Predator: Hunting Ground Digital Game Launches 10/1 - Physical Edition 11/12

The hunt starts soon, new to PS5 and Xbox X|S beginning on October 1, 2024. Physical PS5 editions launch on 11/12, with preorders beginning on September 24, 2024, and digital available on 10/1. Collaborating with 20th Century Games, IllFonic, Inc. is thrilled to bring more content and platforms to the fan-favorite Predator: Hunting Grounds. Previously available only on PS4 and PC, this immersive asymmetrical shooter will now be available on PS5 and Xbox X|S platforms running on Unreal 4.27, Vivox, and Wwise.

PHG will offer fans three options from digital storefronts: MSRP $19.99 USD (Standard Edition), MSRP $34.99 (Jungle Edition), and MSRP $69.99 (Yautja Edition). 

Marvel to Publish New Alien and Predator Comics

Today, Marvel Entertainment announced three iconic franchises – ALIEN, PREDATOR, and ALIEN VS. PREDATOR – will be launching all-new stories with Marvel Comics starting in 2021! The new comic series will feature new and classic characters from Earth and beyond to explore never-before-seen corners of both the Alien and Predator universes.

Following the debut of Alien in 1979 and Predator in 1987, the films built a cult following and expanded rapidly to include toys, games, novels, and comic books, eventually leading to 2004’s landmark crossover Alien vs. Predator. Marvel’s new stories will draw from all of these properties, building on decades of multimedia storytelling. Get a first look at next year’s deadly new chapter with spine-chilling cover art by David Finch!

SDCC 2018: NECA's Full Exclusives Lineup

It's mental that we are already only one month out from San Diego Comic Con!! Even though the convention itself isn't showing us any love this year, we'll still be supporting our friends as they slide their shiny exclusive collectibles forward for all the world to see. Let's get this train roaring along with NECA, everyone's favorite 7 inch action figure masters, who filled this year's lineup with many an item super collectors are freaking out over as we speak. SDCC 2017: NECA's Full Exclusives Lineup

Let's get down to business with the miles long list of this year's SDCC exclusive collectibles, comics and other various awesome thingies! Technically NECA's lineup are "Convention Exclusives", making them available online to those not able to attend San Diego Comic-Con and are fast enough to grab their fill when the sales went live, and the actual attendees of the greatest, largest. most brain-melting comic con on the planet. SDCC 2017: A Closer Look at NECA's Convention Exclusives

NECA's Randy Falk and crew made the trip over to Parsippany, New Jersey this past weekend for ToyConNJ, despite being in the middle of San Diego Comic-Con crunch time..and for that, we thank them! Along with their smiling faces and trucks full of warehouse merchandise to unload on eager collectors, Randy dropped some soon-to-be-released items on a table with specific instructions that NO ONE MAY DROOL ON THEM!! It worked..mostly. I didn't drool a lot and no one saw me do it. Amid the Aliens and Heroes of the Storm were some 2017 Convention exclusives, including one we will call...the precious. A set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collectors will be doing battle over for the foreseeable future.

Kidrobot Adds Horror Icons To Madballs Lineup

Last we spoke to kidrobot, the powers that be mentioned that if all went well with the roll out of their first, insanely extensive line of Madballs, they would look into a second series and some original designs no one has ever created in ball form before. YAY CREATIVE BALLS!! Today, we are happy to report they are artists of their word and are pitching a whole new line of scream inducing balls bearing the likeness of our favorite horror movie creeps!

Gross for one, gross for all, we play with our Horrorballs?! Kidrobot, Madballs and some of the scariest names in the game bring you freaky, frightening fun in the all new Madballs Horrorball foam series! These monstrous mashups combine the Madballs platform you know and love with the terrifying villains from the Aliens, Predator, Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Nightmare on Elm street franchises. Toy Fair 2017: NECA's "Coming Soon" Products

No matter what part of the planet we are covering around Toy Fair time, we never pass up an excuse to shoot NECA's action figures. To be honest, this crew has so many products coming out these days, all we can do is shoot like mad and hope we hit something new! Such was the case at UK Spring Fair this year as we crept up on a wall of NECA product at a local distributor's booth and fired away. Some of the items are out now, but well worth a second look, and others are almost within your grabby collector grasp...

More Toys R Us NECA Action Figure Exclusives

Toys R Us must be very happy with how NECA's latest batch of exclusives are performing for them as we see more are on the way in larger packs! Often, store exclusives are the only way for die hard fans to get obscure characters or plastics capturing specific moments in a video game or movie, so we applaud whenever a retailer takes on such a burden. In this case, most exclusive packs comes with a buddy! Here's the lineup as it dropped in my lap this morning..sadly, with very few additional details...

Like Taco Bell in Demolition Man, Toys R Us are the last survivors of the brick and mortar toy store wars and while their prices have started to get a little crazy when compared to prices for the same items in other stores, they'll always have a place in my heart...if not in my wallet. It makes perfect sense that the retailing giant would want some sort of presence at San Diego Comic-Con and with the help of Entertainment Earth, they always will!

Offered in partnership with Entertainment Earth® at Booth #2343, customers will find official San Diego Comic-Con merchandise based on Adventure Time™, Mad Magazine®, MY LITTLE PONY, Predator, Regular Show™ and Winx Club®.

San Diego Comic-Con 2012 : NECA Exclusives

ONE Month and 2 weeks from now, the greatest convention series that ever held a nerdling to it's bosom will kick off and attempt to drive me into the ground. Of course I am talking about San Diego Comic Con, which I have been attending for over 10 years...and it hasn't killed me yet!!! COME AT ME BRO! One day they will put me in a reality show where they send me to every convention they can find and try to snuff me with dorkiness. That would be a good way to die. NECA is gearing up for the most holy of geekapaloozas with a string of exclusives set to make grown men squeal like a tiny anime loving child who just saw Naruto in person. Their list is not yet complete, but we've got the first three polished up and ready for your trembling eyeballs...

An Update on NECA's Toys R Us Exclusives Lineup

When we last reported on this series of Toys R Us exclusives, we didn't know much more than the names and matched that to pictures we'd shot. Now we THINK we have all the pics to go with the info. Here's the rundown...

Predator 25th Anniversary 7" Scale AF Jungle Hunter Cloaked - For the first time, the classic predator is offered in his cloaked form simulating the movie cloaking effect. Over 20 points of articulation, the original 1987 Predator.

Assassins Creed Brotherhood - Ezio 7" AF Onyx Costume Unhooded - This special edition figure of Ezio Auditore in his Onyx costume comes with his hood removed so you can see his full likeness and hair, normally concealed by his hooded disguise. Over 30 points of articulation. Comes with Wrist Blades and Crossbow accessories.

Bioshock Series 3 - Brute Splicer 7" Scale Action Figure - A brand new figure from the #1 selling Bioshock franchise! The Brute Splicer is a fan favorite and has been requested since the launch in 2010.

Robocop - 7" Scale Action Figure GITD Night Fighter - This special edition action figure pays homage to the classic Kenner Toy line with an exclusive glow in the dark Night Fighter Robocop.
Combining today's sculpting and detail with the beloved GLOW effect is sure to please fans and collectors of Robocop.

NECA Dishes Out More Hunger Games, Predators and Jasons!

Just a quickie post before I run into New York for the day! NECA just dropped some pre-orders, adding additional action figures to lines you know and love and offering an official picture to one fiend we saw at Toy Fair 2012.

First up, those loveable, blood thirsty kids from Hunger Games! OK..so only one of them was really blood thirsty...but we all know there was only one way to survive the game. NECA gave us an excellent series 1 just in time for the movie's release and now present series 2 with Katniss and Peeta in their training outfits and Rue and Cato in their "battle" gear. We don't have additional images yet but you can be sure all will come with appropriate accessories.












Next, we get a look at three new Predators from Series 6 of the mega popular action figure series. Casual collectors will note that NECA have been implementing new articulation for these alien hunters, making them more sought after than ever before. Series 6 includes Warrior, Scout and Lost Predators, all from Predator 2.












Finally, we bring you an updated look at the Friday the 13th action figures of Jason Voorhees, natch'. Now you'll have a Part 3 and Part 4 Jason to add to your collections!

NECA's 2012 Exclusives

We've been posting some pretty amazing figures from NECA Toys, shown at this year's International Toy Fair, but there are still more surprises laying in wait for your sweaty little, plastic loving palms this year! NECA appears to have teamed up with Toys R Us to deliver a power pack of exclusive action figures across their most popular lines. The lineup may include...

From the video game Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood: Rome Edition Ezio
From the video game Bioshock 2: Brute Splicer
A Jungle Hunter Cloaked Predator
and note this last one was a hell of a translation... Night Fighter Robocop!

We say "may" because NECA have not confirmed this wave of figures, nor have they even hinted at them in our notes from Toy Fair. We've seen the Lightning Gremlin and Brute Splicer a couple of times now, so no surprised there as they were slated for general release anyway but are clearly now set on another path, and either way, we are glad NECA found a means to get them to frantic fans. Now work on bringing us that Spider Gremlin!! It's never enough, is it?

The Rome Edition Ezio, Jungle Hunter Cloaked Predator and Night Fighter Robo are completely new to us. We are told the last one will GLOW IN THE DARK!!! Must have toy for 2012? I think yes. Our tipster points out that this Robocop must be a homage to a certain classic Kenner item. One look at the E.T. line will tell you how NECA feels about classic toys! At any rate, if all goes to plan, these items should show up on the pegs at Toys R Us this Summer, with a limited supply dished out to international chains.

NECA's SDCC Exclusives

Hasbro gave us a big fat taste of their geektastic SDCC exclusives at Toy Fair, most likely striking first blood in that arena, but honestly SDCC is so big right now someone else could have announced their goods before then and I don't have the energy to go check...so...let's move onnnn. Don't look at me like that. NECA step front and center and leaked their SDCC exclusives (very quietly) to those communists across the water, who then rubbed the fact in our face. Bastards. Here's the skinny..

Classic Predator in "Gort" Mask: The original 1987 version of the Predator with the original prototype mask not used on screen but known to Predator fans worldwide, the “Gort” mask; as seen in behind the scenes footage and the Stan Winston “Winston Effect” book. Classic Predator also includes a newly sculpted left hand holding a skull and spine trophy.

Gears of War 3 Marcus Out of Armor: The first figure from the highly anticipated sequel coming this Fall. Marcus is a brand new figure loaded with articulation and a brand new torso out of armor, not available anywhere else. Marcus also comes with a gold version of the Retro Lancer accessory.
Gremlins Gizmo Comic Con Edition: From the brand new re-launch of the Gremlins line comes this special edition Comic-Con Gizmo. Gizmo comes with sunglasses to protect himself from the bright lights and the California sun along with a special lanyard badge for his Comic-Con attendance and a tote bag that Gizmo can be placed inside to hide from the Gremlins or from
the crowds of fanboys and girls in San Diego.

UPDATE: NECA's Mind Blowing Quarter Scale Classic Predator Figure

Prepare to be AMAZED.

"Standing over 19" tall, but it's the volume & mass overall that's most impressive." boasts the NECA crew. They go on to say "His arms are fully poseable & we're using soft goods on robe sleeves & skirt part to allow for articulation. Retail around $80. Available April 2011. 3 different versions will be available, so choose your favorite head or buy 'em all. This was truly a labor of love and one of the largest most intricate figures we have ever made. We know YOU wanted him & we found a way to make it. The original, the classic, the best. It will be packaged fully assembled so it will be a HUGE box and an impressive sight to behold. We had this in development for some time and wanted to wait until we knew it was really happening and would be all we wanted it to be (before making the announcement.) The separate body net was a major goal we wanted to make happen...the detail, the deco, the size. This is the definitive 1987 Predator!"

Hope you were wearing a helmet cuz your mind has just been BLOWN!! Congratulations to team NECA for a seriously amazing toy in a market that seems content to cut back on details with 90's era looking figures as a result. NECA paves the way. Raise that bar and KICK SOME ASS!!

NECA's Alien and Predator Pack for the Holidays

If I ran NECA and I knew we were making a new Alien vs Predator 2 pack, exclusive to Toys R Us, just in time for the holidays, I'd randomly insert little Santa hats on the action figures to put them in the holiday spirit! Of course, this would anger the completest fans who now have to buy two of the 2 packs but have a hard time finding the "Santa Chase" because drippy, greezy, smelly scalpers are scalping them every chance they get. Eventually they show up at the NJ offices of NECA with torches and blood in their eyes. Ahhhhh...I love Christmas.

NECA provided new in package images (and packaging art images) of their Alien & Predator 2 pack which they promise will be hitting Toys R Us stores early this December. The Alien features multiple points of articulation, a bendy tail and an extendable inner mouth while the Predator features 20+ points of articulation and a removable back pack. For those of you who have always wanted the iconic Pred and Alien, or know someone insane about the series, now is your chance to score some bloodthirsty plastic Alien goodness.

This year world domination continues with new Video Game licenses, a bolstered lineup for Terminator 2, a hungry pack of Predators (beginning with new figures from 1 and 2), killer Jonah Hex figures, enough Twilight merch to make a little emo girl cry sparkly tears and THE MOST INCREDIBLE NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET COLLECTIBLE YOU HAVE EVER SEEN!!!
