Mattel Named Global Toy Partner for TOP GUN Franchise

Mattel, Inc. today announced it has been named global toy partner for Paramount Pictures’ TOP GUN franchise, ahead of the highly-anticipated sequel, TOP GUN: MAVERICK, scheduled to debut in theaters in June 2020.

Mattel has the rights to toys across multiple categories, including die-cast vehicles and aircrafts, playsets, games and other toys. The new line will bring moments from both the classic film and the sequel to life, appealing to fans of all ages.

Bandai Releases 13 New Tamagotchi for the Spring Season

InXile Entertainment is proud to bring back the classic cRPG Wasteland. This critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic role-playing game, was first published in 1988. The game broke new ground as one of the first cRPGs that gave the player an open, reactive world with persistent consequences.

Welcome to The Wasteland. The year is 2087, eighty-nine years after an all-out nuclear war transformed the Earth into a hellish landscape where survival is a daily struggle against thirst, hunger, radiation, raiders and mutants. The player takes control of a band of Rangers, sent out to investigate a series of disturbances in The Wasteland, only to soon uncover a vast threat to all that remains of mankind.

This old school cRPG offers turn-based combat and top-down exploration, as well as mood-setting texts and a colorful variety of enemy portraits. Furthermore, inXile has enhanced the rerelease. First and foremost, the updated game will run on modern machines and at higher resolutions. Additionally, the game has expanded save game functionality over the original. Furthermore, the game has been expanded with a music track from Wasteland 2 composer Mark Morgan and now integrates texts from the original paragraph book and manual into the game., Finally, the game offers many optional overhauls such as uprezzed portraits, paragraph voice-over and a choice of playing the game upscaled and smoothed or in the original resolution.

Steampunk World's Fair This Weekend!!

As the largest, ticketed Steampunk event in the world, Steampunk World’s Fair is bringing to life festivities and unforgettable adventures for all ages! This year's entertainment includes headlining musicians of no small reputation including Voltaire, Steam Powered Giraffe, Walter Sickert & The Army of Broken Toys, and Emperor Norton’s Stationary Marching Band! Dozens of other performers and entertainers pack our weekend long schedule spanning both the Radisson of Piscataway and the Embassy Suites Hotel in Piscataway, NJ. You'll see artists, acrobats, belly dancers, fire breathers, burlesque, ballroom dancing, (mostly) imaginary duels to the death, costume contests (actually there will probably be costumes everywhere you look), games, programming just for kids, comedy, karaoke and more.  In between both hotel venues we host a massive carnival tent providing outdoor attractions, activities, and extremely talented and innovative vendors distributing their Steampunk inspired jewelry, fashions, goods, and countless other curiosities!

No fun. The Hobbit crew know the value of a good time, and a ridiculous tie-in with an eatery known for providing breakfast foods to stoners at 3am is just what the doctor ordered. The OFFICIAL Star Wars Angry Birds Reveal!

I feel like it should have a tag line like "This Time...It's Personal", but the line "Defeat The Pork Side!" on some of this packaging more than makes up for the two hours of editing I just did. This past weekend, we blew young minds with the announcement of Star Wars Angry Birds and teased your wallets with merchandise to come. Today, Hasbro gets in on the action with official pics of their lineup that confirm two things...

1. There WILL BE a Star Wars Angry Birds App
2. They will be merchandising the hell out of it

and as an aside...

3. They sure do love Jabba and the Rancor Monster, as they have featured them in two of the game sets....but no Leia in any, unless you count Leia Bousch. Everybody knows girls don't play Angry Birds. Pish Posh. Sarcasm, ended.

Zach Vs Monsuno

When a company says they want to send me a toy line, I think long and hard if my audience wants to see it, how long it will take to do the shoot and what my absolute deadline for people caring looks like. When the line is super kid friendly...I call Zach. Zach is my 7 yr old nephew. He enjoys Family Guy, Adventure Time, Regular Show, smashing things together, conning folks into playing Mario Cart so he can beat them, the beach and fried Mozzarella Sticks. We are a lot alike.

When I dumped the Monsuno box in Zach's lap..well..let's just say the face in the picture isn't far from the one he made. "CAN I KEEP IT?!" was the first question and it soon became clear he was interested in the total package and perhaps far more impressed with the box than the contents. He is a detail oriented man. I told him first we work...then it is all his. He is used to this as when Uncle Paulie comes around with new toys, there is always a stipulation before we split the booty. In this case, I wanted to see how quickly Zach would pick up the game play, operate the figures, etc. He recognized the cards from his experience with Pokemon and immediately identified the shiny ones as being more special. The cores were another thing all together.
