Hot Toys Finally Digs Up Marvel Zombies

Do you know how hard it was to get Marvel Zombies action figures BEFORE Marvel was owned by Disney?  ...Pretty damn hard! Marvel Zombies was a hit with comic fans and Marvel left it to Diamond Select to release three figures to celebrate the title. Zombie Hulk, Zombie Colonel America and Zombie Spider-Man are still favorites of action figures fans and fetch a hefty price today. Despite the popularity of the title, Marvel shut down further merchandising after a string of sculptural pieces, stating they were concerned fans would get confused by the horrific look of their iconic heroes and the license would be tarnished in the long run. Years later, we'd get a Zombie Sabretooth and Zombie Magneto to add to our collection, but again, despite the excitement behind these releases, it seems the breaks were put on further undead Marvels.

It's time for another epic Marvel Cinematic Universe movie release, and this round, we've got very high expectations. With a 94% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Director Taika Waititi hopes the general public in the states will love his take on Thor's little corner of the Marvel Universe as much as critics, and a large chunk of the world, already has. Thor: Ragnarok premieres today, so I thought i'd take this opportunity to celebrate the ever evolving toys we've gotten over the years celebrating the god of thunder. Thor is one character that's always been lucky enough to be immortalized in plastic, time and time again, giving fans many an opportunity to pick their favorite ones, or fill up an entire apartment, like Gollum sitting atop a mound of painted plastics in funny metal hats.
