Toy Fair 2017: McFarlane Color Tops Action Figures with Labyrinth, One Punch Man, Destiny & More

Toy Fair 2017: Mcfarlane Color Tops Action Figures One Punch Man
Back into the Toy Fair 2017 coverage with more killer McFarlane news from our friend M@ Hawkins! This time, we dive into McFarlane's return to the 7 inch, semi-posable action figure format they created so many years ago. We've only just begin getting our fix of Color Tops action figures and Mcfarlane has major plans unfolding in 2017 which reach into the worlds of TV, film, Anime, comic books and video games. Some of the items are extensions of lines we've seen shown at last year's big geek events, some are logical jumping off points from those licenses and some had us falling out of our chairs in surprise. Let's get into it!!

NOTE: Like a lot of things at Toy Fair, these images are of prototypes, mock ups and place holders for the actual toys, which will be completed further down the line.

Here's what's on the way...

Anime

Attack on Titan: Eren Jaeger, Mikasa Ackerman and Levi
Naruto Shippuden: Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno
Tokyo Ghoul: Shuu, Touka and Kaneki
One Punch Man: Saitama and Genos

McFarlane are also teasing a Ghost in the Shell licence with "The Major" as, perhaps, the sole figure for this line. All signs point to it being a movie based design and likeness.
UPDATE: We've spotted a box stating her full name as Major Mira Killian.

  1. That's really cool that they're releasing a Jareth figure. My wife and now my 3-year old are huge Labyrinth fans, so something like that, despite it being mostly a statue, will be a big hit.

  2. Hi, did you manage to snag a photo of the Mira Killian box? I'm a Ghost in the Shell fan doing research to see if they changed the Major's name in the movie. So far it's looking like they did.

    1. 99.9% sure they are 7 inch, since Walking Dead is part of the Color Tops line now.

  4. you know, I always hated how everyone cried out 'whitewashing! how dare they have a white american play a japanese character!' It stunned me that no one seemed to accept the fact that the Major was no longer flesh and blood japanese. She was a full body cyborg, she could be whatever ethnic she wanted and pretty sure it was outright mentioned in the anime at least that she usually went for a generic body type on the market instead of something highly customized so she clearly does not have a body that matches how she should look.

It just simply made sense with the lore that she could be a Japanese person who looked caucasian due to having an artificial body. But now for some ungodly reason Hollywood is actually add reasonable fuel to the claims of whitewashing other cultures by changing the character's name? Man that boils me up.

    1. Hollywood has a history of replacing ethnic parts with white people, as they believe their audiences only want to see white faces and among them, the very famous, recognizable ones. What they fail to realize is A. they underestimate the intelligence of their audience and B. By not giving people of different races a chance to become famous by appearing in these roles and showing their amazing acting skills, they prove their own theory, in a sense. If you make the rules, you can't then say "well the rules are set, it's what the people want". It's a lame argument.
