Batman Utility Set Includes All Those Wonderful Toys

Paragon FX Group Batman Utility Set 1
In December NPD Groups released a report showing that “kidults” are responsible for one-fourth of all toy sales annually, around $9 billion worth, and are the biggest driver of growth throughout the industry. While this may be shocking news to some, it's common knowledge in the halls of Paragon FX Group, as is evidenced by their latest offering, the 89 Batman: Modular Utility Grapnel Set .

Arguably one of Batman's greatest gadgets, the modular utility grapnel. The multi-purpose, hand-held unit allowed for Batman to store numerous items on his utility belt yet deploy them all from a single device. The Paragon FX Group team spent a full twelve months recreating the device out of cnc machined aluminum.

The NECA Report: Carrie, Prometheus and Gremlins

Our last NECA update showed off a long awaited Portal figure for the game-obsessed alongside a new Dutch from Predator and a new scale for Gears of War action figures! Today's update isn't as earth shattering, but a Carrie action figure (though not based on the original film) is something to shout about..isn't it?

NECA continue their domination of the horror plastics universe with two new action figures from the upcoming Carrie remake (releasing March 15, 2013) with Chloƫ Grace Moretz (Hit Girl) in the title role. The 7 inch figure duo make up a sort of before and after...one depicting the moment just before being crowned Prom Queen...and one right after, drenched in pig's blood and gearing up tear some students apart with her freaky mind powers. The latter is sure to be a sought after piece for horror fans...unless they are King/De Palma purists, in which case they can sit there with their frowny faces and leave the plastics for the rest of us. The pair are said to drop (individually) late January. That's late Feb/Early March for those in the US.

The Subtle Art of Clockwork Orange

Ah, yes. Who could forget this striking piece of "Art" happened upon by the young adventure seekers in the feel good movie "A Clockwork Orange"?? In 1969, one would be able to buy Herman Makkin's "Rocking Machine" directly. In 2006, the artist felt he could deny the planet no longer and re-released his iconic sculpture. Then in 2008, Medicom teamed up with the artist for a limited release of a mammoth 2 and a half foot long, foot wide version of the machine in white and black colors. Now..it seems...IT IS BACK!! Just goes to show you, you can't keep a good stiff cock down. Now listed as a "movie prop replica", Medicom is poised to make another run of the sculpture that will make your mom cry in all its life-size glory. Since any info I've dug up is in Japanese, I can tell you no more than what I have already, but I wish you good luck in finding the giant penis of your dreams.

A Batman Debate

I don't get most of the press releases from the toy companies anymore, so this one just popped up in my field of vision, so excuse me if it's old to you, the uber collector. It's a modern Batman utility belt replica from DC Direct, complete with pouchy goodness I now KNOW comic fans go crazy over after seeing the reaction to my Deadpool pouches. What can I say...everyone wanted to touch them. Before I continue my rant, dig exhibit A...

Here's where we rant more. Is Batman now wearing a shiny metallic belt buckle emblazoned with his insignia and did he actually request of Alfred to sew little bat buttons onto each pouch??!! This can't be what the real belt looks like right now. I could go knee deep into the impracticality of this belt in a "real world" situation, but I think my geek quota is overflowing from the last Toy Victory post and I have enough trouble getting dates already. DISCUSS!!
