Disney Stores Exclusive Marvel Action Figures
Marvel toy collectors just got another reason to put the nearest Disney Store in their GPS. After partnering with Diamond Select Toys on four exclusive Marvel Select Avengers figures and two exclusive Amazing Spider-Man movie figures, the Disney Store has teamed up with DST yet again, to deliver three new Marvel Select figures that collectors will be dying to own!
The first figure (available now) is the Savage Hulk, a new, modern Hulk based on artist Marc Silvestri's rendering of the character in recent issues of the Incredible Hulk from Marvel Comics. Depicting a more intelligent version of the Hulk than previous Select offerings, this figure was sculpted by frequent Marvel Select contributor Jean St. Jean, and stands over 9 inches tall with 16 points of articulation.

Amazing Spider-Man Movie Minimates In Action

Check out Diamond Select's Amazing Spider-Man Minimates! Boasting the widest array of characters from the film, Diamond Select's boxy little figures allow you to recreate every scene from the film on your desk at work while you wait for those TPS reports to print out. Minimates are jam packed with posability, allowing for the most eerie emoting from a figure of that scale. It always amazes me how much a little tilt of a head can do to a character's body language in a shot.

The Amazing Spider-Man Reviewed

As an angry nerd who was raised on comic books, I have a personal stake when Hollywood hijacks one of my beloved comic heroes and has their way with them. Sometimes, we get a disaster like Catwoman. I’ll give you a moment to stop screaming and vomiting. …and we continue. Sometimes we get Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man. After watching The Amazing Spider-Man, the older Spider-Man films now play like Tim Burton’s Batman in my head. They are whimsical and fairly non-threatening with too much time spent on overly mushy, mumbly moments where our protagonists drone on about their boundless love, and at the time, it is all we had, so it was good. Peter Parker was super nerdy, Mary Jane was missing a bit of her ka-pow…if you know what I mean…and there was just some element missing. The humor of the comics..the intensity of the action..the depravity of the villains…SOMETHING just did not translate. Even New York was this sort of idealized, convenient Raimi creation. All that is about to change.

The Amazing Spider-Man Lizard FULL Reveal!

And you can add "The Full Monty" as our scaly friend lacks purple pants.
Have you been keeping track? We first saw Lizard's face on a Pez dispenser. Then MEGABloks accidentally revealed his full look (albeit in tiny MEGA-figure form) along with plot details including SWAT LIZARDS!! Then your buddies at Idle Hands showed you the face of evil via a remote control for a Lizard Attack Quad which had the creature himself riding. We suggested he looked like Gadzookie (Godzilla's son, natch) but the consensus across the interwebs was he must be a Koopa Troopa from the Super Mario Brothers live action film. Works for me.

SwimWays® Dive Characters™ featuring kid's favorite Marvel® Spider-Man™ characters!
- Play action in and out of the pool.
- Soft and flexible design.
- Three characters per package: Two action-posed Spider-Man™ characters and one Lizard™.
Will there be anything huge left to reveal by the time Toy Fair actually starts? Probably not. Probably....not.

Another Amazing Spider-Man Lizard Teaser

This time we get a look at the shape of Lizard's body, courtesy of Diamond Select's Marvel Select Amazing Spider-Man Action figures! Here's the blurb...
Designed and Sculpted by Gentle Giant! A new movie means a new villain for Spider-Man to battle, and Marvel Select is there to bring the Lizard to life! Capturing the top-secret movie look of Dr. Curt Connors, a.k.a. the cold-blooded Lizard, this 7-inch-scale figure features 16 points of articulation, for endless reptile-on-spider action! Figure comes displayed in oversized collector packaging, and is only available on the specialty market.
You'll recall the last time we saw a toy featuring the Lizard, he was without his signature Lab Coat or Hulk active wear for the professional monster (aka Purple Pants)...or clothing of any kind. Take a look...

This new image seems to give further proof of this naked appearance, though it would be easy enough to hide ripped shorts in the silhouette above. I doubt it though. The Mega Bloks image back up this image to the left. My money is on naked Lizard as the core look for the film.

Quick notes since there is a debate raging on IMDB: Traditionally, a licensee (ie; the toy maker in this case) will only make a toy capturing the look the character has for the bulk of the film. In the case of Hasbro and MEGABloks, since they have an entire line focusing on this and few heroes and villains to fill it up, there's a chance we'll get 2 looks, but most likely not regular humans (except maybe in the MEGA lines since they can crank out tiny figures til the cows come home.) Anyway, my point is, the blacked out figure and the figure on the quad are probably what you will see Lizard looking like for the bulk of the film..little bit of a snout, no clothing and a tail. Do I think they will show him in the lab coat and purpley pants as a nod to his classic look in comics? Yes, but it will probably be when he first transforms. The MEGABloks sets show him in a lab coat and no pants, and there is no reason for them to make that unless it is in the film. Sure, he is on a jet ski at the time, but we'll just chalk that up to Toy Fun! I certainly don't think Lizard and Spider-Man will have a cataclysmic quad battle either, but I do hold out hope for a dirt bike race. Do I think Lizard will transform further? Absolutely. I think he will be full on raging monster by the film's finale, forcing Spider-Man to make a though choice in how to stop him since he still remembers the man inside. We shall seeeee...
