Described as the world’s first side-scrolling film, The Waves of Madness is the latest mind-bending project from cult writer/director Jason Trost (The FP series, All Superheroes Must Die). A visually arresting blend of classic horror influences and retro gaming aesthetics, this DIY tour-de-force has resonated deeply with both genre lovers and aspiring filmmakers around the world-proving that bold ideas, raw passion, and pure creativity can overcome any budget.

VS : Heroes Face a Horrific Twist

Four Super Heroes find themselves abducted by their Arch Nemesis and are forced to compete in a series of challenges in order to save an abandoned town full of kidnapped innocent civilians.
James Gunn messed with the chemistry of the typical super hero story in his film Super and if you think hard enough, you can trace it all back to Toxic Avenger as one of the first super hero films to break the standard, fairly family safe mold. Most recently, Max Landis gave us Chronicle; in which teenagers find themselves with powers a little beyond their control. This is a trend I'll applaud until my hands are red and swollen! Moooooore please. We'll be watching for screening dates for VS as they surface, but for now, dig the trailer...

How Long Will You Last in the FP?
Like a bastard child of Breakin' 2 and Prayer of the Roller Boys comes The FP. I often say all of life's troubles can be solved through break dance competitions. Well...someone was listening...and the future they propose is a scary, scary place. I lasted 8 minutes. Let's see how well you do.
In a dystopian future, a relentless turf war rages. Two rival gangs feud for control of rural wasteland Frazier Park ('The FP') in the deadly arena of competitive dance-fight video game "Beat-Beat Revelation." After hometown hero BTRO is slain on the dance platform by thug leader L Dubba E, his protégé younger brother JTRO (Jason Trost) goes into isolation, vowing never to duel again. One year later, The FP is in ruins, and JTRO must find the courage to return and restore order in a ruthless battle for revenge that can only leave one man dancing. From the producers of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY and featuring narration by James Remar (THE WARRIORS), THE FP is a fury of fierce footwork, triumphant montages and neon street wear that Moviefone calls "a rare ready-made cult hit."
I still can't tell if they are serious. Either way, I applaud the effort!
OPENS IN THEATERS NATIONWIDE on FRIDAY, MARCH 16th!
