World War Z Video Game Looking to Take a Bite Out of the Competition
In a world where our geekiest desires are translated into plastics, fashion and digital alternate realities, it's easy to miss a thing or two. Such is the case with the WORLD WAR Z video game!! I blame society. World War Z has been one of my go-to zombie movies for more than a minute, with plenty of tension, a fast moving story and the dynamics of those zombie hordes to keep me locked in every time. Translate that into a video game and I'm ALL IN!! Let's take a look at what we know so far about the game and how, exactly, they expect us to kill 300 approaching zombies armed only with a semi-automatic and dreams of movie sequels...

A Closer Look at Jazwares World War Z Zombie Figures
Zombies and geeks tend to go together like fat kids and fudge brownies, so it comes as no surprise that Jazwares World War Z line has been one folks have been anticipating since the announcement of their slow, lumbering approach at Toy Fair 2013. With the release of the pre-order images on Entertainment Earth, that anticipation....well...suffice to say it has subsided a bit. Do the actual figures in person redeem the line? Let's find out with a closer look at the Civilian Zombie and the Special Forces Zombie...

Jazwares World War Z Action Figures
When we last talked about World War Z action figures, it was just a list of possible characters sent to retailers for pre-orders...or to gauge interest at Toy Fair time...or for whatever reason companies send out massive lists of product no one is supposed to know about. While at Toy Fair, there was, indeed, a line of WWZ action figures at the Jazwares booth, but it was under wraps and all we could do was pet the curtain. Today, Entertainment Earth launched pre-orders on the eve of the film's release, and after some begging and pleading, we've got some excellent pictures of the initial release.

A New World War Z Trailer and Poster
The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. Enos plays Gerry’s wife Karen Lane; Kertesz is his comrade in arms, Segen.
Thanks to Wilson from Blackfilm for the heads up on the trailer and Collider for the poster!

The World War Z Super Bowl Spot
Mere days ago we announced Jazwares would be bringing a horde of 6 inch World War Z zombies to pegs at your local plastic pusher and now, we get another taste of what this insane movie will be like. I, personally, am psyched...tower of ant-like undead be damned...I'm digging the intensity of this movie. Paramount wants us to get in on the fun without the hardship of sitting through all that foosball nonsense, so we get to watch the World War Z Super Bowl Spot early!! Let's GO...
The world is never prepared for fast zombies. June 21st, watch the whole system come crashing down as the ravenous infected attack in nearly unstoppable numbers. Gerald Lane (Brad Pitt) stands on the front lines recording the unfolding horrors and fighting to survive the experience.

Toy Fair 2013 : Jazwares on World War Z
Remember that article where we thought NECA might be the perfect company for a World War Z action figure line? Well it seems someone else had their eyes set on the undead prize. Jazwares made a big noise this year with releases of Nicktoons, Hanna Barbera, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter AND Scribblenauts toy lines...all at once. Though their Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat lines turned up in the Boy's Action Figure isles of Toys R Us, Jazwares must have felt an urge to take a slice of the horror action as well.
This is a 6 inch action figure line...providing yet another scale to your mismatched zombie horde. ~sigh~ You'll note all of NECA and Mezco's zombie action figures are in a 7 inch scale while McFarlane's The Walking Dead line is at 5 inches. Good news for the Marvel Legends and DC Universe Classics collectors though, I suppose.

Toy Fair 2013 : New Licenses for New Toys
Once a year I used to have the pleasure of dropping in on the New York Licensing Show to get a look at art for new projects, see what older movies the companies were pushing for new product and sometimes, if we were lucky, see actual toys set to hit shelves in the future. That show moved to a shmoozier location in Las Vegas, so now I am left to beg for images from people who get to attend. At UK Toy Fair, the show is primarily like a smaller version of the US counterpart with rows of new product available for order to shops large and small, but that doesn't mean companies can't tempt those manufacturers showing off their wares with the possibilities of licenses for films they love.
...And with that opening teaser, we present two advertisements that reveal..well..not much...but spark a fire collectors love to poke at and watch grow into reality. It's Possibility. Today's licensing offerings are tomorrows new action figures on the pegs!

The World War Z Trailer Drops
The zombie apocalypse continues across all media!! Max Brooks' tale of the zombie vs human war made for a pitched battle on the Hollywood playing field over who might get to bring the book to the big screen. That battle is now legendary. Since then, we've heard of several pitfalls that had befallen production and wondered if this project would ever show it's decaying green skin in the light of day. Today...we got an answer...
BEWARE....the return of FAST ZOMBIES!!! Thanks to Dread Central for the vid! June 2013 can't get here quick enough. Now we just have to survive the real fucking apocalypse...
