Toy Fair 2015: Hasbro Transformers Kre-O Rolls On With Robots in Disguise & Classic Looks

This one will be a quickie! As we dig through the mountains of Toy Fair 2015 coverage from UK and Germany, and the bits that drop into our email from pr reps and friends alike, it becomes a constant struggle to figure out what is actually new and what has been seen by super fans already, but maybe not the rest of the planet. Often, the choice to run a story comes down to "Damn, that's cool. DO EEET!" Hey, it's not rocket science. Today we'll take a quick look at some new Kre-O Transformers bits from Hasbro! Fans had speculated the line was nearing the end of days with poor sales reported and Toys R Us remaining one of the few retailers supporting the product. Here's what we've uncovered...

Build a Better Star Trek Universe

With all the properties that have come and gone from building sets, it is quite shocking that Star Trek has never gotten the brick treatment before! All that is about to change with Hasbro's new Star Trek Kre-O line this Spring of 2013. Sure, the key elements are based on the sequel to the newest rebooted film series, but beggars can't be choosers...and hell, Hasbro has always said "if you buy it, we'll make more!" This is absolutely one situation where money will do the talking. Plus...there may be surprises below...

The KRE-O STAR TREK sets will offer high-quality KRE-O bricks as well as new KREON figures in the likeness of popular characters. Among its additional new play experiences, Hasbro will also offer robust line of roleplay toys for kids and fans to act out the intergalactic saga as well as select new figures.

Star Trek Kre-O Sets Premiering at Comic-Con

At Comic-Con, the KRE-O brand from Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) boldly goes where no one has gone before. Based on the upcoming STAR TREK sequel from Paramount Pictures and directed by J.J. Abrams, the KRE-O STAR TREK line, under license from CBS Consumer Products, features a variety of vehicles from the movie along with fun KREON figures based on iconic STAR TREK characters. Fans will be able to see the KRE-O STAR TREK U.S.S. ENTERPRISE set and KIRK, SPOCK and BONES KREON figures for the first time in person at the Hasbro Comic-Con booth (#3213) beginning on Preview Night, July 11.

Toy Fair 2012 : KRE-O Battleship & Transformers

Last year Hasbro got into the construction brick game with Transformers kits, giving you your favorite giant robot characters with directions to built your pieces into both vehicle and bot modes and their version of mini-figures which were, as expected, adorable. If the catalog at UK Toy Fair was any indication, the sets didn't quite catch fire, as most of the listings are for things we've seen on discount at retailers. There were some new items though..


KRE-O Transformers

Decepticon Ambush : Kids can play out cool Transformers battles with this KREON 4-pack. This set includes 4 Transformers KREONs, accessories, and bricks to build a cool setting for the battle.

Cycle Chase : Same text as above. Whom ever wrote this really didn't give it their all, did they?

Also new is a KRE-O Transformers Decepticon Helicopter set with 3 KREONs and a little buggy for the humans.










We had hoped Hasbro would extend their lines to include G.I. Joe, but if Transformers underperformed, that might be a plan in limbo. Instead, Hasbro chooses to test the waters with another property involving military battle against an alien force. BATTLESHIP!
