Independent toy creators George and Ayleen Gaspar have launched a crowdfunding campaign to resurrect one of the most popular Skeleton Warriors characters, Grimskull, in action figure form. They have set out to raise $50,000 on Kickstarter to produce a fully articulated, highly detailed 1/18th scale action figure.
George and Ayleen, owners of October Toys, have been working with the creators of Skeleton Warriors, Goddard Film Group, LLC, to design updated toys for collectors and fans of the property. Drawing inspiration from a variety of source material and concept artwork, these new figures are made for modern action figure fans with both aesthetics and playability in mind.

SDCC 2015: October Toys Attack Comic-Con with Skeleton Warriors & More
Some companies bring hordes of new, exclusive toys to sell at San Diego Comic-Con...and that's awesome. Some bring a straight up artistic approach to the show and create hand painted plastics you can't find anywhere else and will never see again...and that's cool too. October Toys always makes sure their booth space reflects their kick ass attitude and presents a sampling of everything they've been working on all year, with plenty of those projects available to take home, even if you missed out on a killer Kickstarter like SKELETON WARRIORS!!! Now's your chance to snap up one of the best new toys of the year and shake hands with the fine folks who make dreams come true. Bony, awesome, retro cartoon dreams. My dreams.

October Toys Skeleton Warriors Baron Dark Action Figure
He LIVES!! Well...sort of. From dream to Kickstarter to insanely awesome physical toy in my fanboy hands, the Skeleton Warriors are back, starting with their fearsome leader, Baron Dark! You may (or may not..which is probably more the case) remember the Skeleton Warriors cartoon or the action figure line that turns up at flea markets across the planet ..seemingly every damn day. These fantastically sculpted toys from Playmates were waaaay ahead of their time...and maybe a little too far ahead as parents deemed them too terrifying for their precious children ...and they disappeared into the pile of oddball properties churned out by the 80's and 90's. Now October Toys has teamed up with the original creators of the series with hopes of recreating the freaky fiends with every awesome detail in tact, utilizing a Glyos body system, allowing for superior articulation and easy to pop off parts that you can mix with any other Glyos compatible figure.

Skeleton Warriors Fight For Resurrection on Kickstarter
In a world where a pony evolved into the daughter of Cthulhu can be granted life via Kickstarter, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! That said, surely Skeleton Warriors can make a HUGE return, right? Waaaay ahead of its time, this 90's cartoon we like to call "Harryhausen's Wet Dream" was short lived, but the toy line it spawned was far more magnificent than most around it. Now, the fine folks at October Toys think it's time the creatures of bone and awesome get a second chance to haunt your toy shelves. PREPARE FOR THE RETURN OF SKELETON WARRIORS!!!

In the realm of art toys, the term DIY is nothing new, and saying the artists are fueled by the punk rock is an understatement....but this movement has a crew I applaud at every turn and epitomize the spirit of creating awesome collectibles (with love) while supporting the rest of their brothers and sisters. That crew is October Toys (booth 4838). Zombie obsessed, crowd sourced and snappy dressing mofos all describe these champions of DIY plastics.
