Dear Hollywood: Critics Can Be Fans Too

**Spoilers mixed in here so beware!**

There's an odd disconnect in this country. I see it in two places primarily. One is when people talk about celebrities or people they perceive as celebrities. There is an accepted level of badmouthing and ridicule that happens when speaking about these individuals in very public places...never mind that the internet makes the world so small that the subject of these talks can usually see the postings...and that not all "celebrities" are off boating in Spain, using 100's to light their cigars...and the small fact that the individual is human with feelings. In a world so hellbent on shielding disenfranchised folks from the cruelty of bullies, we sure do have double standards for if and when that protection comes into play. The other point of disconnect is with "critics", who are spoken of as if they are a race of creatures separate from the bipedal ruling class of the planet Earth. These beings spout baseless opinion, often agreeing with each other as the winds of trend dictate, spreading falsehood and furthering an agenda to crush films they unanimously decide are unworthy. This is all ridiculous, of course, but read the comments across the internet pointing to reviews of the recent, reigning box office champion Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and you'll see it's not far from what some people are saying.

UPDATED!: Batman vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice Toys Arrive.. with Expected Spoilers

SPOILERS being the operative word in this article. Do NOT continue reading if you don't want elements of Batman Vs Superman ruined!
The trailer was...well...I don't want to call it epic, as it seemed more like the combination of many many elements swished around in a pot and flung against a wall ..you know..to see what sticks. We've got a world reeling after the colossal battle in Metropolis that ended when Superman nearly twisted General Zod's head off. Superman takes on an armored up Batman in scenes ripped right from the pages of The Dark Knight Returns and after a bit of a tussle, it seems they have bigger fish to fry with this film's version of Doomsday on a rampage. Wonder Woman ...and we assume, eventually, the rest of the soon-to-be members of the Justice League...step in to join the battle. We've been told this mini Doomsday isn't the only enemy the League will face in their first fight..and now new toys from Mattel may make it clear who steps up to beat down the forces of good.

Jakks Pacific Scales Up With Batman V Superman

JAKKS Pacifics line of "Big-Figs" took consumers by surprise some years back. While most companies were shrinking down to 3.75 inch size and cutting back on articulation and paints to drop their price point and maximize their peg space in retail stores, JAKKS went....TOTALLY in the other direction, but with similar thoughts in mind. Their line of large scale figures may be light on paint applications, but you can't deny the level if detail they bring in at that scale..or the fun of a MASSIVE figure of your favorite pop culture icon..or the super low price! Now JAKKS tackles the long awaited Batman V Superman feaure film from Warner Bros and upon first glance, I'd say they are going to be putting out some of the best stuff on the market.

SDCC 2015: The Full Batman V Superman Trailer Goes LIVE

You've all been on the fence about this movie. Well...maybe that's generous. A lot of you resoundingly shouted "IT SUCKS!" and have continued to shout it every day since the teaser trailer was "leaked" to the internets. I've been keeping my expectations low. Very low. I even waited in line for 2 hours to watch the same teaser you all viewed from the comfort of your own homes, on the offchance Zack Snyder was going to show us ...just a little more. Indeed..there was a tiny bit more, but two guys in super hero costumes charging each other didn't go a long way to ease my mind. This latest trailer....it's working on me!

Henry Cavill in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice"

As the colossal cast still seems to be building, we've gotten our first look at Ben Affleck as Batman and a fair amount of his Batmobile. Now, Warnerbros gives us a sneak peek at a somber Henry Cavill as Superman in the upcoming, sure to be epic (in scope, if nothing else!) "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice". Not much to write home about here...no changes to the suit it seems..and if it ain't broke, why fix it, right? We know the ladies love to look at Henry, so here's your eye candy for the day...

We Love She-Hulk...But Not In That Way

Hi. I'm Paul Nicholasi, editor of Idle Hands and the guy that posts most of the things you see here. If it's super snarky, it's probably fallen out of my mouth. Yesterday, we were made aware of some comments from uber film and comic book writer David Goyer that irked me to no end. Let me lay this out for you.

*Warning: Strong Language Ahead*

The Mary Sue reported Goyer took part in an interview panel of screenwriters before a live audience, held by an outlet called Scriptnotes. Goyer has his hands on many a DC film project these days, and so it wasn't long before those involved were doing anything they could to squeeze a sense of what these upcoming films would be like from the man, without outright jedi mindtricking him into spilling the beans on the films directly. As conversation dipped into each well known comic book character (even beyond the DC Comics stable), the topic moved from Hulk to She-Hulk...and that's when things took a hard left turn.
