The biggest year in Energon Universe history is here, with four all-new stories from the worlds of TRANSFORMERS, G.I. JOE, Void Rivals, and more in this Free Comic Book Day issue from the biggest names in comics. Energon Universe talent Robert Kirkman (Invincible, The Walking Dead), Joshua Williamson (Duke, Superman), and more pen the stories, and Jason Howard (TRANSFORMERS, Super Dinosaur), Conor Hughes (Void Rivals, White Ash), and more will provide art.
Soundwave joins the ever-growing cast of TRANSFORMERS robots to be launched by the globally recognized team at Robosen. Merging cutting edge technology and nostalgic design, Robosen brings the cult classic Decepticon spy to life with incredible detail and precise execution. Hasbro’s brand marketing and design teams stormed into New York Comic Con with an action-packed showcase celebrating some of the most beloved toy lines in pop culture. The panel gave fans a first look at upcoming releases from Transformers, G.I. Joe Classified Series, and The Real Ghostbusters, highlighting Hasbro’s ongoing mission to blend nostalgia with next-generation design.
Transformers: Studio Series and Beyond
Transformers fans were treated to new details from the Studio Series line, including preorder timing for several recently revealed figures. The Hasbro team teased how upcoming releases will continue to expand the cinematic universe of Transformers toys — delivering screen-accurate sculpts and premium articulation that collectors crave.
Skybound’s blockbuster lineup of panels and off-site events includes plenty to look forward to for Invincible fans—both the star-studded Invincible panel that promises to grant Season 4 teases and the first-ever chance for the public to play the upcoming fighting game Invincible VS in a barcade takeover experience.
Fans of the smash-hit Energon Universe from Skybound, Image Comics and Hasbro will get a glimpse into a new era of the line that includes TRANSFORMERS, G.I. JOE, and Void Rivals, as well as the third annual Midtown Comics Times Square signing event with a jam-packed lineup of creative superstars.

When the cover to each comic is opened, fans will hear the iconic Transformers Signature Sound of the bots shifting from robot to alt mode – or vice versa, with a different sound in TRANSFORMERS #1 and in Void Rivals #1.

Middle grade readers will be introduced to the misadventures of the bot who is mightier than the sword with the arrival of TRANSFORMERS: Worst Bot Ever - Meet Ballpoint. The OGN will be available everywhere books are sold in July 2025 from Skybound Comet, the original graphic novel imprint aimed at Young Adult (Ages 12+) and Middle Grade (Ages 8-12) audiences, but sure to captivate readers of all ages.

Comic book fans who picked up their copies of Void Rivals #1 in comic shops today were the first to learn the news, as the blockbuster Oblivion Song team of writers Robert Kirkman (Invincible, The Walking Dead) and artist Lorenzo De Felici (Kroma), along with colorist Matheus Lopes (Step By Bloody Step) and letterer Rus Wooton, revealed that the highly anticipated series was actually a stealth launch of this new shared “Energon Universe” with the surprise first appearance of iconic Transformers character Jetfire.
