July 2nd is quickly approaching! July 2nd we get to see if M. Night Shyamalan pulled off the perfect adaption of what is arguably the greatest cartoon series ever made while bypassing the fact that the entire show centers around the Asian peoples. OK, maybe that's not fair. In the film, they dress Asian...and their architecture looks Asian..and their fighting styles are absolutely Asian in origin...there just aren't very many Asians in the cast. Fair? Fair. I'm not going to beat this into the ground, but it irks me.
At any rate, Paramount have just launched a new Last Airbender (minus the Avatar, of course) website which includes TV Spots, Trailers, Stills, The Official Synopsis, Wallpapers, GIF Icons, links to previous features and a spot to register for site updates.
Air, Water, Earth, Fire. Four nations tied by destiny when the Fire Nation launches a brutal war against the others. A century has passed with no hope in sight to change the path of this destruction. Caught between combat and courage, Aang (Noah Ringer) discovers he is the lone Avatar with the power to manipulate all four elements. Aang teams with Katara (Nicola Peltz), a Waterbender, and her brother, Sokka (Jackson Rathbone), to restore balance to their war-torn world.
Based on the hugely successful Nickelodeon animated TV series, the live-action feature film “The Last Airbender” is the opening chapter in Aang’s struggle to survive.
