Emmet Cancels the Apocalypse in the LEGO Movie 2 Holiday Short
We all have that friend who is eternally sunny...maybe even annoyingly so. You want to wallow in a good, solid funk and there they are, singing and trying to hug you. Gross. My friends all love Halloween, so at the very least, when the Holidays kick into full gear and the Christmas music starts getting blasted from every communist lawn, I can take comfort that I will see Tim Burton-esque decorations in my feed, trees full of eyeballs and, of course, elves on shelves...on fire. Today, we celebrate both the eternally sunny optimist and the morose, doom-sayer who can appreciate a light display that stings the eyes...because you can't have LEGO Emmet without LEGO Batman.

Your New Christmas Tradition: Anna and the Apocalypse
They've finally invented it...a cure for those holiday blues. Just imagine..the constant struggle for cash to pay your bills...the annoying questions from friends and family as to why you've not married and reproduced yet...all your societal responsibilities...gone..in a flash....or rather in a bite! When you think about it, a zombie apocalypse isn't really the worst thing that could happen to us. The creators of Anna and the Apocalypse seem to agree with this theory, and made it Christmassy....and added music!

LEGO ADVENT CALENDARS ALREADY IN STORES!!!
We had just been discussing how the Spirit of Halloween stores were opened for business nearly 2 weeks ago, and now we get a report that the LEGO Advent Calendars have shipped to the UK, so they are probably turning up in the states as well. Advent Calendars. Just drink that in for a moment. ADVENT CALENDARS FOR CHRISTMAS!!! Can't we get through my favorite holiday of the year before we bypass Thanksgiving entirely and drop holy hellish holiday crap in every retail store isle??!! Is that too much to ask?! ~storms out of room~
~comes back~
Anywho..Matt Booker of Automatic Comics got these new additions in his shop today, including Advent Calendars for LEGO Star Wars, Friends and City. Hit the jump and enjoy the eye candy...and shudder at the coming of the "Holidays"...3 months early....

Merry Plastic Christmas!!

As you may have noticed, I've got my hands full with holiday mirthification, so to keep you well satiated until I finish the family funtime, I've come up with a way to fill your geek tank to overflowing...for at least three days...and brighten up my apartment at the same time so I stop shouting BAA at people online. If you've never had a real tree in your home, you may not be familiar with the particular pine smell that fills the air and for me, really solidifies that it is the season to boogie. What makes having a tree enough to top off your dork tank? ACTION FIGURE NATIVITY SCENE!!! Here's the casting...

Joseph - Strider
King 1 - Namor
King 2 - Randor
King 3 - KHAAAAAAANNNNN!!

Holidays in the NYC Part 2
Back to Macy's for what could be seen as a hostile take over of the North Pole by Willy Wonka, Ralphie's REAL Pink Nightmare...or a fairly pleasant acid trip. We also noticed Santa has a little flair for the Steam Punk aesthetic. For some reason, this seems very natural, and we now demand a whole show..window display...parade...whatever...of Christmas themes gone Steam Punk. Make it happen!!

Holidays in the NYC
Went to a party in NYC last night and we thought we'd hit a couple of store fronts, since I haven't seen Christmas windows since I was a little kid. I took some sub-par pics with my camera phone so you can soak up the yuletide gay-ity as well! ENJOY!!
We'll start you off with Macy's windows: Part 1: Miracle on 34th Street. More laterer...
