Three Theories on Agent Coulson's Return

By now most of you have seen the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiere, but for those of you who have not, I can't yell SPOILER WARNINGS loud enough.

So the day has come when Marvel Comics begins it's slow march to dominance over your Television, and is certainly the night all of nerdom claims victory over nearly all media. I mean..we'll never crack that musical code, will we? I think not....but MC Chris is still working on it. For me, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. had giant sized shoes to fill, what with all the people I know who saw the pilot in advance acting like it was the second coming of JC. There was little hope the show would meet such high expectations, and yet, I was still hopeful. What I got was a decent beginning. The characters are a bit stale, the settings uninteresting and the story line, one we, as intense geeks, have seen time and time again, so overall, the result was..again..a decent beginning and nothing more. Let's hope the show creators take the ball and instead of running with it, set it on fire and make this show their own with excellent Marvel Universe references throughout and mind blowing scenarios I probable drew with crayons as a baby dork. All well and good, but that's not what you came here for. We need to talk about Phil.

With the debut of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC just days away, eFX Inc. is marking the historic occasion with a New York Comic-Con exclusive edition of its replica Phil Coulson S.H.I.E.L.D. agent badge and ID card.  As a New York Comic-Con exclusive, fans can join the ranks of S.H.I.E.L.D. – at least, they’ll have the credentials to prove it.  (Getting past security may be a whole different matter.)

D23 Expo: First Impressions of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Pilot

**WARNING!!** SPOILERS AHEAD. IF YOU WANT TO GO INTO THE SHOW FRESH THIS SEPTEMBER, DO NOT READ ON!**  Text by Steve Sievers
It's Sunday at D23 Expo and the last big thing for the convention is the pilot screening of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. After getting there early Saturday to hop into one of the last spots inside Disney's Live Action Movie presentation, I figured I'd better get there plenty early for the S.H.I.E.L.D. screening. We arrived two hours early only to find a mere 200 people in line for a screening taking place in an arena which is about half the size of SDCC's Hall H. I asked a security person if this was the S.H.I.E.L.D. screening. He said yes. I then asked people in line if this is the S.H.I.E.L.D. screening. They said yes. I still didn't think this could be it! I went so far as to find a second security person to make sure. When we were let in I was surprised to see that the arena did not, that's right..DID NOT fill up.

When the lights in the Arena finally went dark and the film began to roll with a roar of approval from the audience, it brought back memories of seeing The Avengers movie. After all that waiting, we were finally getting to see it. Then I thought, will this live up to the hype?!? An hour later and all I can shout is YES!

Agent Coulson Meets Lil Agent Coulson

It never fails. Show an action figure to the person the toy is made after and a look of childlike glee spreads across their face. Well..it did fail once. I was at the press junket for The Amazing Spider-Man and was able to bring Andrew Garfield together with his first ever likeness on an action figure in the Diamond Select Minimates line. He seemed...less than enthusiastic. Never the less, we expected no small amount of ridiculous cheer from Clark Gregg as he held his Hot Toys 12 inch action figure for the first time. Hot Toys sent over some words on the meeting...

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Trailer Goes LIVE!

So, in case you missed it, this IS taking place right after the events from The Avengers, so Coulson being alive is not the stuff of prequels. Someone will have to tell us what the hell happened there. Joss Whedon was on hand at the ABC NY Upfront and remarked that this show is about ordinary people trying to cope in an extraordinary world..and that's exactly what we should be getting in a TV show! What else do we want? Plenty of references within the Marvel Universe, nods to movie events, new characters and perhaps some lifted right from the comics and, of course, Coulson LIVES!! Seems like Whedon is down to give us all that and more, with a gooey emotional center. Tune in Tuesday nights at 8 on ABC! Coming soooon...
