Toy Fair 2020: Harry Potter, Gudetama, My Hero Academia & More at Monogram
The art of the Bust Bank has become polished and refined over the years. In the past, rotocast (ie; hollow plastic) meant a flimsy, cheap toy. Companies like Mezco proved rotocasting could be utilized to create amazing figures at a fraction of the cost of their heavy, solid brethren. Monogram is one company that has embraced rotocasting over many years, providing geeks with their favorite DC and Marvel Comics characters at a price nearly anyone can afford, and even allowing you to pop your pennies in their heads! For 2020, Monogram continues their march of the Bust Banks, including many popular licenses including the mopey egg Gudetama, the wizarding world of Harry Potter, metal screeching Aggretsuko, the always adorable Hello Kitty and so much more!

It has been an incredible few weeks for McFarlane as the company proudly unveiled its first line of Harry Potter action figures and revealed their plans for 2019 and beyond at the New York Toy Fair. Upon acquiring the rights to one of the most successful and sought after licenses in the toy business, McFarlane has complete access to the entire vault of Harry Potter and the Wizarding World characters and creatures, which also include the Fantastic Beasts movie franchise.

Toy Fair 2019: JADA Continues Their Nano Assault
JADA Toys have been around for quite some time, proving over and over that pop culture fans love diecast toys and more specifically, incredible vehicles you can pop on your shelves. Their Nano Metalfigs were probably met with a heads cratch by the toy fans at first, but retailers had to love that ultra low price point and, let's face it, collectors could stand to give their bank card a rest! 2019 shows JADA won't be slowing their Nano figure assault as they add new licenses to their ranks and dream up new ways to give us what we never knew we wanted. Let's take a peek at what Mat Hawkins spied at UK Toy Fair this year...

Toy Fair 2019: JAKKS Expands Their Harry Potter Product Line
JAKKS Pacific are one of those companies that doesn't get a lot of praise or water cooler talk, but are always innovating and surprising. I'm never sure what new licenses they will have on show come February of every year. As the Wizarding Worlds of Harry Potter license stretched out across the global marketplace, JAKKS took a slice of that action with wands for training and blind box wands for collecting and even a game called " Niffler Challenge" straight from "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". Now Jakks dives deeper into Harry Potter's world with mini figures and playsets!

SDCC 2018: Mattel Squeaks Out Harry Potter Doll Line
With little warning and even less fanfare, doll masters Mattel have released a Harry Potter doll line that is prooooobably everything you dreamed of about 10 years ago!! Quality appears to be top notch and, as this is NOT a Barbie line, the characters don't look like Ken and Skipper in cosplay. Yay!
Fans and collectors alike will love recreating their favourite scenes and imagining new ones with the Harry Potter doll and his wizarding friends! Dolls look just like their characters in Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets and are dressed in their signature Hogwarts uniforms. Harry Potter doll and his fellow wizards have eleven "joints" -- in the neck, shoulders, hips, knees, elbows and wrists -- making them ready for action! Each doll comes with a personalized wand -- perfect for casting spells (Expelliarmus!) and multiple play patterns...

Trampled by sugar crazed blogger children, smacked in the head with swag bags and pummeled relentlessly by New York's Summer heat, I returned home late last night, able to shout I SURVIVED ANOTHER SWEET SUITE!! With an oceanfront view, Idle Hands spent the day getting on our knees to shoot all the little plastic people, and then comically trying to get back up again so YOU, the ones we love, can see all the toys coming to stores this August and on into the Holiday Season. Let's kick off this toy parade with LEGO and our most favorite new thing to hit toy shelves next month...HARRY POTTER SETS!!!

Teaser Trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Goes Live
The Harry Potterverse sagas continue within the Fantastic Beasts story line kicked off in the 2016 film. The Crimes of Grindelwald continues the tale of an awkward Newt Scaramander struggling to prove to the magical world that supernatural creatures should be studied, respected and, of course, loved.
At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.
In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.
