Indie Horror ALL ALONE TOGETHER Opens Monday

Mark your calendars for ALL ALONE TOGETHER, a striking new vision of indie horror from a group of dedicated student artists, which arrives on VOD nationwide this coming Monday, July 7th!

ALL ALONE TOGETHER is the debut feature film from 4085 Productions, a student-run production company that began during the COVID-19 pandemic when four Los Angeles college students decided to combat their isolation through the art of filmmaking.

CHROMA + FANTASTIC FEST to Fund Indie Film with "Fantastic Pitches"

Chroma, a newly formed genre film label dedicated to the global distribution, acquisition, and production of bold, visionary genre cinema, is proud to announce its official launch. Leading the charge is Ahbra Perry, who has been named Vice President of the company, supported by a team of experienced distribution executives. In her new role, Perry will oversee Chroma’s slate and spearhead production efforts, with a focus on elevating filmmakers working with smaller budgets and creative visions.

The snow is melted and a warm breeze greets us every afternoon, which makes someone like me acutely aware of one thing. HOW LONG IT WILL BE TIL HALLOWEEN!! When you are this into horror, monsters, and supernatural vibes in general, every day is just part of a count down to the spookiest of seasons. As ambassadors of everything horror, SHUDDER is also locked in and will waste no opportunity to celebrate Halloween, and so, the half-way mark becomes a tiny holiday. We'll take what we can get.

Aladdin 3477: The Jinn of Wisdom

Following a long career as a pop culture artist, Matt Busch is stepping behind the camera for the debut of his first film in his own franchise: Aladdin 3477: The Jinn of Wisdom. Busch brings over three decades as an artist for Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings and more to the table as he takes the Arabian Nights tale into the far future and across the world. On January 3, 2025, audiences across North America will be able to rent or own Aladdin 3477: The Jinn of Wisdom on Cable VOD and Digital HD, including Apple TV, Prime Video and Fandango at Home from Buffalo 8.

In a futuristic Hong Kong, Aladdin, a street-smart orphan with dreams of ascending to the elite class, fixates on Princess Kamala of India. His life takes an unexpected turn when he's lured into a treacherous quest to Cambodia in search of a fabled lamp. Along for the unpredictable ride is Oomi, a homeless girl whose presence inadvertently thwarts Aladdin's every scheme.

NEON Sets Home Ent Launch for Sean Baker's ANORA

Award-winning film studio NEON announced today that Anora, the Palme d'Or-winning film from acclaimed writer and director Sean Baker, will be available for digital purchase starting tomorrow, December 17th. This launch comes on the heels of Anora’s record-breaking theatrical success, earning the highest opening weekend per-screen average of 2024, and the second highest PSA post-pandemic behind only Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City.

EAT THE NIGHT, An Apocalyptic Love Story with a MMORPG Twist

Altered Innocence released today the new US theatrical trailer and poster for French filmmaking duo Caroline Poggi & Jonathan Vinel’s striking sophomore feature EAT THE NIGHT. The film opens on January 10 in New York City at the IFC Center with directors in attendance before expanding to select theaters across the country. 

EAT THE NIGHT world premiered as part of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival as part of the Directors’ Fortnight section and went on to screen at BFI London Film Fest, Festival du nouveau cinéma, Reykjavik International Film Festival, and more. It won Best Director and the Prix de la Critique at the Champs-Élysées Film Festival in Paris.

Fantasia Film Fest: Elric Kane's THE DEAD THING World Premiere July 26

Yellow Veil Pictures is excited to return to the Fantasia International Film Festival for the world premiere of Elric Kane's debut solo feature, the obsessive and lust-driven thriller The Dead Thing. The Dead Thing will premiere July 26th as part of the 2024 edition of Fantasia with an encore on July 28.

The Dead Thing is directed by Elric Kane (host of the Pure Cinema podcast and Fangoria's Colors of the Dark podcast) from a script he co-wrote with Webb Wilcoxen. The film is produced by Matt Mercer (Contracted, Bliss) and Monte Yazzie, with Colors of the Dark co-host Rebekah McKendry (Glorious) serving as executive producer. Yellow Veil Pictures is handling worldwide sales.

Fantasia 2024: Spanish Sci-Fi Thriller INFINITE SUMMER to World Premiere July 27

Fantasia alum Miguel Llansó (Crumbs (2015), Jesus Shows You the Way to the Highway (2019) is excited to return to the Fantasia International Film Festival for the world premiere of his latest feature, the offbeat and emotionally resonant concoction Infinite Summer. Infinite Summer will screen July 27th as part of the 2024 edition of Fantasia.

Infinite Summer is produced by Llansó alongside longtime collaborators Rain Rannu and Tõnu Hiielaid of Tallifornia and their new American partners Allison Rose Carter and Jon Read of Savage Rose Films (Everything Everywhere All At Once, Zola). The film stars Hannah Gross (Joker, "Mindhunter"), Johanna Rosin, Teele Kaljuvee-O'Brock & Ciaron Davies as Dr. Mindfulness.

Lo-Fi Pandemic Comedy NEW STRAINS Returns to New York

In NEW STRAINS, Kallia and Ram have just begun their first vacation as a couple, and they’re already bickering. Though a strange new illness is on the brink of exploding into a pandemic, and despite Ram’s protestations, Kallia insists that they are going to have a fun week in New York City. Within hours of their arrival, a nation-wide lockdown is announced, ruining their plans. Over the course of their stay, they descend to absurd depths of jealousy and co-dependence. Is their childish behavior simply the result of cabin fever, or is it something more?

Apocalyptic Skater Punk Classic SHREDDER ORPHEUS Screening FREE in Orange County

This June 16th, The Frida Cinema in Santa Ana, California will be hosting a 4-film marathon from AGFA (American Genre Film Archive)! This is a FREE all-day event (must RSVP!) featuring the centerpiece title, SHREDDER ORPHEUS, the apocalyptic gutterpunk skate cult classic. The film screens at 6PM  followed by a Q&A with filmmaker, Robert McGinley.

Shredder Orpheus (1990) (dir. Robert McGinley): The story follows Orpheus, a rock star who descends to hell in order to save his kidnapped wife (and the universe) from Satan and his hypnotic TV signals. Dark Thriller NEW LIFE Opens in Select Theaters & On Demand May 3

Brainstorm Media’s NEW LIFE, the celebrated genre-blending horror thriller from John Rosman, releases in theaters and on demand in North America on May 3.

Rosman's feature directorial debut is a character-driven story that upends traditional horror conventions through its intimate exploration of mortality. The film follows the story of a mysterious woman on the run (Hayley Erin) and the resourceful fixer assigned to bring her in (Sonya Walger). As their two stories inexorably link, the stakes of their pursuit rise to apocalyptic proportions.
