Alamo Drafthouse Announces Immersive Pop-Up For Wes Anderson's "Asteroid City"
At a gala sneak preview event last night in lower Manhattan, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and visionary director Wes Anderson lifted the curtain on a faithful recreation of ASTEROID CITY. The cinema-eatery’s lobby and bar were unrecognizable after being transformed into the titular town for a unique, immersive experience. Guests arrived at an entryway fully wrapped in art from the film before exploring the sights of ASTEROID CITY, including a replica of the Arid Plains Meteorite, an alien-themed gift shop, an Asteroid Day-themed bar, a costume display, and multiple photo opportunities that pulled them into Wes Anderson’s vision of the fantastical desert town. This one-of-a-kind experience is free and open to the public from June 13th to June 26th. ASTEROID CITY opens at Alamo Drafthouse Brooklyn on June 16th before expanding to locations across the country on June 23rd. Tickets are available now at drafthouse.com.

The Isle of Dogs Movie Poster is a Work of Art
In a world of massive Hollywood movies, it's surprising how many marketing departments leave their key poster art in the hands of crazed, would-be photoshop artists who think cutting and pasting a series of images with ridiculous proportion disparity = MEGA EXCITEMENT for prospective movie goers. For all of us raised with beautiful, hand painted posters, there have been many tears. Leave it to Wes Anderson to demand something more.

The Moonrise Kingdom Fan Art Contest
On behalf of its acclaimed summertime hit, Focus Features has announced a NEW design contest timed to its award campaign in support of Wes Anderson's MOONRISE KINGDOM!
Building off of the spontaneous outpouring of fan art arriving throughout the theatrical campaign, Focus has encouraged fans to share their artistic talents once again by designing an awards-season advertisement ("For Your Consideration") for a chance to win a $500 prize and placement in Focus' ongoing awards campaign. Submissions are due by Monday, November 26th and winners will be announced on Friday, November 30th.

Wes Anderson is Right Behind You

Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, MOONRISE KINGDOM tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore -- and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in more ways than anyone can handle. Bruce Willis plays the local sheriff. Edward Norton is a Khaki Scout troop leader. Bill Murray and Frances McDormand portray the young girl's parents. The cast also includes Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, and Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward as the boy and girl AKA best cast ever & thank you.

In love, yes? In "select" theaters now means we have to seek out this movie with great vigor...so good luck with that...but now you've seen enough of the movie that you can make up the rest in your mind if you live too far. I expect to see crayon depictions of your favorite scenes on your facebooks. Either way, happy hunting.

Wes Anderson's God of War
With all the insanity surrounding San Diego Comic Con, its nice to be able to write about plain ole' geeky stuff outside of that show's reach. Case in point...Gamervision...my current saviors..have just released a fake movie trailer bringing the hit video game God of War to the big screen....as envisioned by Wes Anderson. My God..there's brilliance here. I know they didn't make it just for me, but amid the stress of putting together press ops for 2 websites at the biggest show in the world, I can't thank them enough for a great laugh.
And just for kicks..and because you may not have seen it...here's Wes Anderson's Spider-Man

Wes Anderson's Spider-Man
This is the moment where I yell DAMNIT for being so lazy. The second we read that Wes was on the list of directors they really wanted to take over, I was laughing myself stupid-er over the thought of what they would look like. I'd concieved a short film version done in one continuous shot with the camera constantly moving. YouTube movifier PrussianSunsets had another idea...
