Did we report on this months ago? Yup. Was it official then? Nope...and today, we've got an awesome image with our professional geek/action star alongside his tree-alien alter ego.

Guardians of the Galaxy Director James Gunn remarked on Facebook "Vin Diesel is a super awesome dude. I can't tell you how much I like this guy."
"I never knew someone could say I AM GROOT so many different ways and with such feeling (and that sounds like I'm kidding but I'm not!)"
