Neil Gaiman’s How to Talk to Girls at Parties on Blu-ray & DVD 8/14
Take the hyper imaginative mind of Neil Gaiman, teamed with the writers of Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Philippa Goslett and John Cameron Mitchell) and add a tiny, magical dose of body horror and you get How to Talk to Girls at Parties, a comic sci-fi experience you won't soon forget!
London, 1977. Enn (Alex Sharp) is a shy suburban teenager who sneaks out to after-hours punk parties. One night, Enn and his friends meet some teens who seem like they’re from another planet; in fact, they are from another planet, visiting Earth to complete a mysterious rite of passage. Enn falls for beautiful alien Zan (Elle Fanning) – and into a delirious adventure that will test the limits of their love in this wildly entertaining film from director John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch).

American Gods and Perfected Chaos
If you say the name Neil Gaiman to me, it instantly conjures images of androgynous, lanky humans who might lash out like an angry demi-god without hesitation or fear of internal moral fallout, leaving those standing near with jaws agape as there was previously no indication this being possessed so much power...or capacity for remorseless bloodshed. I'm not certain if this is an actual moment from a Neil Gaiman work, as, truth be told, I've not read a lot of this writings, but it is what pops into my head when you speak the mans name. Skinny human most likely ripping another human in half. My brains are a scary place. Oddly, this mental image turned out to be a perfect jumping off point for me when plunging into the world of STARZ American Gods.

McShane Report: Mr. Wednesday Cast in Starz American Gods
This is the beginning of a lifelong series of McShane reports, posted solely for the amusement and entertainment of Heather Buckley. You may go on with your day now.
Starz and FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) announced today that Ian McShane (“Deadwood,” “Ray Donovan”) has been cast as Mr. Wednesday in the upcoming adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s acclaimed contemporary fantasy novel, American Gods. The series will begin shooting in April.
Neil Gaiman said, “When you write a beloved character (beloved with, or despite, or because of all his faults) like Mr.Wednesday, you get to watch the internet trying to cast the role. I've seen a hundred names suggested, but few make me grin like Ian McShane does. I've already been lucky enough to have him in one film (he was bright blue in it, animated, and probably Polish). Now I count myself even luckier: he's made the journey from ‘Lovejoy’ to ‘American Gods.’ Yesterday was Super Tuesday. Today is Wonderful Wednesday.”

Spawn's Angela Coming to Marvel Comics
Characters have crossed over from one comic universe to another before, but they usually fight, shake hands, band together to defeat a common enemy and then slip back into their home domain with no real excuse as to how they got their in the first place. Hell, DC and Marvel even mashed their characters together in the mess that was the Amalgam Universe (which gives me chills just thinking about it.) We won't return there. Tis' a silly place. Today, Newsrama has alerted us that a major character in the Spawn-iverse will be stepping onto Marvel Comics soil for the finale of the massive Age of Ultron event..and it seems she'll be moving in for a while!

Amanda Palmer Reminds Me of a Babe
No idea how I missed this one! A couple of my favorite people making fun of one of my favorite, yet retarded movies. Sometimes, things in the universe just come together to create something wonderful...and retarded...and pretty fucking awesome. ..And of course, hysterical! Check out Amanda Palmer as Sara and Neil Gaiman as Jared AKA David Bowie with a mullet in LABYRINTH!! Well..its a piece of Labyrinth..with a sock puppet. The sure do know the way to my geeky heart. Sock puppets rule. Let's watch...
