Bif Bang Pow Roll Out More LOST Figures

Now, your first impulse is going to be to spit your drink out when you see these, at which point I will direct your attention to the big writing on the bottom of each pic that says PROTOTYPES..as in these figures are far from done..and from the look of them, they've got a long way to go before completion. Next I'll direct your attention to the Venture Brothers MEGO style figures and point out how..not so good..those looked at the beginning. Bif Bang Pow doesn't churn out drek, so they went back to the artists and sure enough, these things are now a slice of fried gold. SO..chorttle all you like, but I assure you, the finished products will be miles better than these...somewhat awkward prototypes I wish they hadn't shown in the first place. AND NOW..without further fanfare and fireworks..we present the newest members of the LOST MEGO-esque figure line coming March 2011! The lineup includes...

Miles (Freighter Outfit)
Claire (Preggers and ready to pop)
Jack Shephard (Oceanic Flight Outfit)
Sayid Jarrah (Oceanic Flight Outfit)
Sawyer (Dharma Security)
Juliet Burke (70's Outfit)

Pre-orders are up NOW on http://www.entertainmentearth.com/

SDCC 2010: Bif Bang KA-Pow! Pop Culture Toy Overload

Bif Bang Pow are wish masters. We said "Dear Lord, Please bring us Flash Gordon action figures in our life time and if you've got some cosmic power left over after that, I'd just about kill in your name for a line of Big Lebowski toys." And lo, the Bif Bang happened and a booming voice came from a gargantuan bobble head bellowing WISH GRANTED. ...and it was good.

NOW Bif Bang Pow take San Diego Comic Con by storm with a host of pop culture properties in formats you'll die for. Here's the run down...

VENTURE BROTHERS were a risky proposition. Big Bang said..if you buy them...we'll make more! Well apparently, you bought em! Get ready for more Venture Adventure on the way with new additions to the MEGO-esque line including Dr. Orpheus and The Phantom Limb!!! I also wanted to make a quick note that you can still get Henchmen 21 and 24 from Entertainment Earth so HURRY and snap em up before they are gone.

TWILIGHT ZONE lines continue with innovative bobble heads, full size props to creep you out and those lovable MEGO-rific dolls commemorating your favorite Black and White moments with the characters who made them special.

LOST may have said their final goodbyes but BBP are only getting started on their toy domination of the ominous island. PLASTIC SHALL RULE YOU SMOKE MONSTER!! Which of course begs the question..How DOES one make a smoke monster action figure? SCIENCE!!

DEXTER may not have a lot on tap figure wise at the moment, but that doesn't mean he gets no plastic love. Check out the newest figure to wield the tools of the code and gasp as you realize a Dexter action figure (namely the Dark Avenger) will soon be a Toys R Us exclusive??!!

MOVIES have always been a staple of the BBP product and this year, there is still plenty to come. Flash Gordon, The Big Lebowski and Beastly step up to the plate while Kenny Powers of Eastbound and Down takes a swing at bobble head victory. And then there's Scott Ian...cuz who doesn't want Anthrax action figures?

And just because they were also in the Entertainment Earth booth as well, we shot up Spectre Toys' brilliant Dark Shadows line in all its MEGO-tastic glory. Enjoy!!

A Little LOST in New York

The Vilcek Foundation Showcases the International Artists and Filmmakers of ABC’s Hit Show : Exhibit Opens May 20, 2010, at the Vilcek Foundation Gallery

Just three days before the world-‐wide television phenomenon LOST wraps up its final season, the Vilcek Foundation will open for public view a premiere exhibition celebrating the international creative talent, both in front of and behind the camera, that have contributed to the unbridled success of this show during its six-‐year run.

The exhibit, presented in collaboration with the ABC Television Network and open for two weeks only at the Vilcek Foundation Gallery in New York City, will feature images and biographical profiles of immigrant and first-‐generation American members of the LOST cast and crew, working across all departments of the production team, from acting
and costume design, to editing and lighting.

“It is thrilling to highlight an aspect of this popular show that is so often overlooked by the public eye,” said Executive Director Rick Kinsel, speaking of the pivotal role played by the diverse members of LOST’s creative team.

“LOST provides an ideal forum for reminding us all that the work of immigrants touches our lives in myriad positive ways, every day, often without our knowing or realizing.”

LOST premiered in 2004 and quickly became a global phenomenon, airing in more than 228 territories across the globe. The show’s premise, about a flight from Sydney to Los Angeles that crash lands on a mysterious island in the Pacific, lent itself to boasting one of the most multicultural casts on television.

Among the stars participating in the exhibit are Jorge Garcia (“Hurley”), Yunjin Kim (“Sun”), Nestor Carbonell (“Richard”), Dominic Monaghan (“Charlie”), and Daniel Dae Kim (“Jin”).

The exhibit also includes crewmembers whose families hail from all parts of the globe – including the Philippines, Ireland, Tonga, South Africa, New Zealand, the U.K. and China.

The profiled individuals will also be set against a collection of popular props and figures from the set of the award-‐winning show. For the first time ever, fans in NYC will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of their favorite imagery from LOST’s mystical, mysterious time-‐travelling island.

New York Paley Center Hosts The Last Lost Weekend

As the show that makes everyone mental draws to, what is sure to be, a truly psychotic mind-fuck of an ending, the Paley Center gives a heads up on a little shindig they are throwing as a sort of support group for all you crazies.

SATURDAY MAY 22 2-5pm

One of the great “mythology” shows of all time—and by that we mean right up there with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The X-Files—ABC’s Lost is coming to an end after six glorious seasons (OK, five, but we forgive them for those cages!), and we don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Laugh, because we are giddy with anticipation for the two-and-a-half-hour swan song on Sunday, May 23; cry, because how can life possibly go on without Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Locke, Hurley, Miles, Desmond, and—yes—even Ben?

Here’s the good news: The Paley Center for Media and New York Comic Con are going to help EASE YOUR PAIN with a fun-filled celebration featuring a slew of events—a DHARMA aptitude test (aka trivia contest), a custom-made Lost game, prizes, giveaways, a panel discussion, and a special screening of a pop-up version of the program that got it all started: the pilot episode.

So, if you love Lost like we do and want to celebrate (or mourn) with your fellow Losties, come to the Paley Center and share in the fun and games. After all, you’ll never have this chance again.

Panel and guests to be announced.

Of course, there will also be a LOST weekend in LA, so never fear west coasters. CLICK HERE for those details.

MORE MEGO for 2010! Dexter, Venture brothers, Lost & More!

Announcing one of the widest ranges of highly articulated 8-inch retro-style action figures in years. In cooperation with EMCE Toys, Bif Bang Pow!™ is proud to bring the original "’70s style" of play to a brand-new line of articulated action figures based on some of the world's most popular properties.

Reproductions reminiscent of the best-selling action figures of the 1970s and early 1980s, these highly articulated figures will feature body designs by EMCE Toys. Each 8-inch scale figure will include real cloth clothing and plastic accessories where appropriate.

Over 40 licensed action figures are planned for 2010. The first are targeted for an early summer arrival and Comic-Con International: San Diego 2010, with others to follow later in the year. Included are much-demanded characters from:
The Venture Bros.™ (Cartoon Network)
Dexter™ (Showtime Networks)
Lost™ (ABC Disney)
The Big Lebowski™ (NBC Universal)
The Twilight Zone™ (CBS)
Flash Gordon™ (King Features)
Scott Ian (Anthrax)

The Venture Bros.™ creator Jackson Publick, who has been working closely with Bif Bang Pow! to bring these to market, noted that the upcoming figures are “very impressive and extremely faithful to the characters, while also finding a very comfortable middle ground between 2-D and 3-D design. Bif Bang Pow! has deftly solved a number of design problems I thought anyone attempting a 3-D interpretation would get thrown off by. Brock, especially, is going to make the fanboys crap themselves. Let's show these to the world already!”

"We're very excited about launching this new range of action figures. For the first time in Bif Bang Pow! history, all of our licenses will be living in the same universe. So if you've always wanted Dr. Girlfriend to seduce Dexter Morgan, or for Ming™ the Merciless to fight The Dude, now's your chance!", said Jason Lenzi, CEO of Bif Bang Pow! "And the exceptional articulation makes the posing possibilities virtually limitless, which comes in handy for animated characters!"

"The 8-inch format hasn't seen this breadth of licenses since its peak during the Mego days," said Joe Sena, President of SphereWerx, corporate parent of the EMCE Toys brand. EMCE partner Paul "Dr. Mego" Clarke added, "It is exactly this intention to mix a variety of characters into imaginative play that started my journey to bring this format back ten years ago. We're honored that Jason and his team sought us out to 'Mego-ize' the licenses he holds."

5 Seasons of LOST...In 10 Minutes

For all my UK Chavs:

With the hotly anticipated sixth and final season of LOST launching on February 5th, Sky1 HD is proud to announce LOST REDUCED – a specially created ten minute play from the widely acclaimed Reduced Shakespeare Company.

The celebrated comedy theatre troupe have condensed all five seasons into a fast paced flight through the story of the Oceanic plane crash survivors. The world premiere is to be held in London on Thursday 28th January, performed for an intimate audience of competition winners. The production will also be filmed for internet broadcast as well as on the Sky Platform’s Anytime service.

Conceived by Brothers and Sisters Creative for Sky1 HD the proposal was warmly received by the Reduced Shakespeare Company who quickly agreed to write and perform LOST REDUCED. Austin Tichenor, co-author of Lost Reduced with Reed Martin enthused “We are all ginormous fans of Lost. We’ve followed every twist and turn in the labyrinthine plot since the very beginning. Being trusted to reduce the first five seasons to just ten minutes is a humongous responsibility. All the years we spent poring over Oceanic Airline flight manifests and arcane theories of time-travel will not have been in vain. We can’t wait to see the final season! Damon and Carlton will explain everything!

“Yeah, sure they will,” grumbled Martin.

Martin and Tichenor are managing partners of the Reduced Shakespeare Company and will perform Lost Reduced with long-time company member Matt Rippy.

Co-creator and executive producer Damon Lindelof and executive producer Carlton Cuse have praised the idea and granted permission for the production to go ahead.

Sophie Jones, Controller of Marketing, Sky1 HD, Sky1, 2 & 3 says: “When Brothers and Sisters brought this idea to us it immediately leapt out as far too good to pass up and we swiftly commissioned the script. We feel this offers a really unique interpretation of LOST that will delight both the dedicated fans and bring everyone right up to date in advance of the season 6 launch. We’re enormously grateful that executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse along with ABC Studios have given the project their blessing.

Tickets will be given away to fans through a series of online competitions and radio promotions. If you didn’t win tickets through the RSC’s guessing game on Twitter, there’s still a chance. Email your name, contact number and the email address of your plus one to lostonsky1@sky.com.

The winners will then be selected and notified if they have received tickets on Tuesday 26th January.

LOST REDUCED is written and performed by the Reduced Shakespeare Company with the project overseen by Sophie Jones and Brothers and Sisters Creative for Sky1.

The final season of LOST launches on Sky1 HD and Sky1 on Friday 5th February at 9pm.
