SDCC 2026: MARVEL’S Midnight Universe Casts a Shadow on Comic-Con

The light had its turn.

Just now at the Marvel Comics: Midnight Universe Panel at San Diego Comic-Con, all three Midnight writers—Jonathan Hickman, Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Benjamin Percy—shed more light on their bold titles and their shared vision for this terrifying new line. Revealed during the panel were the second issue covers for each title—MIDNIGHT SPIDER-MAN, MIDNIGHT FANTASTIC FOUR and MIDNIGHT X-MEN—along with the unveiling of additional variant covers. Attendees also received an early black and white Midnight Universe ashcan preview, which will be available at local comic shops in the near future.

NYCC 2025: Marvel Comics Announces the End of the Ultimate Universe

Just announced at New York Comic Con, Marvel Comics’ ULTIMATE UNIVERSE concludes next year, bringing an end to a line of blockbuster titles that ignited the industry with bold storytelling and captivating new versions of iconic characters.

During Marvel’s Next Big Thing Panel, Head of Marvel Comics and Franchise Dan Buckley, Editor in Chief C.B. Cebulski, Senior Editor Wil Moss, Ultimates writer Deniz Camp, and Ultimate Wolverine writer Chris Condon revealed information on the final issues of all five Ultimate titles to a room of surprised fans: ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #24 in December, ULTIMATE BLACK PANTHER #24 in January, ULTIMATE X-MEN #24 in February, and ULTIMATES #24 and ULTIMATE WOLVERINE #16 in April.

Marvel TV Into 2025

There's been a very noticeable slowdown in the amount of Marvel media content thrown to us by our Disney lord and masters. Most likely the underperforming of certain films caused higher-ups to apply the breaks a bit. Sometimes you just need to take a couple of steps back and reassess. And so they did. And we felt it. You go from being a spoiled comic book reading kid with three Marvel films a year and at least 2 TV projects to gobble up...to..whatever this sorry existence is!!! Yes, I am being dramatic, but if Marvel doesn't hurry their asses up, I'll be watching my first X-Men movie when I celebrate my 70th birthday. LET'S GET CRACKIN!!

SDCC 2024: Marvel Comics Announces the Next Big Thing

Each year at San Diego Comic-Con, fans gather at the Next Big Thing Panel to discover the biggest shakeups coming to Marvel Comics! This year was no different—in addition to revealing a teaser for ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM, a new status quo coming to the Marvel Universe following Blood Hunt, Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski and a host of Marvel creators announced exciting new series, teased upcoming storylines, and debuted trailers for VENOM WAR and WOLVERINE: REVENGE!

Among the series announced was WEST COAST AVENGERS where writer Gerry Duggan and artist Danny Kim fire up this iconic team with a superstar lineup of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including a seemingly redeemed ULTRON, on sale in November! Fans also learned about December’s ULTIMATE UNIVERSE: ONE YEAR IN, a special one-shot finale to the first year of Marvel’s hit new Ultimate line; and Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness’ 8 DEATHS OF SPIDER-MAN, a bold saga coming to the pages of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN starting in November, which will also debut a new DOOM-inspired Spider-Suit!

Godzilla Marches Across the Marvel Universe

This year, Marvel Comics proudly reprints its classic ‘70s Godzilla comic book series in GODZILLA #1 FACSIMILE EDITION and the highly-anticipated GODZILLA: THE ORIGINAL MARVEL YEARS OMNIBUS, collecting Doug Moench and Herb Trimpe’s entire 24-issue run in color for the first time! Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse Live In Concert To Launch August 27

An all-new national tour launching August 27 in Jacksonville, Florida will bring fans in more than 60 cities a whole new way to experience their favorite box office hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The Academy Award-winning film from Sony Pictures Animation will be accompanied by a live orchestra, band and turntables with a scratch DJ playing music from the score and soundtrack. Joining the tour is The Broadway Sinfonietta, an all-women and majority women-of-color orchestra. Emily Marshall will serve as the tour’s conductor. Today’s tour announcement comes on the heels of the show’s sold-out world premiere at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn this past March. Now, the concert tour will spin and weave its way through the U.S. 

Meet the New Arachnids of Across the Spider-Verse

We return to the Marvel Universe and a dimension where the walls are so thin, a street-level superhero might meet their doppelganger at any moment!! The new installment of the animated Spider-Man series, Across the Spider-Verse, hits this coming week with our favorite wall-crawler, Miles Morales, taking center stage alongside enough alternate-universe Spider-People to populate a whole soccer team. Across the Spider-Verse will see the return of Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen as they battle baddies and make contact with multiple Spider-Folks across the Multiverse. Shenanigans ABOUND!! If you are wondering why merchandise for this film is dropping now, it's pretty simple. The original release date was October 7th, 2022, making NOW the 2-month-til-release mark (when we usually get toys for the big movie releases). Then, when the movie drops, we generally get a second wave that includes characters that were under wraps. Across the Spider-Verse was shifted to a painful June 2, 2023 release date, with part 2 releasing March 29th, 2024. Regardless of these new facts, the toy lines were already in production and so...here's Spidey!
