Ash vs Evil Dead... The POP UP BOOK

Days like this..it's good to be the press. Mystery boxes are the best part of the job and when you have as short an attention span as I do, it's very easy to forget when someone asks for your address to send you "something"! Today, a plain little brown box showed up via my favorite Fed Ex delivery guy with a stamp on the front that read "TIME SENSITIVE MATERIALS" and the name STARZ below it. Forgetting that Starz is soon to be home to a man known as @GroovyBruce for his new show Ash vs Evil Dead, I popped it open...and no..no...I was not ready. The "What's In The BOOOOX" scene in Seven? Forget it. The odd glow coming from the briefcase in Pulp Fiction? Pales in comparison. My friends...today Starz has gifted us with a freakin POP UP BOOK with the car that went to hell and back, a Deadite popping out of a shower and the man himself, Ashley Williams, complete with blazing chainsaw. Yes, I am in the middle of New York Comic Con coverage at the moment (filling up our Flickr as we speak), but I had to take some time to show off this little slice of fried gold. Jump in below and watch the video!

Billy Zane Addresses His Army of Heartbroken 14 Year Old Fans

As is the ever spinning cycle of pop culture, fad and fashion, what was once popular may still yet return. Such is the case for mega cult film star Billy Zane whose unforgettable films like The Phantom and Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight won him the hearts and minds of millions of dedicated fans across the globe. Now it seems Mr. Zane is experiencing the resurgence in popularity that he so richly deserves! Screaming, squealing, somewhat angry and absolutely heartbroken teen and pre-teen girls have taken to the internet to show their undying love and support of Zane. This unprecedented spike in popularity can't be tied to any new projects announced as Zane's last 9 projects are still listed in various states of pre or post production and "Zombie Killers: Elephant's Graveyard" has not quite reached the level of instant cult classic status we had previously thought it might. Still, the endless tweets speak for themselves! Here's Billy Zane graciously reading some of them for his adoring public...

Public Outrage as Muppets Most Wanted Gets No Awards

OUTRAGE! The internet is all about it. Your favorite TV show includes a twist you don't agree with? Flip a table over. Your favorite comic book company resets their entire universe, effectively deleting the best parts of your childhood? Burn down the city. Today, the citizens are about to riot over Muppets Most Wanted not getting one award nomination. NOT ONE. Sure, the film doesn't come out til March 21st, but logic won't stop a good, ole fashioned riot. It's cleansing. Here are your favorite floppy armed friends responding to the deafening public outcry...sort of.

The Awe Inspiring Call of Duty: Ghosts Single Player Campaign Trailer

We don't cover a lot of video games, unless it is the nerdiest of the nerdy or pulls so hardcore on your retro heart strings, we have no choice, but I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic adventure (as evidenced by my recent devouring of Revolution season 1 in a 3 day sitting) and this new game play trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts is...just...the stuff that awesome aspires to be.

The franchise that has defined a generation of gaming is set to raise the bar once again with the all-new Call of Duty: Ghosts. Published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward, the studio that created the original Call of Duty and the critically-acclaimed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series, Call of Duty: Ghosts ushers in the next generation of the franchise, delivering a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast, all powered by a new next-generation Call of Duty engine.

Kermit & Miss Piggy Celebrate the Birth of the Royal Baby

It's all anyone was talking about across Twitter yesterday. With San Diego Comic-Con wrapped up, it paved the way for far less important chatter across the interwebs..namely the impending arrival of a royal baby. I get it..who doesn't love a baby? They come out all squishy and alien eyed. Adorable. Kermit and Miss Piggy of "Muppets Most Wanted" took a break from filming today to lend their congratulations to the royal couple, which led to some mommy pangs from Piggy...and a somewhat awkward moment. Yes, it was far more awkward than that time Piggy "borrowed" all of Martha Stewarts good china during her Christmas show, but not as awkward as thinking about a frog and a pig getting it on to make babies. Hit the jump and enjoy!

Allmost a Thriller

Now that poor Michael is gone, it seems his estate will sell the license to just about anyone. Enter Marusan, makers of model kits and these little vinyl collectible Michael Jackson figures that appear to have been resurrected from the 80's. These two are (obviously) based on the 2 pivotal moments in the legendary "Thriller" video, complete with soft vinyl masks to turn them into bobble head looking horrors. They "might" around 10 inches, but it's hard to tell as all sites with info are in Japanese. The release date is set for the tail end of January, 2010, so keep an eye out if you are interested. Now, while I am a fan of retro feeling toys, is it too much to ask for some definitive MJ Thriller action figures?? Transforming Mikes in both of these outfits would be awesome and a must buy for most hardcore collectors, so why all the vinyl, cartoony pieces? Yes, I've seen the awesome 12 inch figure as well, but it's not the same. GIVE ME PLASTIC!!!
