DC Announces: "We Will NEVER NOT Be in the Middle of an Event"

Of course I kid, but it does seem that way, doesn't it?  If the writing is solid and he art makes our eyeballs drool, then no foul, but all the hoopla behind each EARTH SHATTERING change in the DC Universe makes me tired inside.  At any rate...get ready for BRIGHTEST DAY!!  Your friend and mine, Alex Segura, talked to Dan DiDio at the crack of dawn and pulled this info...

  • Following Blackest Night comes Brightest Day this April
  • This will be a bi-weekly 26 issue series
  • Written by Geoff Johns and Peter Tomasi
  • Fernando Pasarin will be handling the art on Brightest Day #0
  • As this is an Event, the banner will be on several books including Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps, Justice League of America, Titans and The Flash
  • Flash is a new ongoing series beginning in April with Geoff Johns and Francis Manapul at the wheel
  • More titles will utilize the banner in May and June
  • Barry Allen will now be THE premiere Flash in the DC Universe.  Sorry Wally!
  • Eric Wallace and Fabrizio Fiorentino come on board for the TITANS: VILLAINS FOR HIRE special and then the regular series
  • In case you didn't know, the Titans are now under the leadership of Deathstroke: The Terminator (sounds like DC is busting out the baddies like Marvel's current continuity)
  • The Tattooed Man and Cheshire are on the new Titans team
  • David Finch is the cover artist for all Brightest Day books
Honestly, we could follow this all day, but we'll hand the wheel over to you now.  If you'd like to read more on The Brightest Day event, hit up The Source!

Personally, I wish the big two companies would stop "borrowing" each other's ideas.  DC does pseudo-zombie characters returning from the dead...Marvel does the same.  Marvel creates a world with baddies in leadership roles and more baddies dressed up as major heroes...DC looks like it's heading in that direction.  PLEASE keep this aspect ONLY in the one book, otherwise you'll have the entire comic book reading planet screaming "Do Over."
