Friends, booze and a dawning apocalypse: what could go wrong? The answer: a lot, apparently, and The World's End does a great job of documenting it.

Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost once again manage to join drama, action and a healthy dose of British humor in this final installment of a film trio that includes the fantastically successful Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Something about this one is different, though. The World's End, despite its ridiculous premise, draws on something real and solemn that any adult can relate to. Sure, it's a movie about a group of buddies re-connecting through a perilous adventure around their hometown's watering holes. Sure, there are robots and over-the-top fight scenes and Pegg rocking a painfully 90s getup that had me cringing through the duration of the screening.

It's not every day we even have the time to consider sitting in a panel in the middle of the madness that is San Diego Comic Con, but when Edgar Wright calls, we come a'runnin. Emilie Noetzel beams in her report.

Matt smith was at the World's End party last night. Chris Hardwick thinks the movie is fantastic, says it did feel like it had a Doctor Who element to it. "Retitle it Doctor Hooch as it has Doctor Who element" Says Edgar. Simon Pegg feels like Gary (his character) is like the "Dark Doctor." Gary is a bit of dick, villain and hero, nutcase... Dickishness is explained. Gary is stuck in the 90s. Their Tardis is beer. Nick Frost is Andy, the buttoned up character. They play different character (types) as they wanted to change it up. Nick Frost says he (Andy) is a hardnut. They say they are closer to their Shaun characters (in real life).

Attack the Block = Chavs VS Aliens

If I'm still using the term Chavs correctly. I had an idea for a film like this about 2 years ago, but it was Brooklyn Vs Mega Giddrazilla in which the Earth was being attacked by a giant Godzilla like creature which quickly wipes out New York City and when it turns to Brooklyn, there is the greatest stand off ever seen in modern film....or the dumbest battle the creators of Jersey Shore could ever dream up...either way. Now, the producers of Shaun of the Dead bring you ATTACK THE BLOCK "From the producers of SHAUN OF THE DEAD and SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD comes ATTACK THE BLOCK, a fast, funny, frightening action adventure movie that pits a teen gang against an invasion of savage alien monsters. It turns a London housing estate into a sci-fi playground. A tower block into a fortress under siege. And teenage street kids into heroes. It’s inner city versus outer space." Who could lead this ragtag band of lovable, homicidal moppets completely desensitized by Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto? NICK FROST to the rescue! Who better, eh? Websites list the release date as May 11th, but that's most likely in the UK. Keep watching here and we'll let you know if and when it will reach American soil.

He's come from the stars. Why? Perhaps because he is a fan of Spaced and Shaun of the Dead. That would be enough for me to make the trip. Whatever the case may be, the new teaser trailer for PAUL has landed and we've got it for you. Here's hoping for comedy magic from my favorite Brits once again!

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost reunite for the comedy adventure Paul as two sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America’s UFO heartland. While there, they accidentally meet an alien who brings them on an insane road trip that alters their universe forever. For the past 60 years, an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogan) has been hanging out at a top-secret military base. For reasons unknown, the space-travelling smart ass decides to escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town—a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy (Pegg) and Clive Collings (Frost). Chased by federal agents and the fanatical father of a young woman that they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship. And as two nerds struggle to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes.

Wackiness, ensues, natch. Since Pegg and Frost wrote the thing, I've got high hopes!
