Why Marvel NOW?

They've been pelting my email box...wearing away at my curiosity wall. Before DC's New52, my purchases were almost completely Marvel with titles like New Mutants, Deadpool, New Avengers, Thunderbolts and Uncanny X-Force topping my list of must buys....but things were starting to get stale..and overly complicated. Gone were the days when those good ole' mutant boys would pick up a bat and some gloves and just rile each other up before someone like Juggernaut came to ruin the party. It was just no fun. The NEW52 piqued my with characters I was always interested in, but worlds that shifted too wildly from day to day...and were too numerous. HOW MANY EARTHS DO YOU NEEEED??!! Seeking to get back to basics and attract a new generation of readers, the NEW52 was born, and with it came a giant sized press push, which was well deserved for a gutsy move such as revamping your entire comics empire.

In steps Marvel NOW, with wordage in each press release that does not commit to such a radical revamp, but promises endless possibility through fresh ideas and new directions.

Hot Toys 12 inch action figures are, as yet, untouched by all comers in quality, likenesses, accessories and general "more bang for your buck"..as well they better be for the starting price! Fuck, if NECA charged over $100 for each figure, I bet you the damn things would walk you home. Not to take away anything from Hot Toys...but you get my meaning. For the newbs, when you buy a Hot Toys 12 inch figure, you can be sure to get alternate hands, a wide array of accessories, a stand, some if the best fitting cloth clothing you've ever seen on a toy and amazing sculpting and paints. Many a fan has been spotted petting a Hot Toys box in the middle of Comic-Con.

Now Hot Toys have been building their Avengers movie team, no doubt just as excited for the film as you have been and it shows in the work, wouldn't you agree?! So far we've seen Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Nick Fury, Black Widow (from Iron Man 2, so there is still a possibility for an update), half a dozen Iron Men (with a Mark VII on the way), a teaser for the enormous Hulk and now...LOKI!

Toy Fair 2012 : More Avengers Toy Images

Will there be anything left to see when Toy Fair 2012 actually starts in 2 weeks? Doesn't look like it right now, does it! I'm sure there will be the odd new surprise product here and there, but with all the major properties spilling out from a crack in the proverbial damn, it certainly will be an underwhelming show! I hold out hope for some new, killer toys though. Until then, LET'S LOOK AT SOME MORE AVENGERS STUFF!! Today, Hasbro spilled the beans on a crate full of their upcoming Avengers movie toys.
