SDCC 2025: Gen V Levels Up at Comic-Con

On Friday at San Diego Comic-Con, fans packed the Gen V panel as Prime Video debuted the official trailer for the highly anticipated second season of the acclaimed spinoff series set in the Emmy Award-winning world of The Boys. This season of Gen V introduces key events and revelations that feed directly into the final chapter of The Boys. The first three episodes premiere September 17, exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Cast members Jaz Sinclair, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Hamish Linklater, and showrunner Michele Fazekas took the stage for the exciting panel, which was moderated by franchise fan favorite cast member, P.J. Byrne.

SDCC 2025: The Boys Omnibuses Back to Print

Dynamite Entertainment announces an ambitious plan to go back to press on the full set of paperback omnibus editions of The Boys. This will allow the new inventory to be accessible to the publisher, and to retail partners through new distributors, and timed with the next content from the streaming adaptations on Amazon's Prime Video.

New printings of all six paperback volumes are solicited again in the August for October Dynamite Dispatches catalog, solicited for October 1 release, but planning to arrive in stores earlier at the beginning of September ahead of the September 17 debut of the second season of Gen V and leading to the fifth season of The Boys in 2026.  Therefor these books are on FOC this weekend for retailers to order, and we suggest that retailers order aggressively in case demand is high due to the success of Gen V as the next printings will be printed overseas.

Cast members Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, London Thor, and Derek Luh participated in the thrilling panel where they revealed that the highly anticipated second season will premiere on Wednesday, September 17. The first three episodes will debut exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. New episodes will then be released weekly, leading up to a full-throttle season finale on Wednesday, October 22.

Today, during the Emmy-winning series The Boys’ Hall H San Diego Comic-Con panel, it was announced that The Boys world is expanding to include Vought Rising, a prequel to The Boys, starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash. The exciting news was revealed when Ackles surprised the SDCC audience by coming on stage and tossing to a video from Cash. Past spinoffs from the world of The Boys include Gen V and The Boys Presents: Diabolical, both streaming exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Prime Video Greenlights Season 2 of 'The Boys' spin off 'Gen V'

Prime Video announces that it officially ordered a sophomore season of the global hit series Gen V, which comes from the world of The Boys. Gen V, from Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television, began its eight-episode freshman season on Friday, September 29, and will conclude with an epic season finale on Friday, November 3. The series streams exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. 

“Expanding the universe of The Boys with a series as bold as Gen V has been an incredible journey for us and our wonderful partners at Sony. From our first conversation with showrunners Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, along with Eric Kripke, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen, we knew Gen V would push the boundaries. The official teaser gives audiences a peek into life at Godolkin University, America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International). From the world of The Boys comes Gen V, which explores the training of the first generation of superheroes to know about Compound V, and that their powers were injected into them, rather than God-given. These young, competitive heroes put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s highly coveted top ranking. They quickly come to learn that ambition comes with sacrifice, and the difference between right and wrong is not as clear as they once believed. When the university’s dark secrets come to light, the students must come to grips with what type of heroes they are going to become.

THE BOYS Return September 4 for Season 2

Amazon Prime Video today announced that the hit superhero satire The Boys will premiere the first three episodes of its second season Friday, September 4, 2020. New episodes will be available each Friday culminating in an epic season finale on October 9. The news comes on the heels of the cast coming together for a virtual event, hosted by season two guest star Patton Oswalt, that looked back on season one and also dropped hints for the upcoming season. The eight-episode Amazon Original series will be available on Prime Video in more than 200 territories around the world, and is produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television Studios with Point Grey Pictures, Kripke Enterprises and Original Film.
