Fear The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season Special Edition

Following an initial release this past December, Anchor Bay Entertainment announced today the latest inventive and heart-racing AMC original series “Fear the Walking Dead: The Complete First Season” arrives on SPECIAL EDITION on March 22, 2016. Created by Robert Kirkman (“The Walking Dead”) and Dave Erickson (“Sons of Anarchy”), “Fear the Walking Dead”, premiered in August as the #1 show in cable history. These 2-disc sets with collectible lenticular packaging include hours of bonus content including 5 deleted scenes, 7 newly produced featurettes and audio commentaries on every episode.

Living in the same universe as “The Walking Dead”, “Fear the Walking Dead” is a gritty drama that explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family. Set in Los Angeles, a city where people come to escape, shield secrets, and bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability high school guidance counselor Madison Clark (Kim Dickens, Gone Girl) and English teacher Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis, “Missing”) have managed to assemble. The everyday pressure of blending two families while dealing with resentful, escapist, and strung out children takes a back seat when society begins to break down. A forced evolution, a necessary survival of the fittest takes hold, and the dysfunctional family must either reinvent themselves or embrace their darker histories.

The Walking Dead: Mid-Season Premiere Trailer **Spoiler Warnings**

When we last saw our merry band of miserable zombie apocalypse survivors, they were about to wade through a sea of the undead with only their fabulous coats of many bloody colors to mask their delicious, meaty human aroma. Of course, a somewhat unhinged, yelling child might throw a wrench in those plans. WHOOOO WILL BE EATEN??!! Tune in February 12th and find out! Until then, AMC provides a little trailer tease of what's to come while reminding us of what's in play, and what's at stake.

McFarlane Walking Dead Comic Series Figures Wave 3

Seems McFarlane is stepping up their output of Walking Dead merchandise! Are they fearing a slowing in popularity rise, or worse, a decline? From a collector's perspective, this is the first time in..well..ever..that you could walk into a store and scoop up ANY walking dead action figures. Pegs seem to be retaining Andrea, The Governor and the Riot Zombies from the last TV wave and The Governor and Penny from the last comic wave, at the moment. So does this mean McFarlane are finally meeting demand and shipping enough, are the retailers finally on board and ordering the correct amounts for the rabid, zombie loving public, or are the scalpers finally backing off as the figures hit more stores in greater numbers? My bet is a little bit of all three. Whatever the situation, Comic Series 3 is on the way!

Further Adventures of The Walking Dead in 2015

It's a universal constant. Wildly popular TV shows get spin-offs. All in the Family had The Jeffersons, Different Strokes had The Facts of Life, and The Facts of Life had George Clooney. Now, AMC looks to stretch that zombie dolla dolla bill and prolong the undead shelf life if it's most popular TV franchise (ducks from Breaking Bad fans) with a new show set in that same, rotting universe.

We’re super excited to announce that AMC is in development of a companion series to The Walking Dead, slated to premiere in 2015. Robert Kirkman, Gale Ann Hurd, and David Alpert will return as executive producers.

Toy Fair 2013 : McFarlane's Walking Dead TV Series 3 & Comic Series 2

You know what's the worst thing about doing a show thousands of miles away? You can't point at something and yell GO GET MORE OF THAT!!  Today, that lack of pointy power became apparent while digging through UK Toy Fair images. It seems our cadre of ninja photographers came across McFarlane's Walking Dead TV Series 3 action figures but, not being horror fans and only familiar with pics we had posted, they said "We've seen these before...moving on.." Sad panda. Luckily. I'd asked them countless times to shoot a couple of shots here and there just in case, when in doubt. SO..the good news is we can see what the actual TV Series 3 figures look like in person. The bad news is they are allllmost Yeti shots (a term you should be familiar with by now, referring to an object fleeing the camera, resulting in a blurry blob of varying degrees.) Oh well. They aren't all too bad. For better or worse, here are the goods with our info from a past article...

The Walking Dead Official Magazine Issue 1 Reviewed

Zombie Mania has gripped the public at large and shows no signs of slowing down any time soon! Did you ever think you’d see a day where the “normal folks” are talking about a TV show where people get eaten now and again?! I…did not. With a new season of The Walking Dead on AMC and October filling the air with thoughts of lovely Halloween spookiness, Titan thought it would be the best time possible to launch The Walking Dead Magazine! I was lucky enough to be sent a copy to pour over and report back to alert the real fans if we had some zombie opportunists trying to infiltrate our wallets. I’m happy to report TWDM wears its love right out there on its sleeve. This is a magazine created to fill in the blanks for new fans, give further detail to those who have been following for years and pack in as much minutia in as wide a range as possible for the die-hards.

More Walking Dead Collectibles from Diamond Select & McFarlane Toys

Have we already established how awesome it is that we live in the future where we have a show about a zombie apocalypse blowing up TV screens around the world AND a movie coming to the big screen called Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter??!! One has nothing to do with the other...just pointing out the overwhelming awesome. Let's take a look at two companies bringing more zombies goodies to shelves near you...

Diamond Select's Walking Dead Zombie Bust Bank: We first caught wind of this at the International Toy Fair 2012 in New York City and now, the pre-orders are dropping.

Unlike the characters in Robert Kirkman's ongoing comic series The Walking Dead, our future isn't threatened by a zombie apocalypse (so far), so why don't you start saving for it? Put aside money for your zombie-proof dream house in this 8-inch vinyl bank depicting a lurker (or is it a roamer?) from the Walking Dead comic book, via the change slot in his back. Perched atop the book's now-famous logo, this gruesome character will keep any weak-stomached burglars from plundering your nest egg.

Pre-orders should be breaking wide any day now with a delivery date of November, 2012.

McFarlane Toys Walking Dead TV Series 2 Action Figures: 2 weeks ago we showed the preliminary images for the latest Walking Dead action figure series. Now, thanks to Carmelle Marshall ( on Twitter @TimeEnuffAtLast & on Facebook @ http://facebook.com/carmelle ), we've got new pics of Rick Grimes & the Bicycle Girl Zombie! Entertainment Earth has the whole series up for pre-orders now if you'd like to pounce on that.

We've also got some new pictures of the Walking Dead Season 2 Limited Edition Blu-ray case, also courtesy of Carmelle Marshall, and also created by McFarlane Toys. This limited edition statue is based on a bust from the Walking Dead television series on AMC as designed by Emmy award-winning special effects make-up supervisor and co-executive producer, Greg Nicotero. The limited Blu-ray 4 disc season 2 set will be available in Q3, 2012.

Toy Fair 2012 : Diamond Select : The Walking Dead

Robert Kirkman, creator and writer of Image/Skybound's hit comic, "The Walking Dead," and writer/Executive Producer on the international hit television show based upon it, has joined forces with Maryland-based Diamond Select Toys, who will handle the toy license. DST has a 13-year-long history of producing quality toys and collectibles, many based on established comic book and horror properties, and is happy to be able to bring the book's well-developed characters and gruesome zombies to three-dimensional life as a line of Minimates and figural banks.

Skybound is Kirkman's imprint at Image Comics, where Kirkman and artist Charlie Adlard continue to produce the top-selling graphic novels in the country with "The Walking Dead." They topped the New York Times' bestseller list and captured four of the top ten spots for 2011 with "The Walking Dead." The AMC TV show based upon the survival drama comic garnered the highest ratings of any drama in the history of basic cable television in the United States with over 11 million people watching the season two premiere last October. As the first TV drama to be launched around the world simultaneously, "The Walking Dead" is in 120 countries, translated into 33 languages and is in 250 million households.

"We've all been following The Walking Dead since the first issue, and we are amazed at Kirkman's continuing ability to draw new readers into his epic, post-apocalyptic tale," said Chuck Terceira, director of Diamond Select Toys. "With the book's profile deservedly raised by the show's success, we thought the time was right to add it to our iconic toy lines. We feel that fans of our Universal Monsters and Ghostbusters Minimates lines will flip for our "Walking Dead" assortment, which includes key characters like Rick, Glenn and Andrea, as well as plenty of 'lurkers' and 'roamers.'"

"Diamond Select Toys has made some great toys over the years, and I am thrilled that they'll be taking on The Walking Dead next," said the book's writer/creator, Robert Kirkman. "I think a Minimates line has endless possibilities, and I can't wait to see all of my characters in their tiny 2-inch forms."

Toy Fair 2011 : McFarlane's Walking Dead TV and Comic Figures

McFarlane Toys and Todd McFarlane will be debuting “The Walking Dead”, HALO Reach and officially licensed NBA, NHL, MLB and NFL 2011 action figure lines at TOY FAIR 2011!

In one the most creative action figure collaborations of 2011, McFarlane Toys announced today two separate deals concerning the licensing rights of “The Walking Dead.” The first is with AMC to create action figures based on the original series that premiered on the network in October of last year. The second is with Robert Kirkman to also create action figures based on the comic-book series created by him. This is the first time action figures have been produced and both lines are available to retailers this Fall.

“Kirkman has created a world that is macabre and suspenseful with deeply-drawn characters: both human and zombies,” said Todd McFarlane, McFarlane Toys, creative force and CEO. “Working with the creative talents of Kirkman and AMC, we have planned figures lines that authentically represent both the television and comic series – including mind-blowing details, likenesses and play action. We want to push the envelope so that the true essence of ‘The Walking Dead’ series is captured.”

The first series of deluxe 6-inch figures is releasing in September 2011, includes four fan-favorite characters from the Image comic book including:

THE WALKING DEAD Series 1
Officer Rick Grimes
Michonne
Zombie Lurker
Zombie Roamer

The second series of deluxe 6-inch figures is revealed in November 2011 and introduces four figures based on AMC’s original drama including:

THE WALKING DEAD Series 2
Deputy Rick Grimes
Daryl Dixon
Zombie Walker
Zombie Biter

Each human figure includes multiple interchangeable accessories and several points of articulation for limitless possibility and customization. Each zombie figure features unique, gory, play action such as exploding heads and removable limbs. Figures are expected to sell for around $14.99 at retailers nationwide.

“I simply cannot contain my excitement over working with McFarlane Toys,” said Robert Kirkman, creator of “The Walking Dead” comic-book series. “For nearly two decades McFarlane Toys have proven themselves to be leading the pack when it comes to making cool looking, innovative toys, and I'm thrilled that they're going to continue to do so with ‘The Walking Dead.”

AMC’s “The Walking Dead” is based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics. The series tells the story of the months and years that follow after a zombie apocalypse. It follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home. The comic goes on to explore the challenges of life in a world overrun by zombies who take a toll on the survivors, and sometimes the interpersonal conflicts present a greater danger to their continuing survival than the zombies that roam the country. Over time, the characters are changed by the constant exposure to death and some grow willing to do anything to survive. AMC’s “The Walking Dead” attracted 3.5 million adults in the 18-49 demo making it the most watched drama series in basic cable history for the demo. The series was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Drama.

During the 90-minute event, moderator Eric Moro of IGN.com will lead panelists in a discussion about their experience shooting the “The Walking Dead,” and the process of bringing Kirkman’s comic book to life on the small screen, among other topics. The panel will be followed by a Q&A session with attendees.

About “The Walking Dead”
“The Walking Dead” tells the story of the weeks and months that follow after a zombie apocalypse. County Sheriff Rick Grimes (Lincoln) travels with his family and a small group of survivors, constantly in search of a safe and secure home. But the constant pressure of fighting off death on a daily basis takes a heavy toll, sending many to the lowest depths of human cruelty. As Rick struggles to keep his family alive, he will discover that the overwhelming fear of the survivors can be far more dangerous than the mindless walkers roaming the earth.
