NYCC 2024: Shudder Previews 2025 Film Slate
Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thriller and the supernatural, previewed its highly anticipated 2025 film lineup during a special panel at New York Comic Con 2024. The event, titled "Shudder is here to Scare the S*** Out of You," was led by Shudder’s VP of Programming, Samuel Zimmerman, and featured a distinguished group of horror industry talents including actors David Dastmalchian and Devon Sawa, musician and director Flying Lotus, actor and director Kate Siegel, and director Tina Romero. During the panel, Shudder revealed several key updates: the upcoming release of DARK MATCH, a wrestling-themed horror film debuting on January 31, 2025, and a first-look teaser for the sci-fi horror feature ASH, set for theatrical release through RLJE Films and streaming on Shudder in 2025. Additionally, Shudder confirmed the greenlight for the highly anticipated eighth installment of the V/H/S franchise.

Fantastic Fest 2024: Shudder Acquires THE RULE OF JENNY PEN Starring John Lithgow and Geoffrey Rush
Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thriller, and the supernatural, announced today that they have acquired the rights to THE RULE OF JENNY PEN, directed by James Ashcroft and co-written by Eli Kent and Ashcroft, and starring John Lithgow (DEXTER, THE CROWN) and Geoffrey Rush (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, THE KING’S SPEECH). The rights will cover North America, UK and Ireland. The film follows Ashcroft’s acclaimed feature debut COMING HOME IN THE DARK, which world premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. THE RULE OF JENNY PEN world premiered at Fantastic Fest 2024 this month and will debut on the streamer in 2025.

SHUDDER Renews THE LAST DRIVE-IN For 6th Season
The sixth season kicked off this month with The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs: The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon special on September 15, featuring special guest Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead). This season will also feature two Halloween-themed specials in October, a Holiday special in December and a Valentine’s Day special in February. Then, beginning in March 2024, Shudder will roll-out the new schedule of Joe Bob’s signature movie watch parties every other Friday night, featuring single titles and surprises.

ELEVATOR GAME, Based On The Terrifying Urban Legend
Based on the online phenomenon of the same name, ELEVATOR GAME follows socially awkward teenager Ryan, who ingratiates himself into a group of recent high school graduates that run an online web series debunking urban legends. But Ryan has a secret: His sister disappeared months earlier, and he believes they – and a dangerous online challenge called ‘The Elevator Game’ – were responsible. To play the game, you must ride the elevator in a specific sequence, invoking a supernatural creature called ‘The 5th Floor Woman’. In an attempt to gain more information as to the whereabouts of his sister, Ryan persuades the group to play the game once more, and risk unleashing the most fearsome consequences imaginable.
