SDCC 2024: Marvel Reveals The New Deadpool

Deadpool is dead—long live Deadpool! It was previously revealed that Wade Wilson will meet his end at the hands of new supervillain Death Grip this October in DEADPOOL #6. Following this shocking turn of events, his daughter, Ellie Camacho, will step up as the all-new Deadpool starting in November’s DEADPOOL #7! Just revealed at the Diamond Retailer Lunch at San Diego Comic-Con, Ellie’s new role is the latest twist in writer Cody Ziglar’s roller coaster of a run. To welcome the new Merc with a Mouth, Ziglar will be joined by guest artist Andrea Di Vito and co-writer Alexis Quasarano in her Marvel Comics debut.

Wade has fallen, and his daughter Ellie has taken up the mantle! Taskmaster continues her mercenary training, but what she really wants is vengeance. And to get that, she’ll need Princess’ help.

Hot Toys Finally Digs Up Marvel Zombies

Do you know how hard it was to get Marvel Zombies action figures BEFORE Marvel was owned by Disney?  ...Pretty damn hard! Marvel Zombies was a hit with comic fans and Marvel left it to Diamond Select to release three figures to celebrate the title. Zombie Hulk, Zombie Colonel America and Zombie Spider-Man are still favorites of action figures fans and fetch a hefty price today. Despite the popularity of the title, Marvel shut down further merchandising after a string of sculptural pieces, stating they were concerned fans would get confused by the horrific look of their iconic heroes and the license would be tarnished in the long run. Years later, we'd get a Zombie Sabretooth and Zombie Magneto to add to our collection, but again, despite the excitement behind these releases, it seems the breaks were put on further undead Marvels. 

Now, with Disney firmly holding the reigns of power, I was shocked to see Marvel Zombies returning to the comic racks and with it, renewed interest in Marvel Zombie TOYS!! 12 inch action figure masters Hot Toys take first swing at this license with Zombie Deadpool...because of course they are.

As we in the states approach the 1 day mark until the premiere of Deadpool 2, the insane marketing monkeys that have been whipping us into a frenzy have left a trail of merchandise for us to scoop up! Deadpool Vows to FCancer

20th Century Fox and DEADPOOL have announced a new epic partnership with the fundraising platform Omaze in support of Fuck Cancer!

Announced during the FX premiere of the original DEADPOOL, the partnership provides fans the chance to receive an exclusive, custom-made pink Deadpool suit. A cause close to the Merc's heart, proceeds will benefit the work of Fuck Cancer, the nonprofit dedicated to cancer prevention, early detection and providing support to those affected.

Toy Fair 2018: Hasbro's Marvel Toy Lineup

Ready your bank account and hide your wallet...it's time to tabulate how broke you are going to be for the rest of the year!! Marvel Legends have been a blessing and a curse to Marvel Comics and Marvel Cinematic Universe fans alike. With an average 23 dollar price point for each figure and a Build-A-Figure in each wave, taunting you to buy the lot in one go, we may as well be signing our bank accounts over to Hasbro! Well friends, we have news for you. IT'S GOING TO GET WORSE!! With the Black Panther wave having just settled into retail stores across the globe, we've gotten word that the Spider-Man Lizard BAF wave is also hitting hard, with the Deadpool Sasquatch BAF wave close behind...and bringing up the rear across the waters in international territories, the Avengers Infinity Wars wave!!! Do the math on that. It means we are all eating ramen for a couple of months. Let's take a look at the run down for 2018, exploring the much sought after Legends and the "kid targeted" lines alike to get a clear view of the insanity coming up fast.

Toy Fair 2018: JADA Metals Deadpool Taco Truck *UPDATED 1/26

UK Toy Fair has come to a close but we will be roaring along for some time, fueled by the power of  2 adventurous, eagle eyed reporters, their cameras and the hundreds of pictures they produced! We had no idea Think Geek would be set up at UK Toy Fair, but we found them hunkered down on the second level...and inside...magic. This may have been the only new Jada Toys item in the entire building..and if there was more, it was hiding like a Storm Shadow in a snowstorm.

Presenting the Deadpool Taco Truck!! I NEED DIS!!! Though Jada have been pumping out metal figures for a little while now, they are fairly new to vehicles, and to my knowledge, have not dipped into the expansive waters of the Marvel Universe...yet. This looks like the first! Let me be "that guy" and ask for Thanos in his Thanos copter. I would love you guys ...ya know...like...forever.

FXX Orders Adult Animated Deadpool Comedy

FXX has placed a series order with Marvel Television and FX Productions for the untitled Marvel’s Deadpool series, an animated adult action-comedy TV series adaptation of the hit Marvel character Deadpool, it was announced jointly today by Eric Schrier and Nick Grad, Presidents of Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions, and Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television.

Deadpool Aims For Greatness But Misses The Mark

As recently as five years ago, the idea of a movie with a character like Deadpool at the center would have been seen as impossible. It's not the bad language, as God gave us Quentin Tarantino. The gratuitous violence is not a problem either, as movies like Kick Ass, Wanted and Dredd paved the way, creating a contest of sorts. It's not enough to just be shockingly violent anymore! Now we expect a certain level of inventiveness along with that blood splatter. Just watch Kingsman and you'll see where that contest is taking Hollywood. Shockingly, inventively violent happens to be Deadpool's specific cup of tea, and if those previously mentioned films with comic book themes could exist, it's sort of laughable Deadpool wasn't born right alongside them! So, was the fact that Deadpool is a Marvel Comics character and the suggestion that he exists alongside (at the very least, the FOX stable) the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe enough to keep him off the big screens for so long? Who knows. What ever the reason studio executives would give for shelving a character that makes major bank in merchandising and comic books every year, I think they all agreed the time for a Rated R super hero is NOW...but could they make it work?

Toy Fair 2016: Deadpool’s Big Red Rocket Is Coming!

Huhuhuhu. So pervy. With the Deadpool movie opening in theaters across the states this weekend, Factory Entertainment drops another bit of news on us! You'll note the extreme lack of actual Deadpool movie merchandise at toy retailers this week (i'm giving you the stink eye, Disney), but our toy making friends are doing their best to crank out and get a timely release for anything comic related they can produce. Funko has Pops and plush, there's a plethora of mugs, T shirts, and various nicknacks...and now Factory Entertainment shows off what we are sure will be a highly sought after item in the coming months...

Ryan Reynolds Lounges In The Deadpool Movie Costume

REVEALS! These days, a studio is lucky enough to drop a reveal with some sort of fanfare before a crazed fan or newshound spoils it with onset pics or leaked imagery. The Thing from the new Fantastic Four movie was just shown, for the first time, in a grainy pic from some dude standing in front of a giant poster. NOT the way you want that to get out there, and the overwhelming negative reaction is proof. Then there's Ryan Reynolds who just Tweeted this image of, presumably, himself, in full Deadpool gear, lounging on a bear skin rug in front of a fireplace. THIS IS HOW IT IS DONE. ...And could it be any more perfect? No..the answer is no it could not. This was a rhetorical question.

Marvel Celebrates Deadpool 250...by Killing Him

That’s right – if you add together all the Deadpool series (creatively), April’s DEADPOOL #45 marks Wade Wilson’s landmark 250th issue! How will he be celebrating? DEATH! No, really. Wade's about to reach the end of the line, but he’s not gone yet. Prepare for a colossal-sized series finale the likes of which you’ve never seen before as Gerry Duggan, Brian Posehn and more bid the Merc With a Mouth adieu, and explore the legacy he leaves behind.

First, Gerry Duggan, Brian Posehn and Mike Hawthorne serve up a 30-page main story as, the villainous Ultimatum finally makes their move. They’re coming at Deadpool for revenge – all of them! And we mean ALL OF THEM. It’s going to be a bloodbath, but Wade’s not going down without a fight though.

“This is something we’ve been naturally building towards,” says writer Gerry Duggan speaking with Marvel.com. “This isn’t being done lightly. It always comes down to what we think is right and Marvel has been very king and gracious with us and let us get away with murder: in a literal sense.”

The Deadpool Movie Is A GO

And just like that, with an email dropped in my box gleefully, albeit cryptically stating "DEADPOOL. MOVIE. 2-12-16" from a very trusted source, it is GAME ON!! The dreams of hundreds of thousands of lunatic Poolifiles, including his creator, Robert Liefeld, and the man destined to play him on the big screen, Ryan Reynolds, are answered today as Fox gives the big thumbs up to a film we've been begging for...well..for some time now!

Deadpool Movie Test Footage?

Looks videogamey, but maybe it was a "proof of concept" sort of thing where they whipped this up to show how much fun the actual movie could be? Also, that sure does sound like Ryan Reynolds!  DISCUSS!

UPDATE: This is the real deal! ..well as real as a piece of test footage gets. Now in beautiful HD, we can catch all the little subtle nuances...like Deadpool drawing the picture with a crayon at the start on the bridge, which is what he shows to the motorcycle thug right before he takes his head. Extra awesome for an already amazing piece! We also didn't get that final line in the low res version...which brings it all home. Perfection. A whole movie of this would leave audiences in tears, begging for the pain in their splitting sides to go away. So what is FOX waiting for? Maybe the success of formerly perceived "longshot", ie; Guardians of the Galaxy, this weekend will seal the deal, though it's fairly obvious Deadpool is one of the most popular characters in the Marvel Universe. Shouldn't that spell no-brainer? Maybe they think the tone of the film, which would HAVE to be rated R, mixed with non-stop comedy is the risky proposition? Whatever the case may be, I think the release of this "leaked" footage, and then the mysterious second leak of better footage is their way of saying...we are listening. Word of mouth is strong. Deadpool movie...imminent...

Deadpool’s Getting Hitched! Your First Look at DEADPOOL #27

Save the date! The Merc With a Mouth is about to become the Merc in Matrimony this April in the pages of the super-sized DEADPOOL #27 – from current Deadpool writers Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn (WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME BRIAN WAS WRITING THIS??!! I blame society.) along with an epic assortment of past Deadpool writers!

A day you never dreamed would come has finally arrived – and it’s going to be anything but traditional. For starters, his bride Shiklah is an ancient and royal succubus (see Deadpool: The Gauntlet). Believe us, the ceremony is going to be one for the ages!

“We’re complicating his life and we’ll be pulling him in different directions,” said writer Gerry Duggan in an interview with Marvel.com. “I think that’s something everyone can relate to, and will lead to some more fun comic books.”
