Want to See an Animated Dragon's Lair Movie?

To a kid drinking in entire worlds of 8bit graphics in arcades across Brooklyn, the amazing animation fueling the action of Dragon's Lair was mindblowing. The game had a fairly dark sense of humor (and some adult art in regards to the heroine), setting it apart from cartoons we'd see on TV and in movies, cementing fond memories of gameplay and leaving behind legions of loyal fans who would go on to make action figures, art and cosplay characters, always there to tell the creators we would never forget. Welp...I think it finally sank in!

Prepare Your Cleavage for Virtual Battle with Girl Fight

In a time when women are struggling for positive depictions of women in comic books and film to combat this horrific wave of over sexualized pop-idol party nymphs, we are presented with a new video game called Girl Fight.

Developed by Kung Fu Factory, Girl Fight is an arcade-style 3D fighting game featuring a cast of woman warriors who have been abducted by a shadowy corporation to experiment on the potential Psi Powers of these deadly ladies.  As part of their virtual reality experimentation, each fighter creates a unique arena based on their respective life memories bringing a vivid backstory for each character.

Sounds nifty, right? I would have been sold on this alone, were it not for the ridiculous lesbionic image emblazoned across the game's cover (to your left, in case you missed it.) Cheap ploy for a male dominated video game system's attention, I'd say. I guess they have no interest in your lady gamer dollars, though I'm sure a percentage of you ladies would play if the payoff was digital groping for the victor. Prev. Reverb sends over some gameplay footage and images that may sway your opinion, if you aren't already too annoyed to continue. We couldn't dump that trailer on here, as it needed to be behind an age gate and we don't have that super power, so here's another trailer. No clothing is torn off here, so...I guess that's a step in the right direction...

A New LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Video Game Trailer

You know what's great about the LEGO games? You can play with your 8 year old nephew without much high stress and when he has proven to be a brat and insists you are hogging up all the coins for yourself, you can spend the rest of your time chasing each other around looking for things that will blow up the other person. Such is my family. That was LEGO Batman. I can't wait to see what sort of LEGO pain we can inflict on each other with LEGO HULK!!! Actually, it will probably be dueling Hulks the whole game. My nephew is no fool.

Video Game Freddy Joins Video Game Jason

If we are to discuss "What exclusive item wore its fandom right out there on its sleeve and caused a HUGE word of mouth swell at San Diego Comic-Con 2013" leading to, what I'd expect, was a massive hoard of buyers at the show and an even larger hoard rushing to online sources to be sure they were not shut out, then we need look no further than NECA and their Friday the 13th Video Game styled Jason action figure...complete with glow in the dark parts. HOLY GRAIL!! Now, NECA has decided Jason needs a friend and who better than the nightmare demon with the unholy back scratchers?

Harry Potter for Kinect!

First, Star Wars enabled you to use the force to wallop your foes upside the head in as real a way as you possibly could. NOW, Warner Brothers Interactive would grant you a Hogwart's education and the gift of wizardry to back it up...well...on your TV at least. I'm sure that won't stop you from casting curses on people in the check out line at Shoprite under your breath, but they still won't burst into flames. Noted? Good! Moving on!

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Eurocom will cast a spell among Harry Potter fans of all ages this fall with the “Harry Potter for Kinect” videogame exclusively on Kinect for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

Based on all eight Harry Potter films, “Harry Potter for Kinect” allows players to join Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger as they embark on an unforgettable journey through Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and beyond. With Kinect’s scanning technology, for the first time ever in a Harry Potter game, players will be able to scan in their own face to create a unique witch or wizard to journey through the adventures of the film.

In addition, Kinect’s hands-free and voice recognition capabilities allow gamers to cast spells using physical maneuvers and by calling out spell names, offering an extraordinary, immersive Harry Potter experience.

“‘Harry Potter for Kinect’ will engage Harry Potter fans old and new by bringing them into the wizarding world as truly active participants,” said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “Kids and parents will enjoy recreating their favorite Harry Potter adventures, from flying a broomstick in a Quidditch match, to battling pixies and dueling other wizards.”

“Harry Potter for Kinect” gives players the opportunity to experience some of the films’ most memorable moments, both as the relevant characters or as their own avatars, including visiting Ollivanders, choosing a house at Hogwarts, and confronting He Who Must Not Be Named in a climactic final battle. Players who master their lessons can also take on their opponents in competitive mini-games, or join forces with family and friends in co-op gameplay.
