The OFFICIAL Star Wars Angry Birds Reveal!

I feel like it should have a tag line like "This Time...It's Personal", but the line "Defeat The Pork Side!" on some of this packaging more than makes up for the two hours of editing I just did. This past weekend, we blew young minds with the announcement of Star Wars Angry Birds and teased your wallets with merchandise to come. Today, Hasbro gets in on the action with official pics of their lineup that confirm two things...

1. There WILL BE a Star Wars Angry Birds App
2. They will be merchandising the hell out of it

and as an aside...

3. They sure do love Jabba and the Rancor Monster, as they have featured them in two of the game sets....but no Leia in any, unless you count Leia Bousch. Everybody knows girls don't play Angry Birds. Pish Posh. Sarcasm, ended.

FIRST UP!!  Let's meet the cast of characters revealed so far!

Angry Birds Assimilate Star Wars

It's the mash up....practically no one asked for...or dreamed about!!!

But there will be toys...and jenga...and most likely a Star Wars edition of the game amid all the plush and T Shirts. .....maybe a game...but after the T Shirts.

The Angry Birds Tumblr says to be at the Times Square Toys R Us at 8am...or 10am..they aren't really clear on the point. I'm betting we'll be seeing some merch when we do drinks with Hasbro right before New York Comic Con 2012 next week. STAY TUNED...if not for this earth shattering announcement...then for stuff you really care about.

New York's Village 2012 Halloween Parade Theme

This year, as 2012 ticks away the final year of the Mayan Calendar, and visions apocalyptic or Linkeuphoric fill our imaginations; we will explore the many embodiments of Time.

The sound of ticking seconds reassures us of the continuity of our universe, a mechanical heartbeat, definite yet infinite.

But how well do we know Time?

We think of time as immutable, yet we know it to be elastic. Some moments pass with glacial slowness, as others speed past us. It bends and stretches, like Dali's drooping watches and Einstein's speeding trains.

Book Expo 2012 at Breakneck Speed

Sooooo many events. The extreme bulk of news, dvds to watch and real, actual paying work I need to do makes it impossible to run supplemental event coverage in a timely manor....but i will keep trying!! Tonight, we'll take a look at the fun stuff I found while walking sideways through the extra thick crowd at the Book Expo in New York City some weeks back. Here's the best of the best...

Spider-Man Week in New York City June 25 – July 1

In celebration of the release of The Amazing Spider-Man™ on July 3, 2012, Columbia Pictures has partnered with some of NYC’s premier cultural institutions to create Spider-Man Week in NYC, a seven-day calendar of events in all five boroughs. The week includes a volunteer initiative as Spider-Man teams with his fellow New Yorkers to give back to their community by helping out people in need.
