Snowpiercer On DVD & Blu-Ray October 21

Anchor Bay Entertainment and RADiUS are proud to announce the home entertainment release of the post-apocalyptic thriller, SNOWPIERCER. Chris Evans leads the all-star cast of Song Kang Ho, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, Ewen Bremner, John Hurt, and Ed Harris. Visionary director Bong Joon Ho’s “enormously ambitious and visually stunning,” (Scott Foundas, Variety) film has been widely praised as “a superb masterpiece of science fiction” (MTV). RADiUS released the film theatrically on June 27, 2014. A box office success, the film has amassed $4.4 million to date, making it one of the top ten highest grossing independent films of the year. The sci-fi epic will be available on Blu-ray™ and DVD October 21, 2014.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Begins Production

Following in the footsteps of the record-breaking Marvel Studios’ release, “Marvel’s The Avengers,” production on the highly anticipated release, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” has commenced in Los Angeles, Calif., with production also including locations in Cleveland, Ohio, and Washington D.C. Directing the film is the team of Anthony and Joe Russo (“Welcome to Collinwood”) from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus (“Captain America: The First Avenger”) & Stephen McFeely (“Captain America: The First Avenger”). Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” returns Chris Evans (“Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s The Avengers”) as the iconic Super Hero character Steve Rogers/Captain America, along with Scarlett Johansson (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Iron Man 2”) as Black Widow and Samuel L. Jackson (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Iron Man 2”) as Nick Fury. In addition, film icon Robert Redford has joined the all-star cast as Agent Alexander Pierce, a senior leader within the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release in the U.S. on April 4, 2014.

Though I, like most of you reading, am still on the fence about shifting focus from Chris Evans cemented as The Human Torch in two Fantastic Four films to him being the pivotal center of the very Marvel Universe as Captain America, I'm willing to give him a chance. There's no doubt the man can act, but I've just felt he is missing that intensity I'm looking for in the leader of The Avengers...the man whom just about every super hero and even some super villains in countless comics I've read say they would follow into hell if he came and asked them. Paramount has until July of 2011 to change our minds on the matter, so here's their first round attack! Dig the eye candy and let me know what you think in the comments. Heavy debate a-commin'!

Dark Frosty VS Captain America

When we are able to interview celebrities about their latest films, we often want to shove in questions about far geekier pursuits and projects that may have down the pipe. This weekend, the cast of The Losers hit Wondercon 2010, and even though this film is high on our anticipation list, the forces of geekiness demand we pester Chris Evans about CAPTAIN FREAKING AMERICA!! Steve "Frosty" Weintraub of Collider was faced with this very conundrum and rather than fight the system, he thought he'd test his jedi mind tricks in the field.
