90's Marvel Universe Card Art Returns

Game Office Marvel Universe Nano Puzzle Thor

Sensing the immense love fans are giving anything that calls back to their very geeky childhoods, European company Game Office is releasing a series of "Nano Puzzles" featuring art from the 90's Marvel Universe card series from Impel. For those who don't go ham on collectibles of any sort, I'll clue you in that over the Covid shut down, and still (largely) today, the market on most 80's vintage toy lines went through the roof, along with several card series that were very nearly worthless prior to this bump. Impel's first series Marvel Universe card series got a significant kick in the pants and still remains in the triple digits for a complete set, with holograms. Most likely noticing this trend, licensors are taking full advantage!

Sweet Suite 2017: LEGO: Marvel Thor: Ragnarok Preview

Sweet Suite is an extremely fun yearly event thrown by the fine folks at Toy Insider where we face the unique challenge of scoring free drinks while attempting to hold a camera steady enough to shoot new toys. BATTLE!! Galaxia Siandre accepted that challenge at my side and together, we swept the room clean of any and all scoops and..well..probably shot every toy there too. Just days away from San Diego Comic-Con, let's get a jump on drooling over new toys with LEGO!

Toy Fair 2012 : LEGO Marvel Super Heroes

We've just started showing off the latest DC Super Heroes sets now hitting shelves at your favorite toy shops, so we thought it was a good time to show you what LEGO has on tap for the first wave of Marvel goodness! Here's the run down...

Captain America's Avenging Cycle
Wolverine's Chopper Showdown
Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape
Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout
Quinjet Aerial Battle
Spider-man's Doc Oc Ambush

...and more of those larger scale roboty figures with...
Captain America
Hulk
Iron Man

I'm most psyched for LEGO to get clear of the Avengers movie hype and start making us sets based on awesome throw downs in Marvel Comics History! Just imagine..the first appearance of Wolverine...Deadpool vs the Skrull Invasion Force...First Appearance Avengers...X-Men vs The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants...Fantastic Four vs Galactus!!! My mind goes into overdrive with the possibilities.

2012 Preview: The Amazing Spider-Man Movie Merchandise

Oh yea..there IS another super hero movie in 2012! Let's take a quick look at that calendar...

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance - February 17th
Avengers - May 4th
Amazing Spider-Man - July 3rd
The Dark Knight Rises - July 20th

July 3rd is a long ways away, but images of licensed movie merch are already surfacing. The first surprise came from MEGABloks which revealed the first pieces for their upcoming construction kits. We recently wondered how the LEGO Marvel license would effect the future of MEGA's involvement with Marvel. It's looking like LEGO will handle anything under the Disney flag (Marvel movies and comics) while MEGA snaps up any film revolving around that massive planet (not verified, just speculation). So far, I think they missed an awesome opportunity with X-Men: First Class, but just about everyone expected that film to under-perform, which explains the lack of product. Maybe they'll pick up sets for The Wolverine and Magneto in 2013! At any rate, sets we've uncovered include Lizard Man Showdown, Oscorp Tower FX Battle, Sewer Lab HQ and FX Spider-Room Stunts.
