I'm Not Single, I Have a Dog
Once upon a time in America, marriage was the norm. But now, for the first time since the Bureau of Labor Statistics began tracking these numbers in 1976, there are more single Americans than married — a total of about 50.2%, or 124.6 million American adults are single.
Just as the single life overtakes marriage in the United States, a new book from McFarland Publishers hits the market. I'm Not Single, I Have a Dog: Dating Tales From The Bark Side is the perfect holiday gift for singles, anyone who ever dated the wrong person (and who hasn’t?), and the 63.4 million Americans who love their dogs. Celebrating the human/canine bond, this thoughtful and funny memoir is about acceptance, love, and finding your own happily ever after.

Tenacious Toys Announces Danger Dog the Pit Bull Vinyl Toy
Tenacious Toys, veteran online vinyl toy shop, just released their first self-produced vinyl toy.
Danger Dog is a 5-inch vinyl pit bull figure with 1 point of articulation. Danger was sculpted up by Mike NEMO Mendez from the original 2-inch size. Previously, Tenacious Toys released Danger as a limited edition 2-inch resin figure in several colorways.
Dead Hand Toys helped produced the resin tooling masters for the factory, and the dog itself is a 3D interpretation of the mascot logo developed for Tenacious Toys by Alex "Playful Gorilla" Rivera.

NYCC 2016: Lily Vs LineCon
by Lily Stitches
Hi there, your friendly neighborhood sparkly cosplayer here with my coverage of NYCC on Friday!
It was my first day at the con, and my theme this year was "Cute but comfy!" So I put my hair in pigtails, did my makeup and threw on my Valentine Variant Harley Quinn Bootysuit by Booty and the Geek (check out the website at buttday.com). Luna put on her super adorable pink sparkly Batgirl cosplay and we were quite the pair! We admittedly took our time getting ready, because from our Facebook feeds we kept seeing our friends posting about the absurd line to get into the Javits Center. And we were not disappointed by said line. We rolled up at about 11:15, when in past years we could stroll right up and into the con, this year we were greeted by a swarm of people and NYCC volunteers hollering at everyone to get into the line. No questions just get into the line. We saw friends of ours who said they had been waiting for almost 2 hours. It moved, slowly but surely. And we finally got in around 12:30. We said good bye to our line buddy JR Cosplay who was cosplaying a horrifyingly accurate Zoom and went straight to the Block. Our senses were immediately overwhelmed with the music, the attendees screaming at each other, and the colorful booths of awesome surrounding us. We tried to move around more, but it was wall to wall people.

SDCC 2013: The First Cosplay of Comic-Con Appears
We had bets going as to what time and what character would be the first to pop up on the streets of San Diego, ready for an eager camera to snap them up, then make their way to my desk. My money was on that anime character with the underboob and giant gun. She turns up everywhere. I saw her at a wedding just last week. Odd outfit for a caterer but who doesn't enjoy a good underboob? The first cosplay to actually turn up, right smack in front of the convention center, was a daring choice...not easy to pull off, a bit controversial, and not so comfortable to wear I'd think. It took commitment, dedication to staying in character and plain old American guts. A+ for picking obscure character too! I think they nailed it.
