Disney Store Launches New Star Wars Select 7 Inch Action Figure Line

For years, fans of Star Wars have asked for a line of 7-inch-scale Star Wars action figures, both for the added detail and the compatibility with other toy lines. The Disney Store has heard the demand, and has launched a new line of Star Wars Select action figures, made by Diamond Select Toys for the Disney Store! The line kicks off on October 23 with two releases, Boba Fett and Darth Maul. Each figure stands approximately 7 inches tall with 16 points of articulation, and each comes with multiple interchangeable parts and effects.

Disney Toybox Figures Popping Up

The last time you hit the video game section of Toys R Us, did you breeze through the densely packed pegs of figural characters that port into Nintendo, Disney and Activision's preferred video game universes and think "Damn, I have no desire to play this game, but those figures are pretty awesome!" Well...Disney was listening (probably through your phone...someone is always listening!!) As the sun sets on the Disney Infinity video game collection, that bright ball of fire pops up on the other side of our happy toy planet to shine a light on new Disney Toybox action figures! If you are anything like me, you noted the unified art style for those Disney Infinity figures was very appealing. I wondered if they might translate them into 6 inch vinyl figures in the near future. I WAS VERY CLOSE!

A Modern Hawkeye Figure For A New Age

When our favorite heroes are re-imagined ...reformatted...straight up redesigned or worse, rebooted, a new costume is sure to come. Often (as we are geeks), these changes are met with anger. Just...a little anger. More often than not, that anger is at least somewhat well founded, as the redesign sucks all the fun out of the original concept or changes the look of the character so profoundly as to render them unrecognizable. Sometimes..it's just awesome.

The recent Hawkeye comic book has been creating a buzz for some time now with a fantastic style that introduces a noir element to the storytelling and a team of creatives that breathed new life into what was largely considered a one note character. Now Diamond Select celebrates Hawkeyes killer modern look with a Disney Store Exclusive action figure so awesome, no one thought to tell anyone about it til it hit stores and an excited collector decided to share it with us! Kevil Teppel wandered into a Disney Store in Illinois and came across the figure that's about to jump to the top of everyone's Most Wanted list.

Peter Pan Exclusive Minimates

In 1953, the Walt Disney Company delighted audiences with its full-length animated feature Peter Pan, an adaptation of the 1911 novel about a magical boy who wouldn't grow up. Now, with the first-ever Blu-Ray release of the film in stores now, the Disney Store has teamed up with Diamond Select Toys to release the first-ever Disney Minimates, based on Peter Pan!

Two boxed sets of four Minimates mini-figures each will be available in early March. The first set will include Peter and three of the lost boys – Cubby, Tootles and Nibs – and Peter comes with a miniature version of Tinkerbell that can hover over his shoulder. The second set will include Michael, John, Captain Hook and a full-sized figure of Tinkerbell. Both sets will include standing bases to support each character, as well as one flying base each, so you can have Peter and Tink float above the ground.
