Captain America: Civil War Trailer.. The Bromance Version

After a big trailer comes out, people like to remix it...add their snarky remarks, gushing praise and/or geek fueled hate..add LEGOs (or remake the whole damn thing in LEGOs..which is always awesome and preferable) and take that unique experience to a new level. Today, a creative man named Anthony Meadows decided the ultimate super powered Bromance love triangle needed just a bit more emo. Adele's new hit song "Hello" fit the bill perfectly. Watch as all your feels are ripped asunder...

Toy Fair 2015: More Mighty Marvel from Hasbro

Back into the post UK, post Nuremberg, pre-NY Toy Fair 2015 show!!  WOOO. We should put all that on a t shirt. It's kinda catchy. Hasbro hops back into the kiddie pool with a stack of toys that may delight children while angering long time adult fans who will be found in the isles shaking boxes yelling "WHY AREN'T YOU A MARVEL LEGENDS AVENGERS LINE??!! YOU ARE WASTING MY PEG SPACE!!!" We are a passionate lot. Not a lot of info to go with this latest batch, but we've got little bits of knowledge to share along with the customary eye candy...

Reporting for Duty at the Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Exhibition in New York City

We don't get paid much, and our accolades are few, but there are PERKS to writing for tiny little geeky websites! One such perk is being invited to fun happenings in the tri state area..and you'd better believe the Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Exhibition was on our radar from the first second they announced it was in the works, so when they said COME ON DOWN...we practically lined up that night.

The exhibition had a bit of a rocky start, from a number of perspectives. A call for press to come on a preview night got the attention of our excellent photographer Galaxia Siandre, who arrived ready to take a bazillion pictures and play with all the buttons. ALL THE BUTTONS. Sadly, half the displays didn't seem to be active yet and the ones that were were swamped by children in an already over crowded venue, so Galaxia shot what she could, grabbed an official SHIELD cupcake (damn good bakers that save the world I suppose) and headed back home.

Marvel Infinite Series Action Figures: Wave 1 Reviewed

Marvel Universe is BACK! ...well...sort of. The return of the Marvel Legends 6 inch scale to the pegs in force sent up many a cheer among the toy buying hordes, but the deep sobbing from those who had come to love the 1:18th scale figures could be heard as well. Would the line continue? Would they pick up right where they left off or reboot the whole darn thing in favor of a "simplified" figure design for the kiddies who have just discovered the mighty Marvel Universe via The Avengers. The arrival of pre-orders for Marvel Infinite Series Wave 1 action figures ended all speculation...AND NOW THEY ARE HERE. Good..Bad...Dan Curto is the guy with the camera...and many opinions. Take it away Dan!

2014 Preview: Hasbro's Captain America: Winter Soldier Toy Line

2014 toy coverage continues with more from Marvel Studios' massive Marvel Comics films! ...and as usual, the reveals are somewhat diminished by the figures already hitting the west coast. So far, hardcore toy collectors have found the 6 inch figures at Target stores with 3.75 inch figures following close behind, most likely found in the same regions, though we have not confirmed that. Here's what's to come.

D23 Expo: Marvel Movies & More Live Action Films

Steve Sievers, Chelsea Sievers and lil baby Sievers took to Disney's D23 convention on behalf of Idle Hands and sent over this report on all the Marvel Studios talk at the show. Well, to be honest, it appears Steve and Chelsea were doing all the work while the baby was just lumping around looking cute. YOU CAN'T GET BY ON YOUR LOOKS YOUR WHOLE LIFE BABY!!! Here's Steve's report coupled with some bits from Disney...

Thor: The Dark World opened with the same footage from San Diego Comic-Con 2013, which is pretty much extended scenes you see in the new trailer. Stars Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins took to the stage with Tom immediately apologizing for not being dressed up as Loki. Many in the crowd cheer him on to sing but he said sorry, not today.

SDCC 2013: Marvel Studios: An Evening with Loki and Winter Soldier Insight

It's hard to believe there is only ONE DAY left to San Diego Comic Con 2013! I've been going for nearly 12 years straight now, broken by this year's lack of funds to make the trip...and it sounds like I picked like a hell of a year to sit this one out! The Marvel Studios panel is probably still washing over those fans who were in Hall H a short time ago, and well it should. LOKI JUST ASKED THEM TO JOIN HIM IN GLORIOUS BATTLE!!! Yes..while I sat in New Jersey, sans pants, as Emi caught up on Once Upon a Time Season 1, Tom Hiddleston took the stage dressed head to to as Loki and the crowd damn near lost their minds. He paced the stage and asked "Where are your Avengers now??!!" The crowd went berzerk. "Pledge your loyalty to me." One man in the audience shouted NEVER as the women around him were practically throwing their panties. To prove that man was outnumbered, Lokie said three simple words. "Say my name." LOKI came the chant. "Say...my name." LOKI came the call. "SAY MY NAME!" he demanded with arms raised. LOKI came the screams. "It seems I have an army" was his resolute parting remark as he motioned to the screen about to show the Thor: The Dark World footage and left the stage. Wish you were there? Holy damn man...I'm right there with you! We've got the next best thing...

90's Captain America > Avengers Captain America?

Welp..he's certainly more amusing...in the way that things that are so bad they are, by default, awesome, are amusing.
Steve Rogers happens to be the best candidate out of six hundred volunteers. He has the power to save millions. Only he could defeat a superhuman madman.  But saving the world let him trapped in an icy grave until fate released him to finish a battle that started decades ago. Now an evil genius in on the verge of global domination and only Captain America can stop him! On May 21, 2013, Shout! Factory will unleash the long-awaited 1990 action sci-fi movie classic CAPTAIN AMERICA, starring Matt Salinger (What Dreams May Come), Ronny Cox (Total Recall, RoboCop), Ned Beatty (Toy Story 3, Superman), Darren McGavin (The X-Files), Michael Nouri (NCIS, Damages) and Scott Paulin (Castle, JAG), in a special Collector’s Edition Blu-ray™.

President America Takes Office

Oh, you wacky comics. DC shakes up their entire universe and pseudo-reboots with more rooftop bump-n-grind, side boob, re-written histories and altered sexual preferences. Since that day, folks have been trying to calculate if these drastic changes have actually given a boost to a slowly sinking comic industry...and were waiting to see what Marvel would do as counterpoint. So far we've gotten a gay marriage, the infinite battle of your two favorite teams (Avengers vs X-Men), a significant death, and now...Captain America takes on his most fearsome foe to date....The American Public. ~shudder~

The story that rocked the Ultimate Comics Universe begins a new chapter right here! After rallying Earth's Mightiest Heroes to victory, Captain America is sworn in as the new President of the United States...just in time to face a deadly villain with a personal tie to the Ultimates! Now Captain America must find a way to safeguard this country both as a President and as a super hero- but can he do both?

Ultimate Comics Ultimates #16 is available at your local comic shop and in digital format today.

Avengers 2 for 2015

It isn't even on Blu-ray yet, but the fine folks at Disney know a sure thing when they see one. Amid the flurry of excitement over Joss Whedon remaining the baby daddy for the series and even further, getting his hands on an Avengers universe based TV series, we've had a range of titles announced to get excited over. There's the "coming soon" lineup...

Chinese Avengers Do It Better

If by "better" you mean "funnier" and your version of funny is to watch someone massacre the holy hell out of something you love by doing everything wrong, unintentionally causing unending comedy you will surely use as background visuals at future drunken parties...then yea..the Chinese Bootleg version of the upcoming Avengers DVD is far superior to the one we'll be able to buy come September! Worst Previews tipped us off to a post on the Bileto Tumbler which captured the most awesome bits for your Sunday afternoon entertainment. Enjoy!

Why Marvel NOW?

They've been pelting my email box...wearing away at my curiosity wall. Before DC's New52, my purchases were almost completely Marvel with titles like New Mutants, Deadpool, New Avengers, Thunderbolts and Uncanny X-Force topping my list of must buys....but things were starting to get stale..and overly complicated. Gone were the days when those good ole' mutant boys would pick up a bat and some gloves and just rile each other up before someone like Juggernaut came to ruin the party. It was just no fun. The NEW52 piqued my with characters I was always interested in, but worlds that shifted too wildly from day to day...and were too numerous. HOW MANY EARTHS DO YOU NEEEED??!! Seeking to get back to basics and attract a new generation of readers, the NEW52 was born, and with it came a giant sized press push, which was well deserved for a gutsy move such as revamping your entire comics empire.

In steps Marvel NOW, with wordage in each press release that does not commit to such a radical revamp, but promises endless possibility through fresh ideas and new directions.

YOU Choose Marvel Minimates Series 50!

The year 2013 marks the 10th anniversary of Diamond Select Toys' Marvel Minimates line, and will coincidentally see the 50th consecutive series of figures released at comic shops and specialty stores. To celebrate, DST wants to do something to recognize the fans who have supported the line over the years. And since there are so many fan-favorite characters who have yet to be made in the line, they're going to give those fans the power to decide the line-up for Series 50! This series will only be available at comic shops and specialty stores, and will be entirely composed of fan-voted characters!

Over the next four weeks, Marvel.com will present a series of four polls, each representing one group of characters. Poll #1 will be the Main Assault Team, showcasing the Marvel Universe's star players sporting distinctly different looks. Poll #2 will be the Support Team, giving some love to the unsung heroes who have backed up the all-stars over the years. Poll #3 will be the Primary Targets, villain characters who we've never gotten as Minimates or who desperately need a re-do. And Poll #4 will be the Cannon Fodder, army-builder characters who you may want to buy more than one of. The top 1 or 2 vote-getters in each category will be produced for Series 50, and once the line-up is assembled, Diamond Select will create a rare variant figure of one of those characters to round out the assortment!

The first poll, to choose the Main Assault Team, is live right now at Marvel.com, and a new poll will post at that same link every week after that! Keep checking back to cast your vote!

The poll is here:
http://marvel.com/news/story/18697/marvel_minimates_10th_anniversary_fan_polls

POLL #1: MAIN ASSAULT TEAM (Top two will be chosen)

Savage Grey Hulk (bulked up)

Mutated Thing (Extra-Rocky)

Iron Man 2020
Werewolf Captain America
Cyborg Spider-Man

Team X Wolverine

Ghost Rider (Blue, Danny Ketch)

Hydro Armor Iron Man

I of course will be voting for Werewolf Cap and Cyborg Spidey..because the only thing better than Marvel Superheroes is when they are monsters.
