Dread the Halls 2025

Image Comics Dread the Halls
Image Comics and Syzygy Publishing return with DREAD THE HALLS 2025, the third chapter in their fan-favorite holiday horror series! Following last winter’s breakout debut and this summer’s Dread the Hall H sell-out at San Diego Comic-Con, the team is back with a super-sized 72-page stocking stuffer of pure terror.

Co-created and written by Jordan Hart (Ripple Effects, The Cabinet) and Chris Ryall (Zombies vs. Robots, Megalopolis), Dread the Halls 2025 unwraps five wildly different tales that run the spectrum from suspense to splatter. Art drops by Luana Vecchio (Lovesick, Bolero), illustrating her first holiday tale—a 12-page yuletide riff that begins like a Hallmark Christmas movie and ends as a razor-sharp revenge story. Fábio Veras (DC’s Two-Face, Batman: Urban Legends) returns to render a chilling haunted-Advent-calendar yarn, while Lee Ferguson (Predator vs. Black Panther) brings a pitch-black carol to life. Rounding out the lineup, Keithan Jones—co-founder of Black Comix Day—makes his Image Comics debut with visuals for a Mars-red holiday frightmare.

CTHULHU Is Hard To Spell Volume 1

CTHULHU IS HARD TO SPELL VOLUME 1
Steeped in the mythology and gods of Lovecraft, CTHULHU IS HARD TO SPELL VOLUME 1 makes cosmic horror accessible to everyone! Including 20 stories from a diverse group of creators, this anthology embraces science fiction, history, humor, and ancient myths, for a rich and varied reading experience that broadens the audience's understanding of Lovecraftian mythology and monsters beyond the overrepresented stories most frequently retold and reprinted in anthologies.

Cthulhu is Hard to Spell is an anthology series steeped in the mythology and gods of Lovecraft. The stories inside its pages follow the spirit of Lovecraft, but sometimes stray from the tone of Lovecraftian horror, too! Sure, some of the stories in this book are Lovecraftian in nature down to their very core, but there are also funny stories, cute stories, fantasy stories, sci-fi stories, and much more that build on the Lovecraftian mythos.

SCOTT SNYDER Launches DARK SPACES Anthology Series at IDW

IDW Scott Snyder Dark Spaces Scifi Anthology
Scott Snyder, the #1 New York Times best-selling author and celebrated writer of Batman and American Vampire, will debut a chilling original comic book project in July: Dark Spaces, published by IDW.

Desperate people, desperate situations. In Dark Spaces, Snyder explores the decisions made—and irreversible actions taken—when the walls are closing in, when knuckles are white and teeth are bared. Each character-driven entry in the Dark Spaces anthology series is a fully contained, standalone story written by Scott Snyder. Championing the new generation of comic creators, Snyder will curate additional future projects fitting the Dark Spaces theme from promising young writers and artists.

“With Dark Spaces, I wanted to do something different. This is a chance to tell dark, grounded, character-driven stories that are totally unique. Plus, I wanted this to be a book where I could collaborate with a terrific up-and-coming talent like Hayden,” says Snyder. “It was also important to me to be able to hold the door open for even more new writers and artists. That’s why Dark Spaces: Wildfire is its own story, but will also mark the beginning of a line of new books featuring other writers and artists curated by me. Mark Doyle and IDW saw the vision and have been amazing partners in helping me build this space.”

Fantasia: VHS2 Reviewed

Horror’s newest Anthology series makes a speedy return with a second helping of quick creepers, all conveniently transferred to VHS tapes from their respective GoPros and HD Cams…cuz ghosts got mad editing skillz. Silly wrap around premise aside, I had a blast with the first round and have been looking forward to another helping, wondering how they might top a demon bird woman looking to get laid. The mind boggles. This time out, we kick things off with a man who gets an experimental camera eye replacement, allowing us to view the world whilst nestled snugly in his cranium. The one catch to this free cyborg upgrade..the eye allows the host to see ghosts and as most horror films go…when you can see them, they can see you..and touch you..and throttle you. Luckily a young woman who had a similar surgery and can now hear the ghosts comes to our boy’s rescue, saving him with her boobs and not much else, but at least she gave it a shot (and he gave her a shot. Sorry I had to. It was in my contract.) This segment is a quick guilty pleasure with no real direction and the sort of ghosts that just stand there while folks run off into the bathroom..which is, of course, the safest place in the house AND impenetrable to ghosts...until it isn't. But hey..at least there were boobs.
