Osgood Perkins' THE MONKEY

Neon Presents The Monkey Teaser Poster
Hot and still practically in flames (like a dumb vampire streaking in the morning sun) off their LONGLEGS success, Osgood Perkins and the NEON crew drop a teaser for their next nightmare-inducing cinematic feast. It's a little tale by Stephen King called THE MONKEY. Mostly known as a short story in King's collection "Skeleton Crew", the chiller involves the well-known and often feared cymbal-banging money toy we've all run from when discovered on the shelves at Good Will, wedged between a hairless Barbie and a fat bag of Power Rangers Movie Happy Meal toys. In this instance, the already horrific monkey is discovered by two brothers in an attic. The twist? THIS MONKEY IS CURSED!!! As expected, wackiness (and time jumping) ensues as the monkey's history with this particular family unfolds and a respectable death toll mounts.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Trailer Drops

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Teaser Poster

Director James Wan and Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa—along with Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Nicole Kidman—return in the sequel to the highest-grossing DC film of all time: “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.”

Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction.

An Insidious Double Feature September 12th

I'm liking this double feature trend! Movie tickets are so damn expensive, it would be nice to have some extras thrown in there now and then.

In anticipation of James Wan’s (THE CONJURING) new horror thriller INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2, FilmDistrict announced today that participating theatres nationwide will host THE ULTIMATE INSIDIOUS EXPERIENCE – a  one-night-only theatrical  event giving fans the opportunity to catch the original INSIDIOUS playing back-to-back with early access to INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2.

“INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2 picks up exactly where the original left off – making a double feature all the more gratifying,” said Jim Orr, President of Distribution for FilmDistrict.  “As we open the next chapter, this gives INSIDIOUS fans the chance to take the edge-of-their-seat thrill ride to the next level.”
