Dynamite on Nightmare Before Christmas Graphic Novels

This summer a new nightmare comes to Halloween Town! The iconic film Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas makes its way to comics once more with an all-new graphic novel. Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: Long Live the Pumpkin Queen hits shelves this June.

Based on the New York Times best-selling novel by Shea Ernshaw, the graphic novel of Long Live the Pumpkin Queen will offer a unique visual experience and translation of its already beloved story for fans. Acclaimed author Liz Marsham handles the adaptation, distilling a novel into an exciting and haunting graphic narrative. She's a fan-favorite veteran of Disney's library of stories and worlds, working on projects like Disney Princess: Ariel and the Sea Wolf. She's joined by the artistic duo of Alessio Petillo and Ismael Canales, masterfully bringing the timeless characters of the film and novel to the comic page. Last but certainly not least, comics legend Jill Thompson (Sandman, Scary Godmother) illustrates the hauntingly beautiful cover.

Production is underway for the live-action reimagining of Disney’s 1941 animated classic “Dumbo.” Directed by visionary filmmaker Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland,” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”), the film stars Golden Globe® winner Colin Farrell (“In Bruges,” “The Lobster”), Golden Globe winner Michael Keaton (“Birdman,” “Beetlejuice”), Emmy® and Golden Globe winner Danny DeVito (“Batman Returns,” “Big Fish”), BAFTA Award winner and Golden Globe nominee Eva Green (“Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children,” “Dark Shadows”), and introduces Nico Parker and Finley Hobbins in their first film roles. Tim Burton takes a lot of lumps for his art..from me, and other critics, both professional and of the fan variety. Draining the wonder from Wonderland and replacing it with a sort of fantasy version of a post apocalyptic wasteland, while wildly imaginative, was not exactly what those seeking light Disney fare were looking for, and on the other end of the spectrum, stuck an odd chord with Burton die hards. Yes, the dark angle is expected, but it's a "spooky" dark Burton build his empire upon, draped with whimsical music, near slapstick comedy and an overall charm that would instantly win over the hearts of those who wish it to be Halloween, eternally. Dark Shadows seemed a perfect playground for Burton's gothic trappings, but the film was mired in it's own failed comedy and remains a topic...most fans care not to discuss. Now comes Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children which, again, seems like the right job for the right man with amazing hair, and you'll be happy to note, it's got the right trailer too!

Now here's a series I can't say no to. Oh, How I tried. I managed to run from the first wave and only got some random pieces in trades just because they were deals I couldn't pass up, but now, with additions like Lost Boys, American Werewolf in London, Universal Monsters and HITCHCOCK HIMSELF.....who could resist? ABC Family's 17th Annual “13 Nights of Halloween”

ABC Family scares up the 2015 13 NIGHTS OF HALLOWEEN celebration, with programming filled with scares and frights as you countdown to Halloween. The popular programming event, now in its 17th year, kicks off on Monday, October 19th and concludes on Saturday, October 31st, and features a special Halloween episode of procedural drama “Stitchers.” The stunt will also include the ABC Family premiere of Johnny Depp in  “Sleepy Hollow,” the network premiere of “Disney∙Pixar’s Monsters University,” and a delightfully scary mix of Halloween-themed programming airing for the 13 nights leading up to Halloween.

EDGAR “E” GORE (voiced by Atticus Shaffer)

Edgar “E” Gore is a needy misfit who doesn’t have friends but is desperate to be Victor’s partner for the science fair. In his attempts to be accepted ‘E’ tends to mess things up and often fails to think before he speaks. Even though ‘E’ promises not to tell Victor’s secret, he accidentally spills the beans.

Disney Launches The Art of Frankenweenie Exhibition

Walt Disney Studios announced today that they are launching a touring exhibition featuring the art of Tim Burton’s “Frankenweenie,” the acclaimed director’s stop-motion, animated feature film releasing on October 5, 2012.

The Art of Frankenweenie Exhibition will premiere in Barcelona, Spain, at CineEurope, June 18-21, and in the U.S. at Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego, California, July 11-15. When the tour is complete it will have visited seven countries, including Spain, France, England, Japan, Mexico, Canada and the U.S.A.

The Art of Frankenweenie Exhibition captures the magic of the filmmaking process and gives audiences an exclusive glimpse into the stop-motion animation process brought to life by visionary filmmaker Tim Burton. From original sketches drawn by Burton, to extensive props, sets and puppets, the exhibition showcases the artistic detail and vision that has gone into bringing this heartwarming tale to the big screen in 2012’s most highly anticipated animated movie. Dark Shadows: Vampire History

In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet—or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy...until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets. If you are like me, you probably didn't guess the tone of this film from the stills released to date. That being the case, then like me, you completely overlooked the fact that Tim Burton is directing. Fail on my part.
