Zombify Your Desk with The Walking Dead

It's been a while since we took a look at the zombie collectibles coming soon from McFarlane Toys and NECA (4 months to be exact), so we thought it was time for an update on what you can expect and when with official pictures from both parties. Let us begin the toypocalypse...

McFarlane excited the toy world with their return to the realm of action figure horror they helped spark in the first place. The real worry for the super toy nerds (like myself) was that they would be in a 5 inch format; the scale they have seem to taken a shine to with their HALO figure line. Happily, the lines will be in a 6 inch scale. Sadly, the rest of the zombie action figure world has been in a 7 inch scale (ironically to match McFarlane's Movie Maniacs line), so they'll look a little short. Oh well. You can't deny the level of detail and speaking of which... to pack a little more playability into this line AND remind people who started this plastic gore parade, McFarlane have added their own special effects! SDCC: Dark Horse's Nerdy Domo Figure

Since 2008, Dark Horse has rewarded San Diego Comic-Con attendees with an exclusive product based on viral sensation Domo. Hailing from Japan and adored all over the world, Domo has captured the hearts of pop-culture fans everywhere!

One of the highlights of this year’s event will be the special appearance of Domo creator Tsuneo Goda, who will be visiting from Japan as a sponsored guest of Dark Horse. Various events are planned, including a spotlight program, autograph sessions, and the release of the new Domo and Friends boxed set of PVC figures. To add to the excitement, Dark Horse has collaborated with Hong Kong toy company Toy2R to create a special exclusive Qee toy version of Domo.

“We have supported Comic-Con for over twenty-five years,” Dark Horse product development head David Scroggy observed, “and it thrills us to be creating a couple of genuinely special releases that contribute to the celebration while adding value for the convention. This is the greatest fan event, and since we are fans ourselves, we have pulled out all the stops!”

The Comic-Con exclusive shows the fuzzy brown cave dweller embracing his inner geek, resulting in a one-of-a-kind Nerd Domo Qee figure. Only 1,200 of this unique Domo piece are being offered, with a limit of four per customer. Sales will be at the Dark Horse booth.

Young Steven Sievers travels the world with his Super Pirate Booty Hunt crew looking for adventure, danger, and all manor of geekery. Earlier this week he was rubbing elbows with the stars of THOR!! Today, he delivers a stack of eye candy for his fellow nerds who have been drooling over Mattel's amazing SDCC exclusives lineup from the second it aired on G4. Not pictured are Stay Puft, Ghoulia, the Carol Ferris Barbie and what's in the Back to the Future box. WHAT'S IN THE BOOOOOOX??!! For those that missed it, here's the short version of the list and details:

Swamp Thing - $30 - This 9 inch tall figure comes packed in a recyclable/bio-degradable vacuform mask! Features articulation hidden under his rubbery body, comes with a base and 2 of the Un-men, who will not be available when this figure is available on Mattycollector.com.
















Blazing Sword Voltron - $30 - A 6 inch version of your favorite Lion-bot with 22 points of articulation, his sword and a second semi-translucent sword as it looks as its being formed. A sound chip in the box he comes in recites the whole opening of the show.






























Ghostbusters Stay Puft Marshmallow Man - $70 - Standing over 20 inches tall by Mattel's measurements with a soft, squishy foam body, still allowing for articulation at the head, arms and legs. SP comes in a giant diorama package that folds out into a city scape.

Young Justice Superboy in Cloning Chamber - $20 - Goes with your 4.5 inch figure line, pictured in his white outfit as he was found in the cloning chamber in the first episode. The chamber itself has a button on the front so I expect it will light up and maybe even say something?!






















Monster High Comic Con Ghoulia - $20 - A limited edition of the most popular doll in the series dressed as her favorite zombie super hero, Dead Fast. Ghoulia comes with a miniature Dead Fast action figure and a Dead Fast fan fic book that she wrote and illustrated herself.

Masters of the Universe Polly Pocket She-Ra Set - $20 - Comes with Polly as She-Ra, Lea as Frosta and Crissy as Catra in slide open reveal display packaging.




























Barbie Blake Lively as Carol Ferris from Green Lantern, the Movie - $35 - Dressed in her green flight suit with a working zipper, she comes with her pilot helmet that features the Sapphire logo and Star Sapphire icon. Sculpted to the likeness of Carol Ferris from the film, she also features an articulated body.

Green Lantern Movie Masters Kilowog - $25 - Standing at nearly 8” tall, this is our biggest, boldest Kilowog to date!
