Saliva + Peyton Parish = TIME BOMB

With an expansive touring & streaming history, hard rock icons Saliva are embarking on a new chapter with the release of “Time Bomb”, a confrontational track rooted in the hardships of the world featuring post-grunge vocalist Peyton Parrish.

On the new single, Saliva vocalist Bobby Amaru elaborates on that feeling. "Time Bomb is about those experiences we all have in life where it feels like it's you against the world. On October 10th only, the band’s highly anticipated new short film / music video will debut nationwide in over 300 AMC and Marcus theaters. “A Work of Art,” featuring franchise star David Howard Thornton as Art the Clown, will follow the credits exclusively at select Thursday night double feature showings of Terrifier 3 + Terrifier 2. 

Babyfangs Communes with Human Nature in "Feelings Bleed"

Memphis born LA musician Babyfangs has released her debut single “Feelings Bleed”, a song born out of her year-long stay at a Utah treatment center for “troubled teens,” The facility is part of an industry rocked by waves of recently uncovered controversy surrounding the abusive practices and conditions employed to subjugate its young residents. “‘Feelings Bleed’ delves into the idea of escaping or running away from not only the treatment center, but also the feelings it left me with,” shares Babyfangs (Ava Wilson). “I think writing this song was the closure I needed, I never felt like the program cared about me therefore I shouldn’t care about it anymore.” Babyfang’s syrupy vocals saturate the air like the heavy humidity of a late August Tennessee afternoon. In the single’s accompanying music video, we’re further introduced to Babyfangs southern gothic aesthetic, and her deep rooted affinity and connection to the natural world.

Aussie Indie Rockers Surf Trash Release New Single “Tappin Into Magic"

Ok Cowgirl and "Larry David" are Furious and Exhausted

Brooklyn's Ok Cowgirl will release their debut LP Couldn't Save Us From My Gut on August 16 and today shares "Larry David", a furious exhaust vent on a record filled with pent-up ambivalence. The track's "everything is fucked" gang vocal and perfect stomping tempo provide an easy alignment with the listener's sense of tension and release.

"We often begin rehearsal by sitting around and catching up as friends," says lead singer and songwriter Leah Lavigne of the track. "One evening when everyone had a particularly hard day our conversation ended with someone declaring 'everything is fucked'. I suggested that instead of jumping into running our set we blow off some steam by jamming. Jake started playing some chords, Matt locked in with a beat, and I jokingly screamed 'everything is fucked', improvising the first verse until we broke down in laughter. We all agreed we had to write this song then and there."

MisterWives Revel In "Organized Chaos"

Psych-pop Trio PSYCHIC LINES Announce 5th Studio Album 'SUNSET ON SUNSET'

Today, Brooklyn-based psych-pop trio Psychic Lines announces their fifth studio album SUNSET ON SUNSET due out August 23 and available for pre-order now. Alongside the announcement, the band shares bright, bouncy track and colorful, hand-drawn video "Mind Control" out now. SUNSET ON SUNSET sounds unlike any previous Psychic Lines release. Lead singer-songwriter Phil Jacob shares, "Lyrically, the album touches on all the delusions we cling to. They may give us hope and spur us on but set us up for disappointment when we inevitably discover that the real world doesn't quite measure up. Many of these delusions are shaped by our lifelong immersion in social media, film and television." The LP delves into escapism and the stories we tell ourselves to make sense of the surrounding fast-paced world. Jacob continues, "In order to bridge this reality gap, we further deceive ourselves and others, seeking escape in the same stories and mythologies that caused our faulty expectations in the first place." These deceptions and coping mechanisms form a backdrop for the darkly surrealistic, yet wryly humorous collection of tunes on this album.

Horror Inspired, MAMA DOOM proudly premieres their latest "Bleeding Garden" video with  OUTBURN.COM.  Drummer Anne Terror says "We had such a blast making this video. Another DIY collaboration with (my very own) Gratuitous Productions. We dug a little deeper into using more post production tools with editing stop motion and we were then able to achieve some of the twitchier skeletal sequences throughout. Also, by using overlays and multiple video images concurrently allowed us to add a little more texture and depth too. Paying homage to the A Giallo/Argento approach our use of alternative lighting let the intensity build along with the track which had a crescendo effect. All in all, we were pretty stoked with how the whole thing came together."

With any number of social media readily available for sharing art via video, be it in 5 second bursts or an hour of deep drama, comes a daily deluge of content for the bored masses. Some of it attempts to make you laugh with a side order of crossed fingers that viral fame awaits. Some promotes worthwhile events, like the awesomely memorable and hysterical cat adoption video that made the rounds mere days ago. While these promo spots often range from 2 dollar budget to ..well..usually they appear to spring for up to 20 bucks in quality, few come off as if they've gone as far as they can with a concept. Sure, they get the job done, but are they fully immersive? Did they "pull the trigger"?? Where's the showmanship? Costumes..lights..art direction..costumes....oh wait we found it all. IT IS HERE!!

With a Tweet from Nick Roche, the amazing artist behind this work, I dove in without hesitation, knowing I'd be reliving my torn jeans wearing youth, blasting Manowar songs outside my high school. Manowar understood the power of a great metal song where vikings bathed the lands in red and left only fires raging in their wake...you know..the foundations of music!
