8 Days Til Jessica Jones!!

The comic Alias both confused and floored readers. At the time, there had not been a lot of Marvel books that showed a more "real" side of being a hero in a world with villains that might do more than tie you to the train tracks, as it were. Also, there was a show called Alias on TV and that drove people away....maybe just a bit. Suffice to say, the book about a one time Avenger, ptsd coping rape survivor turned private detective struck a chord before the first #MeToo was uttered from anyone's lips. While the Netflix show bearing Jessica Jones' name may be light on the "super" heroics, it is deftly crafted and superbly acted...and I can't wait for another round.

Go behind the scenes of Marvel’s Jessica Jones with stars Krysten Ritter, Carrie-Anne Moss, Rachael Taylor, Eka Darville, and showrunner Melissa Rosenberg in this action-packed preview of the long-awaited second season. There’s more to Jessica’s story, and it takes a talented group of women on- and off-camera to do it justice.

A Newer, Creepier Trailer for Marvel's Jessica Jones

The comic was called Alias...at a time when there was a TV show called Alias...probably not the most inspired choice. This being the case, a lot of people passed over the book without even a backward glance...unless I yelled at them about how amazing it is until they were sick of hearing me gush. When Marvel Studios picked their grittiest band of heroes to bring to Netflix, it was clear, Jessica Jones' time had come. Now..the first trailer was pretty bad ass. It gave you all the beats to pick up the story, but didn't really convey the stakes...to a new audience or to fans of the comic. Would they make her one of the first Avengers wash outs to bring her closer to her comic book roots? Would they even touch on the horrific ways Jessica was violated, making her the broken woman she is when we meet her? Today, a new trailer has dropped fleshing out exactly why you should be afraid of a comic book character with a ridiculous name like "The Purple Man"!

Jessica Jones..YOU Are the Next NEW AVENGER!!

I say it with so much fanfare because its not much of a shocker, is it? Where ever Luke Cage goes, it stands to reason she'll go, and hopefully they'll give her a new outfit by then or continue to let her and Cage be the only two heroes who slug it out in street clothes! Jessica joins her former teamates Spider-Man and Wolverine in the NEW New Avengers in their relaunch from the superstar creative team of Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen, this June.
