President America Takes Office
Oh, you wacky comics. DC shakes up their entire universe and pseudo-reboots with more rooftop bump-n-grind, side boob, re-written histories and altered sexual preferences. Since that day, folks have been trying to calculate if these drastic changes have actually given a boost to a slowly sinking comic industry...and were waiting to see what Marvel would do as counterpoint. So far we've gotten a gay marriage, the infinite battle of your two favorite teams (Avengers vs X-Men), a significant death, and now...Captain America takes on his most fearsome foe to date....The American Public. ~shudder~
The story that rocked the Ultimate Comics Universe begins a new chapter right here! After rallying Earth's Mightiest Heroes to victory, Captain America is sworn in as the new President of the United States...just in time to face a deadly villain with a personal tie to the Ultimates! Now Captain America must find a way to safeguard this country both as a President and as a super hero- but can he do both?

Goyer's 'Da Vinci's Demons" at New York Comic Con
STARZ will present a first look at David S. Goyer’s highly anticipated adventure drama, “Da Vinci’s Demons,” at a panel on Saturday, October 13th from 1:45pm to 2:45pm in RM 1A21 as part of New York Comic-Con. Goyer will be joined by series star Tom Riley (“Monroe,” I Want Candy), who plays Leonardo Da Vinci, and costars Laura Haddock (The Inbetweeners Movie, “Honest,” Captain America: The First Avenger) and Lara Pulver (“True Blood,” “Sherlock,” “Robin Hood”). Following the panel Goyer and cast will sign autographs.
“Da Vinci's Demons” is a historical fantasy, following the ‘untold’ story of the world's greatest genius during his turbulent youth in Renaissance Florence. Brilliant and passionate, the twenty-five year old Leonardo Da Vinci is an artist, inventor, swordsman, lover, dreamer and idealist. As a free thinker, with intellect and talents that are almost superhuman, he struggles to live within the confines of his own reality and time. He begins to not only see the future, but invent it.

Undead Carnage + METAL = New Call of Duty: Black Ops II Zombies Trailer
So I have to ask the hardcore gamers out there... Is it now standard for most military action shoot-em-up games to add a zombie DLC component? It's obvious Zombies are bigger than ever, with the popularity of the Walking Dead fueling a mainstream audience's hunger for more shambling undead content, but who decided zombies and military video games were a perfect fit? Just something rumbling around my brain. It's baffling enough my mostly normal sister asked to borrow all my Walking Dead hardcovers so she can read the original story. How long to you suppose this zombie love will hold out?

Iron Sky Drops Moon Nazis October 2nd
The only thing worse than Illinois Nazis? Moon Nazis. They sit up there..waiting to find the weaknesses in your defenses...undermining your economy..always talking about how much better their hockey is than your American hockey. Woops..sorry...that's my Canada rant. Reset...
In the last moments of World War II, a secret Nazi space program evaded destruction by fleeing to the Dark Side of the Moon. In the intervening 70 years, the Nazis constructed a gigantic space fortress with a massive armada of flying saucers. Their plan: travel back to Earth and re-colonize the planet. Now, mankind's greatest enemy is no longer history as the Reich strikes back in this eagerly-anticipated worldwide box office phenomenon which has enjoyed a U.S. theatrical release - demanded in over 70 markets. When American astronaut James Washington (Christopher Kirby) puts down his Lunar Lander a bit too close to the secret Nazi base, the Moon Führer (Udo Kier) decides the Fourth Reich must act, so two Nazi officers, ruthless Klaus Adler (Götz Otto) and idealistic Renate Richter (Julia Dietze), travel to Earth to prepare the invasion. In the end, when the Moon Nazi UFO armada darkens the skies, ready to strike at the unprepared Earth, every man, woman and nation alike, must unite to save humanity!

The Wolverine...or The Jackman?
We've got the first image from "The Wolverine" which is filming as we speak, but at this point, you may as well call the damn thing "The Jackman", as the ladies viewing this image (and more than a few men) could care less if there were pokey things coming out of his hands. I suspect you could swap them out for ornate fire pokers and no one would notice. HOW MANY TIMES DID YOU WATCH THE "HUGH RUNS ACROSS THE COUNTRYSIDE NEKKID" SCENE IN THE LAST FILM??!! HMM??!! Dirty slags.
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.

James Gunn Officially Directing Guardians of the Galaxy
James Gunn. He most recently brought you the psychotic Lollipop Chainsaw video game in which a cheerleader uniform clad vixen takes on a horde of the undead with a chainsaw. The same man brought you "Super", in which Rainn Wilson (from The Office) suits up as The Crimson Bolt and dispenses justice with an extra large, extra heavy wrench. The very same James Gunn brought you the horror film "Slither" in which a redneck-ish business man is infected with an alien entity, causing him to grow tentacles, assimilate the town's populace and impregnate man and woman alike with his mind controlling, slug-like worm-babies. Amazing.
Asbury Park Comic Con 2 This Weekend
These days, it seems like the Comic Con craze is at an all time high with no signs of slowing down in the near future. As counterpoint to the giant halls of Hollywood film representation, rows of video game try-out stations and endless miles of other promotions that are fun enough, but have little to do with actual comic books, a group of people have decided to get back to basics and are hosting their movement in a sleepy little state called New Jersey. Welcome to Asbury Park Comic Con!

He-Man Wobbles & Power Rangers Go POP!
Funko are at it again. We're just going to start calling them the Vinyl Borg, because they assimilate all your pop culture loves. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!! Alf..we are looking at you. Today, Funko drops us a line that they are ready to reveal the first of their long awaited Masters of the Universe pieces and surprised us with some killer Power Rangers POP! Vinyl to boot!
First up, we have the Masters of the Universe. He-man and his medieval and yet often high tech defenders of Eternia square off against the forces of Skeletor and his monstrous army of thugs. For years we've gotten a giant helping of action figures, vehicles and cartoons to further the mythos, so it seemed a no-brainer to immortalize the characters further in little plastic statues with bobbley heads. In past months, we were given teases that the Masters would join the ranks of the POP! Vinyl universe as well, and this still seems like a sure thing. There are a lot of licenses that get treatment in both lines, so hang tight for that announcement! For now, take a look at the Wacky Wobblers with He-Man, Orko, Skeletor and Beast Man, all available December 20th.

But after decades doing the same thing andseeing all the glory go to Felix, Ralph decides he’s tired of playing the role of a bad guy. He takes matters into his own massive hands and sets off on a game-hopping journey across the arcade through every generation of video games to prove he’s got what it takes to be a hero.
New York Comic Con Prepares for the Walking Dead

New York's Village 2012 Halloween Parade Theme

The sound of ticking seconds reassures us of the continuity of our universe, a mechanical heartbeat, definite yet infinite.
But how well do we know Time?
We think of time as immutable, yet we know it to be elastic. Some moments pass with glacial slowness, as others speed past us. It bends and stretches, like Dali's drooping watches and Einstein's speeding trains.

To add to your pre-game excitement, we thought we'd pull some eye candy from the preview of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2! The Collection Intervention Intervention
Let's start this off on a very definitive tone. You know 98% of reality shows are staged...right? When the crew that would become Dread Central first left The Horror Channel, there was some talk about a reality show covering the vast horror genre, hitting conventions and such. I'd asked how the logistics of that would work out with all of us all around the country. There was laughter. It would all be thought out before hand and very little of it would actually be off the cuff. It's "reality TV, baby!!" No one actually said that, as no one at Dread Central is a flaming douche, but that's how I'd imagine reality TV producers talk.
Now we have the hotly debated Collection Intervention on the Syfy channel. Try as I might to not live twitter anything I'm watching, there is always some moment in the show where I'm ready to make an intervention of my own, were my TV a portal and not just a lookie-lookie box.
Episode 1: Host establishes that a woman's Star Wars collection is very dear to her. Host discovers the woman's stash of vintage Star Wars action figures. What could be MORE personal to her than this stash? Naturally, the host suggests these valuable artifacts be sold straight away. The expected near nervous breakdown ensues.
