up games to add a zombie DLC component? It's obvious Zombies are bigger than ever, with the popularity of the Walking Dead fueling a mainstream audience's hunger for more shambling undead content, but who decided zombies and military video games were a perfect fit? Just something rumbling around my brain. It's baffling enough my mostly normal sister asked to borrow all my Walking Dead hardcovers so she can read the original story. How long to you suppose this zombie love will hold out?

Answer The Call of the Dead
The best thing about my job is the unpredictability. Today I received a fairly unmarked poster tube from Activision containing a poster for something called CALL Of The DEAD!! Dun dun dun duuuuun. Here's the skinny...Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) and Treyarch revealed today that famed horror and action stars Robert Englund, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Michael Rooker and Danny Trejo have joined the cast of Call of Duty®: Black Ops Escalation's zombie level, Call of the Dead. The Call of the Dead zombie level and four all new multiplayer maps make up the second content pack, Escalation, for the record-setting game Call of Duty: Black Ops, launching first on Xbox LIVE® on May 3rd. Dedicated to creating a Zombie experience like never before, the Call of the Dead storyline is inspired by none other than legendary horror writer and director, George A. Romero, who also stars as himself in the new level.
"Our latest zombie creation, Call of the Dead, is unreal!" says Mark Lamia, Studio Head of Treyarch. "We set out to create an exciting new zombie experience for fans of the genre that takes Zombies to an insane new level."

"This is Treyarch's tribute to the legendary George Romero, who truly defined the zombie genre and whose incredible work has been such an inspiration to our team," says Dave Anthony, Call of Duty: Black Ops Director. "It was an absolute honor to work with such an amazing and talented cast whose passion and energy brought their characters instantly to life. Fans are going to love this."
In addition to George A. Romero, whose credits include Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Land of the Dead, he is joined by Sarah Michelle Gellar, whose credits include the hit TV series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Cruel Intentions; Robert Englund, best known for originating the role of Freddy Krueger in the successful Nightmare on Elm Street franchise; Michael Rooker, most recently acclaimed for his work on AMC's horror drama The Walking Dead; and Danny Trejo, who starred in 2010's action-thriller Machete.
Published by Activision and developed by Treyarch, Call of Duty: Black Ops is rated "M" (Mature) by the ESRB for Blood and Gore, Intense Violence and Strong Language. Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation content pack will launch first on Xbox LIVE on May 3rd. For additional Call of Duty updates and information, visit us on the web at www.callofduty.com/blackops, www.facebook.com/codblackops, and also via Twitter @Treyarch.
The poster sent over is ABSOLUTELY something fans will be fiending for once word gets out. The fold lines in this poster are a part of the art, adding to that Grindhouse feel. The Call of the Dead letters on the poster are actually raised up and super glossy for a bloody effect while the background behind the "hunters" seems slightly metallic, giving the whole thing a 3D feel. Happy Hunting!
