Newly Restored 4K Version of Trick ‘r Treat Getting Nationwide Release October 14 & 16

Legendary Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures  and Saga Arts are digging up a Halloween treat too good to miss — Trick ‘r Treat, is for the first time ever, newly restored in 4K and back on the big screen with partner Fathom Entertainment, the leading specialty distributor of content to theatrical partners worldwide, for a special, long-awaited nationwide re-release of the horror classic on October 14 and 16.

For two nights only, die-hard fans and curious newcomers will have the chance to relive the frights, the laughs, and the twisted traditions of this cult favorite. Plus, audiences will get bonus content straight from writer/director Michael Dougherty himself!

STREET FIGHTER Movie Set for Release on October 16, 2026

Paramount Pictures and Legendary Entertainment today announced a new multi-year worldwide film distribution deal. Under the deal, Paramount will market and distribute Legendary-developed and produced theatrical films globally, excluding China, where Legendary East handles all marketing and distribution activities.  Legendary’s first film within the distribution deal will be Street Fighter, co-produced by Capcom. The film is currently in production and is based on the hugely popular and successful video game franchise. Filmed for IMAX®, Street Fighter will be released in theaters on October 16, 2026. 

Apple TV+ Unveils “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters”

Today, Apple TV+ unveiled the first teaser for “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters,” and shared that the highly anticipated ten-episode series will premiere globally on Friday, November 17. Based on Legendary’s Monsterverse, and starring Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski, "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” will debut with the first two episodes, followed by one episode every Friday through January 12.

Legendary Comics Announces 'Godzilla vs. Kong' Publishing Program

In anticipation of the March release of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures epic action adventure Godzilla vs. Kong, Legendary Comics announced today an exciting companion publishing program that will allow fans to dive deeper into stories relating to the upcoming cinematic showdown between two of the most beloved pop culture Titans of all time—the great Godzilla and the mighty Kong! The Godzilla vs. Kong publishing program will feature: two new epic prequel graphic novels; an anthology featuring past fan-favorite comic series; two endearing titles for young readers—an original children’s picture book and a young children’s board book; an official behind-the-scenes art book; and a novelization that takes readers deeper into the worlds of Monarch, the Titans, and more. Each title will set the stage for this not-to-be-missed battle royale.

Ltd. announced an exciting slate of licensees that will deliver a diverse offering of merchandise and experiences to fans timed to the release of the blockbuster film.

Toy Fair 2016: Jakks Pacific Warcraft Movie Toys "Live" Images

As we creep closer to NY Toy Fair 2016, reports are coming in from every place you could imagine. It seems Jakks Pacific got their Warcraft movie toys out to retail about 3 minutes after we profiled them here on Idle Hands, and our friend Marvin Camua was nice enough to snap a pile of pictures for us. We feel pictures like this are important, as the official pictures are always going to show you the best possible image of toys, most likely hand painted by industry artists. It's not til these toys see mass production that we can REALLY see what we'll actually be able to buy on store shelves. With the Warcraft line, it's pretty much what we expected...

Legendary Pictures Revives Electra Woman and Dyna Girl

Remember Electra Woman and Dyna Girl??!! Of course you don't. I'm 41 and I barely remember them. It seems name recognition means little to the juggernaut production company Legendary who brought you tiny little films like GODZILLA...and Pacific Rim...and Batman. I know next to nothing about this project, other than it is happening (as per a tip from Legendary's Twitter account) and a quicky video introducing the two young ladies playing the pivitol rolls...

Godzilla 2014....Revealed!...Again! Toys from JAKKS, Bandai, NECA & Diamond Select

Yes, anticlimactic..we know..and so do the toy companies...but it is an unfortunate situation. Back ...probably further than January, the toy world gave us the first, full, clear-as-all-get-out look at the giant lizard we know and loved in his somewhat tweaked look for the 2014 film from Legendary Pictures. Did this reveal cause executives to shout "The game is up! Since people have seen the toy already, let's show off the lot and bring more excitement to everyone's Toy Fair coverage!"?? Nope. Instead, Legendary held on tight through a plush and book reveal, more giant JAKKS figure reveals and finally an onslaught of in package shots of Bandai's line before someone at sales said "screw it" and spilled the lot to retailers online seconds before they turned up in stores. Keep in mind, you could buy them as of at least 3 weeks now...which makes it the perfect moment to reveal the JAKKS Giant Size Godzilla!! ...Timing is everything.

300 Returning to Screens with 13 Minutes of "Rise of an Empire"

In celebration of the March 7th release of Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ “300: Rise of an Empire,” fans in ten cities in North America will have an opportunity to see the movie that started it all, Zack Snyder’s “300,” returning to the big screen exclusively for this event.

Fans attending the event will also be the first to see the first 13 minutes of the much-anticipated “300: Rise of an Empire,” which will be unveiled—complete and uncut in 3D IMAX—prior to the first film’s screening.

The cities in which the events will be held are: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Boston, Dallas, Washington DC, Phoenix, Toronto and Montreal.

Godzilla 2014 Surfaces

As is generally the way of things, it seems we may get our first genuine look at the new movie Godzilla via a toy. Expect a lot of this in the first couple of months of 2014.

The Cast and Director of GODZILLA Survive the Godzilla Encounter at SDCC

Legendary Pictures rented some warehouse space in San Diego, scarred the sides with colossal claw marks and challenged fans to figure out a code word that would unlock tickets to the GODZILLA ENCOUNTER; an interactive experience recreating a little piece of Tokyo complete with a noodle shop, warning signs, evacuation gear and a GIANT RAMPAGING LIZARD THAT SHOOTS FIRE FROM ITS MOUTH!!! Hows that for a night time activity? Follow along with director Gareth Edwards, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen and Bryan Cranston as they navigate the thrilling interactive environment and share some behind-the-scenes info about the set of Godzilla.

SDCC 2013: The Godzilla Encounter

A lucky few journalists have just completed a run through the Godzilla Encounter, set to open its doors at San Diego Comic Con 2013...or rather just outside of it. The experience appears to be part Godzilla museum, sure to blow the head off all your hardcore fans, part eye candy with visuals warning of the creature's coming around every corner and part immersive fun house, complete with a ramen noodle shop and business men eating there, reading their paper, paying you no mind. We've also got word that Godzilla looks...pretty much the way he is supposed to look and the roar is spot on. Everyone can breathe now!! Pics after the jump...

SDCC 2013: And Now a Word From Godzilla's Keepers...

As San Diego Comic Con 2013 comes lumbering toward the geek world like the three headed, engine of destruction known as Ghidorah, one titanic lizard seems to be headed straight for it. WHO SHALL WIN!!! Well...of course San Diego Comic Con will win as thousands flock to its doors, paying tribute like a dork-Mecca. Legendary Pictures knows that if you want the full devotion of the geek masses, you must make a big noise at this show...so what bigger noise can be made than the roar of GODZILLA??!!  They've been teasing a presence at the show for months now and recently started throwing around the GodzillaEncounter.com web address.....annnd we are no closer to knowing what that means for you lot heading to San Diego than we were last week. Is it going to be a sort of interactive running thing like those folks fleeing the zombie menace last year? Could beee. Will it end in a teaser for Godzilla the movie? Possiblyyyyy. In one week, all will be revealed. Until then, here's Godzilla Director Gareth Edwards standing amid the wreckage of the most famous collasal monster of them all...with a message.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past.
