IDW Publishing Unleashes Godzilla vs Mighty Morphin Power Rangers II

Godzilla vs Mighty Morphin Power Rangers II
Pop culture icons collide in GODZILLA VS MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS II from IDW Publishing in partnership with Toho International, Inc and BOOM! Studios.

The evil Rita Repulsa joins forces with mysterious new allies Astronema and the Alliance of Evil to cause a whole new level of chaos. This action-packed cosmic crossover will also feature familiar foes like SpaceGodzilla, Clawhammer, Tentacreep, and more.

Eisner-nominated writer Cullen Bunn returns for round two of the fan-favorite crossover, and this time the author is joined by awesome artist Baldemar Rivas. Bunn promises this is a crossover that fans of both franchises cannot miss because it will not only deliver fan service, but also some kaiju-sized surprises as well. “If I was going to pit Godzilla against the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers again, I knew I needed to do something huge,” stated Bunn. “Mayhem alone was not enough! And, believe me, what we’re doing in this new series is something wild and unexpected and game-changing! If you’re a Rangers fan… if you’re a Godzilla fan… if you’re a fan of bonkers fun… buckle up! This series is going to knock you off your feet!"

Details On Bill & Ted's Most Triumphant Return

Award-winning publisher BOOM! Studios is most honored to announce the excellent return of the most outstanding time-travelers of the '80s and '90s in Bill & Ted’s Most Triumphant Return. Taking part in Bill & Ted’s non-heinous return to comics is accomplished wordsmith Brian Lynch (TMNT: Microseries, Angel: After the Fall, screenwriter of the Despicable Me spin-off feature film, Minions) and stellar illuminator of fine comics Jerry Gaylord (Fanboys Vs. Zombies). There will also be totally resplendent back-up stories in each issue, including a short by the excellent Ryan North (Adventure Time, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl) and non-bogus artist dude Ian McGinty (Bravest Warriors, Munchkin) in issue #1.

“San Dimas, California’s favorite sons, Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted 'Theodore' Logan, are making a most triumphant return to comics—and the telephone booth—this March,” said BOOM! Studios Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon. “Brian’s scripts are hilarious and Jerry’s art channels all the magic of Bill and Ted’s first excellent adventure. We couldn’t be happier! This series is going to rock as hard as the Wyld Stallyns.”

Bill and Ted are Back with a BOOM

The teaser went out and..well..it wasn't much of a teaser. We all know we live in a magical time when any of our childhood loves can suddenly resurrect to either usher in a bright new dawn (lasting about 3 weeks to a year) or bring on an apocalypse of dorky whining that will have us plugging our ears and running out of rooms going LALALALALALALALA for the foreseeable future. Boom! Studios is known for ushering in the happy...at all times...so we trust them......no Baysplosions...

Boom writes in:

We are indeed launching a new Bill & Ted comic book series, set to debut in March. The six-issue miniseries is called Bill & Ted’s Most Triumphant Return, and is set after the events of both films, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. In this series, Bill & Ted must now fulfill their destiny as the inspiration of galactic harmony, and they start by using their time machine to travel to the 27th century to turn a young Chuck De Nomolos into a fan of Wyld Stallyns.

Boom! Studios Six-Gun Gorilla Trade Reviewed

I remember the time of the monkey...when all you had to do to sell a comic or cartoon was put a monkey on the poster and ..KaPow..Gold. These days, I'm told the giant gorilla on the cover of "Six-Gun Gorilla" may be hampering sales as readers most likely expect a gimmick book with a gun totin', wise crackin' ape at the center of the action. While that prospect does sound tedious, I'm happy to say THIS book offers so much more. The press blurb offers little insight, or deviation from your misconceptions...
Welcome to “the Blister” -- a bizarre other-world colonized by humans sometime in the 22nd century, which quickly became a hotly-contested source of fertile land and natural resources long ago exhausted on Earth. In this new frontier, a rogue gunslinger and his companion wander across a wilderness in the grips of a civil war, encountering lawlessness, natives, and perversions of civilization in a world at the crossroads between the past and the future. The fact that said gunslinger is a bio-surgically modified silverback gorilla toting a pair of enormous revolvers is neither here nor there.

Popular webcomic creators Frank Gibson (ADVENTURE TIME 2014 ANNUAL) and artist Tyson Hesse (BRAVEST WARRIORS) bring their wacky adventures to life in comics for the first time!

Boom Studios Resurrects "Big Trouble in Little China"

“You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this?” This June, BOOM! Studios will tell you just what ol’ Jack Burton says in his continuing adventures in BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA, a new, ongoing series from comics favorites Eric Powell (The Goon) and Brian Churilla (The Sixth Gun: Sons of the Gun). The cult-classic film combined ‘80s supernatural action with ‘70s kung-fu flicks, and BOOM! has the film’s original director, John Carpenter, working alongside Powell to bring that over-the-top spirit to the comic.

“It’s already been a rewarding journey bringing ol’ Jack Burton back for new adventures and we're just barely getting started,” said BOOM! Studios Editor-In-Chief Matt Gagnon. “I have fond memories of watching BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA, cracking up at Jack Burton and his plight. I always thought there were so many more stories to tell with that character and the world he inhabits. So putting together the amazing team of Eric and Brian for this series, along with the guidance of John Carpenter, has been a dream come true. Now everybody can truly relax. Jack’s here.”

Clive Barker's Nightbreed Returns

Being an outcast is tough, but being a monstrous creature is even tougher! This May, BOOM! Studios’ new horror series CLIVE BARKER’S NIGHTBREED shows that monsters aren’t hiding under your bed—they’re walking among us. Writer Marc Andreyko (Manhunter) and artist Piotr Kowalski (Marvel Knights: Hulk) bring us all-new stories featuring the characters that captivated us in the 1990 film. Before Fables, before Once Upon a Time, horror master Clive Barker created a secret town of monsters that live among us. Don’t worry if you’ve never seen the film or read the novella that inspired it—Barker and Andreyko have crafted stories that all horror fans can enjoy.

“Keeping with the tradition of telling new stories in canon with HELLRAISER, we’re very excited to continue that method with Clive Barker’s cult-favorite NIGHTBREED,” said BOOM! Studios Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon. “Marc Andreyko, in addition to being a gifted storyteller, is a die-hard fan of NIGHTBREED. And artist Piotr Kowalski—who some fans will remember from his stellar work on Hulk—is pushing his style to savage new places. We have the makings of a fan-favorite horror series right out of the gate with this one.”

BOOM!'s Chief Executive Officer and founder, Ross Richie, noted, "Our creator-friendly model ensures that creatives are rewarded financially as they generate the franchises of tomorrow. Your Adventure Time Comic Check List

Yes, we are aware #1 of this comic is all that has come out so far, but did you know HOW MANY different #1's are out there at the moment??!! I...did not. I was even at San Diego Comic Con and didn't snatch up the very first one. Bummer. Boom Studios sends over this handy dandy visual check list so you can hunt down these covers and have the most mathmatical Adventure Time comic book collection EVARRRRRRRRRRRR.

Fans should keep in mind, while Diamond Comic Distributors is completely sold out, first and second printings of ADVENTURE TIME #1 may still be found at a direct market retailer (ie; comic shops and such) near you. Not sure where to find your nearest comic retailer?
Use www.comicshoplocator.com to find one!

Diamond Comic Distributors is making the third printing of ADVENTURE TIME #1, featuring an all-new cover drawn by Chris Houghton, available for retailers to order immediately.

ADVENTURE TIME #1 is the first installment of the exciting new ongoing ADVENTURE TIME series written by Ryan North (DINOSAUR COMICS) with cover art and interiors drawn by Shelli Paroline and Braden Lamb (THE MUPPET SHOW, ICE AGE: ICED IN) with a back-up story by Aaron Renier (THE UNSINKABLE WALKER BEAN) and epic cover by Chris Houghton.

In this first issue of ADVENTURE TIME join Finn the Human, Jake the Dog, and Princess Bubblegum for all-new adventures through The Land of Ooo! Don't miss out on the phenomenon!

Need more convincing? Here are the first 5 pages of #1 to get you hooked...

Issue #1 takes us into the land of Ooo with your hosts Finn and Jake (naturally) squaring off against the Lich who threatens to suck the entire planet into his bottomless bag of nothing!! If there is one subject the Lich knows a lot about, it's sucking. (that's a Jake joke. not from the comic.) The humor is quirky, the fist bumps a-plenty and the art is awesomely true to the cartoon. What more could you ask for? Here's a sneak peek at the covers of the next two issues!
