Disney Jr. Greenlights ‘Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends’

Today, Disney Jr. announced the greenlight for “Marvel’s Iron Man and his Awesome Friends,” the first preschool Iron Man series which will feature a young Tony Stark (Iron Man) and his world-saving besties, Riri Williams (Ironheart) and Amadeus Cho (Iron Hulk). The young trio work together to make the world a better place, protecting their city and each other. From Disney Branded Television, the series is currently in production and slated for a summer 2025 premiere on Disney Jr. and Disney+. The new series is part of Disney and Marvel’s expanded strategy to introduce these iconic Avengers characters and stories to a new generation of fans.

The Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailer is EVERYTHING

There are areas of the Marvel Universe that have made it to the big screen and yet, never quite captured the full perfection of its comic book counterparts. The X-Men stand as the most glaring abuse with countless films that ignore the core systems that made the comic so popular in favor of explosions, FX gimmicks that never fully pull the trigger and over use of a shirtless Hugh Jackman. Spider-Man has been another pitiable character with countless award winning comics and yet, each film crew seems to understand how to capture part of that magic, but not the whole mindblowing experience. There always seemed to be something missing. Now, we've come to the first trailer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man: Homecoming. I've had very few expectations going in. Peter Parker's debut in Captain America: Civil War was extremely satisfying but we'd not fully seen his world. Now we get a nice, long look...and it's everything I've always wanted.

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite Video Game Trailer LIVES *UPDATED

Rumors of a NEW Marvel vs Capcom game have been rumbling around for quite some time, with questions centered around who Marvel would allow front and center for this epic video game throwdown. Those with fond memories of Wolverine's "Berserker Barrage" could shelve that enthusiasm, along with dreams of the return of Sabretooth, Juggernaut and the rest of the X-Men Universe. Those with visions of Fantastic Four heroes and villains...will face a similar let down, to be sure. Of course all this is not set in stone, but as the FOX/Marvel rift still remains, it seems unlikely anyone not owned (at least in part ...lookin at you Spidey) by Marvel Studios would be left on the bench. Still...HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN SINCE WE GOT AN AWESOME VIDEO GAME WITH MARVEL COMIC BOOK CHARACTERS??!! Welp..it's time. And as expected, it is glorious...

Cosplayer Maki Roll is Iron Man

This is not the story about a girl who dreamed of being a super hero, though i'm sure she has. This is also not the story of a cosplayer making a costume so awesome we geekfreaked the hell out, though we have (hnng Gamora). This is the story of Maki Roll, who woke up today ready to give a hearty middle finger to a world constantly screaming "All Lives Matter!" and found out she was the new Iron Man. Live that dream lady. Of course, in the official press release, you'll find no mention of Maki, but pictures don't lie. LOOKIT!!

Robert Downey Jr Giving Out FREE ROBOT ARMS!!

WATCH WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!! In a world where we often have cause to use phrases like "those rotten bastards" (often) and the Invader Zim screaming standard "LIES!! ALL LIES!!!" ...it's nice to be able to form a sentence that begins and ends with a simple, happy, pleasing sentiment. Here it comes. Robert Downey Jr is a swell guy. When super hero Albert Manero; a #CollectiveProject student who founded the fantastic, instant tear-inducing group called "Limbitless..whose sole purpose is to quite literally GIVE LIMBS to kids who have none; put out the call for support of his group, i'll bet he never dreamed the man waiting in the wings to give a helping had was actually a comic book character. Enter....Tony Stark; volatile fictional millionaire super hero played by real-life-millionaire super hero Robert Downey Jr, who took time out of his busy schedule of pressing the press flesh for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron to slip in to his Tony persona and present a little boy with a bionic arm. Cue picture of the guy from Scanners with his head exploding and gather your tissues. This is EXACTLY what we needed this morning.

Toy Fair 2015: More Mighty Marvel from Hasbro

Back into the post UK, post Nuremberg, pre-NY Toy Fair 2015 show!!  WOOO. We should put all that on a t shirt. It's kinda catchy. Hasbro hops back into the kiddie pool with a stack of toys that may delight children while angering long time adult fans who will be found in the isles shaking boxes yelling "WHY AREN'T YOU A MARVEL LEGENDS AVENGERS LINE??!! YOU ARE WASTING MY PEG SPACE!!!" We are a passionate lot. Not a lot of info to go with this latest batch, but we've got little bits of knowledge to share along with the customary eye candy...

Reporting for Duty at the Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Exhibition in New York City

We don't get paid much, and our accolades are few, but there are PERKS to writing for tiny little geeky websites! One such perk is being invited to fun happenings in the tri state area..and you'd better believe the Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Exhibition was on our radar from the first second they announced it was in the works, so when they said COME ON DOWN...we practically lined up that night.

The exhibition had a bit of a rocky start, from a number of perspectives. A call for press to come on a preview night got the attention of our excellent photographer Galaxia Siandre, who arrived ready to take a bazillion pictures and play with all the buttons. ALL THE BUTTONS. Sadly, half the displays didn't seem to be active yet and the ones that were were swamped by children in an already over crowded venue, so Galaxia shot what she could, grabbed an official SHIELD cupcake (damn good bakers that save the world I suppose) and headed back home.

Marvel Infinite Series Action Figures: Wave 1 Reviewed

Marvel Universe is BACK! ...well...sort of. The return of the Marvel Legends 6 inch scale to the pegs in force sent up many a cheer among the toy buying hordes, but the deep sobbing from those who had come to love the 1:18th scale figures could be heard as well. Would the line continue? Would they pick up right where they left off or reboot the whole darn thing in favor of a "simplified" figure design for the kiddies who have just discovered the mighty Marvel Universe via The Avengers. The arrival of pre-orders for Marvel Infinite Series Wave 1 action figures ended all speculation...AND NOW THEY ARE HERE. Good..Bad...Dan Curto is the guy with the camera...and many opinions. Take it away Dan!

Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United Reviewed

Annnnd we're back! Amid the gears of the Disney multi-media machine, the straight to DVD feature length Marvel animated adventures return with a tale we've been teased for some time now.

When two HYDRA scientists try to supercharge a Stark Arc Reactor with Hulk’s Gamma Energy, they unleash a being of pure electricity called the Zzzax – and he’s hungry for destruction. Together, Iron Man and Hulk are the only force that stands in the way of the Zzzax’s planetary blackout. But first, the Super Hero duo will have to get through snarling Wendigos, deadly robots and the scaly powerhouse, Abomination. Can two of Marvel’s mightiest Heroes find a way to work together without smashing each other before time runs out?

Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United Minimate Offer

The Blu-ray and DVD are headed our way December 3rd with the mind blowing CGI that made that Max Steel cartoon from some years back so damn..umm..popular? appealing? cutting edge? Listen, we know if you are a die hard Marvel fan, you're probably not looking forward to this DVD, and I can already report I attempted to show the film to a bunch of friends last weekend and we got 20 minutes or so in before we unanimously voted to switch over to some film with Sam Jackson cursing a lot (which could mean one of 500 films). Hulk makes constipated faces, Iron Man sounds like Spider-Man and the main bad guy appeared to be Zzzax..which is about as exciting as it sounds. One shining moment has Hulk using Iron Man as a club, but that's as awesome as it gets..well..in the initial moments we've watched so far...but I digress.

Robert Downey Jr Signed for Avengers 2 and 3

There were plenty of rumors surrounding this news. My favorite, and most plausible, was that Robert Downey Jr was a bit disgusted with the pay his Avengers co-stars were getting, so he used a re-negotiation to get them a better rate. Whatever the truth behind the story may me, one thing is for certain today. ROBERT DOWNEY JR IS IRON MAN!! ...at least for 2 more movies.

Love it or leave it, it seems the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon isn't going anywhere for the foreseeable future. His world is only a couple of steps away from the Mighty Marvel Cinematic Universe, and so, you must suck up all those moments where Spidey turns into a fat lil Spidey and hide your tears over the loss of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. I'M STILL NOT GETTING OVER THIS!!! Today, Marvel sends over a couple of clips from upcoming Ultimate Spider-Man episodes, and while he is perpetually teamed up with his hodgepodge teen super team, these clips show your favorite wall crawler going back to back with members of the Marvel elite. Bendis Talks Guardians of the Galaxy in Marvel Now

We don't talk a whoooole lot about comics here on Idle Hands, but I thought, what with a Guardians of the Galaxy movie being one of the most talked about topics in the geekiverse at the moment, let's take a closer look at this book and get some insight into the big screen event!

Ultimate Spider-Man Season 2 Teaser

 Disney XD is gearing up for another season on a Teen Titan-esque Spidey fighting side by side with teen versions of Power Man, Iron Fist, White Tiger and Nova as well as guest appearances from Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk and Wolverine.
