The Daffy Duck x Pennywise Connection

Kidrobot Looney Tunes IT Phunny Daffy Duck as Pennywise 7.5-Inch Plush 1
Pennywise; the nearly immortal, shapeshifting, child-gobbling personification of all your nightmares, sparked from the mind of Stephen King, himself!

Daffy Duck; the king of despicable, icon of all misers and cheap shot masters, as well as a major player in the Looney Tunes...iverse? Tuniverse? Probably the latter. Got a better ring to it!

Seldom would these two characters ever cross paths, but in the ever-expanding pop culture collectibles universe of KidRobot, there has been an UNHOLY ALLIANCE!! Actually, it's more of a merger...on a molecular level...

Boomerang Presents Bunnicula, Be Cool Scooby Doo & Wabbit – A Looney Tunes Production

It's always jarring when companies take a beloved cartoon series in a totally new direction, art wise. While we don't expect these shows to look the same forever...DON'T THEY KNOW GEEKS FEAR CHANGE???!! No, fear is not the word. We loathe it. The last time Scooby Doo got a reboot, we approached with cautious optimism, quickly embracing artwork that really nodded to the original show while making things more contemporary. I think the new show's creators are going to have a harder go of it this time around, with art that makes the characters look like they are visiting the Phineas & Ferbiverse. I expect all my friends will freak over the coming of Bunnicula...and that Wabbit art teaser reeks of Ren and Stimpy...which could potentially be MIND BLOWING...so let's take a closer look...

Toy Fair 2013 : The WB Push Looney Tunes

Can you recall the last time you saw Looney Tunes merchandise on the shelves at your local toy stores? Man...was it DC Direct that had a line ages ago? If that's the case, those were only in comic shops and specialty retailers. Warner Brothers stores had some fantastic vinyl figures as well...but those days are long gone and the WB shops are closed, and with a new cartoon on the air that does NOT feature cracked out extreeeeme versions of their iconic characters, we need new toys!
